CHOOSING A BATTERY
QUICK BATTERY TIPS
Long battery life starts with a premium-quality product and
includes how you treat your battery. Follow these tips to get
the most from your batteries.
LONG LIFE
BATTERY
1. When the engine’s off, turn everything else off.
Automotive batteries are designed to provide a lot of power
over a short time. All it takes is one light left on or a GPS
device plugged in overnight to completely drain your battery.
SELECTION
2. Clean your battery. Corrosion can come between you and
a reliable start. Make sure your vehicle’s battery terminals are
clean with corrosion remover.
3. Check out the warranty. Interstate provides a simple,
hassle-free warranty accepted across North America.
With easy-to-understand terms and nationwide coverage,
Interstate’s Performance Warranty gives you the best warranty
coverage in the industry.
4. Consider your climate and commute. When you buy
a battery, make sure it’s designed to withstand the extreme
temperatures in your climate – and can withstand any extra
power needs you may have.
5. Test to identify battery problems early. Batteries hide
their age a little too well. Make sure you get your battery
tested every six months — or before extreme weather arrives.
A battery analysis now could save you an expensive tow or
repair bill later.

PICK YOUR POWER
Mega-Tron Plus®
At Interstate Batteries, we love to keep things running.
When choosing the next battery for your car or truck,
we want you to make an informed decision. That’s why
this guide explains what you need to know about your
next automotive battery.
High Cranking
6-year Performance
CCA Rating. CCA, or “cold cranking amps,”
is a standard rating for comparing batteries.
How much current can this battery produce at
0° F for at least 30 seconds? If this number
meets or exceeds what your vehicle needs,
you’re good to go – literally.
3
CA Rating. CA, or “cranking amps,” is a
similar rating to CCA, except at a warmer
temperature. How much current can this
battery produce at 32° F? Batteries typically
produce more current at warmer temperatures.
4
Warranty. This number describes your
free-replacement period or your performance
warranty. When you compare warranties, be
sure you’re looking at the same warranty terms.

UNDERSTANDING THE
BATTERY LABEL
For those vehicles where battery sizes are available in

5-year Performance
The right battery should do more than fit your vehicle.
It needs to give you the most life for where and how
you drive.
