A celebration of all things good about
sport where the best of local talent will
be showcased at this gala evening. There
are nine categories including adult sports
person of the year, sports person of the
year with a disability and junior team. One
highlight of the night is the annual inductee
to the Hall of Fame; they will join legends
such as Willie John McBride, Paddy Hopkirk
and Kyle McCallan.

on our doorstep. Pond dipping, bug hunts,

For 10 -16 year olds this fun fishing
programme teaches all aspects of fly

the knowledge to fish safely and effectively

Introduction to Shibori Dyeing
For 16 years and over. Shibori is the ancient
Japanese craft of binding, folding and
stitching fabric before dying to create a
unique pattern. Using the Tenugi (Japanese
hand towel) tutor Catherine Quinn will
introduce you to Shibori techniques and to
the indigo dyeing process. You will be shown
how to make an indigo vat and then how to
use the dye bath correctly. Once your items
have been dipped you will cut away the
stitching to reveal your unique indigo shibori
tenugi. Old clothes advisable. Materials

Parkrun is a free, timed, 5k run that takes
place at Lough Shore Park, Antrim and
Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey as
well as local parks all over the world every
