be showcased at this gala evening. There
are nine categories including adult sports

to the Hall of Fame; they will join legends
such as Willie John McBride, Paddy Hopkirk
and Kyle McCallan.

Introduction to Shibori Dyeing
For 16 years and over. Shibori is the ancient
Japanese craft of binding, folding and
stitching fabric before dying to create a
unique pattern. Using the Tenugi (Japanese
hand towel) tutor Catherine Quinn will
introduce you to Shibori techniques and to
the indigo dyeing process. You will be shown
how to make an indigo vat and then how to
use the dye bath correctly. Once your items
have been dipped you will cut away the
stitching to reveal your unique indigo shibori
tenugi. Old clothes advisable. Materials

Papermaking
These wonderful workshops will explore
the fascinating craft of making paper by
hand using traditional methods. Following a
brief outline of the history of papermaking
and the relevance of papermaking in the
Antrim area, the workshop will guide you
through the simple processes involved in
the Craft using traditional hand equipment.
This workshop is a must for all card makers,
decoupage enthusiasts or for anyone
interested in handmade paper. Cost £50.
Flower Arranging
Learn how to harvest and properly condition
flowers from the garden. We will tour the
courtyard garden and discuss which
varieties of flowers are suitable for cutting
followed by a demonstration of a simple
posy in a vase. You will then be shown how
to create your own beautiful hand tied
bouquet, using locally grown flowers.

Parkrun is a free, timed, 5k run that takes
place at Lough Shore Park, Antrim and
Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey as

the history of Antrim Castle Gardens and
Clotworthy House. You will take a walk
into history in a complex living museum
exploring four centuries of heritage and
culture where you will learn about the
evolution of the gardens and the fated
history of the Massereene family dynasty.

Requires advance booking with

tours of the Mossley Mill site are available
on request throughout the year. Tours
provide an insight into this historic site
and its development from a 19th century
flax mill to the multi-functional space
it is today. As part of the Decade of
Remembrance a replica First World War
trench has been constructed at Mossley
Mill and a visit to this may be included if
desired. £2 per person.
