What is VELUX Modular Skylights?
VELUX Modular Skylights is the perfect way to open up
large rooms in your home and create a light, bright and
spacious environment. VELUX Modular Skylights combines
elegant lines and intelligent design with exceptional
energy efficiency.
Unique design
Developed in collaboration with renowned architects
Foster + Partners, VELUX Modular Skylights offers a
minimalist design with super-slim profiles. The electronics
and motors in each module are concealed, creating a simple
and refined look, inside and out.
Robust and energy efficient
All VELUX Modular Skylights are constructed from an
advanced composite material that makes them very
strong and highly energy-efficient. The entire installation
is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions,
with a life expectancy stretching far into the future and
a 10 Year Product Guarantee.

needs, whilst also making the room look attractive

of natural light on the living
space; creating a fresh and
relaxed environment.
With VELUX Modular Skylights, you can supplement the
limited light from your living room’s vertical windows
with light that shines into the centre of your room.
The light from a skylight enters directly from above –
a much stronger source of illumination than light coming
from the side through windows in the walls. No matter
whether the sun is shining or the sky is blanketed in clouds,
VELUX Modular Skylights guarantees plenty of natural
light throughout the day.
The solution
If you want to transform your home with the effects
of natural light, we recommend VELUX Modular
Skylights with multiple modules in a row. This solution
can be opened automatically for ventilation and the
addition of electrically operated roller blinds offers
greater light and energy control.

Choose between two types of solution
VELUX Modular Skylights is available as Longlights or Ridgelights and
on the following pages you will find information on the packages that
we offer for the full installation of these two products.
Fixed and venting Modular Skylights

Please note that if a row of modular skylights also
includes several venting modules, then a fixed module
must be installed in between each one. This optimises
room ventilation.

All modules are fitted with a fully integrated motor
that operates the blinds and/or the closing mechanism
for maximum daylight control. Modular skylights are
operated using a VELUX INTEGRA® control pad.

Prices and solutions
Sub-construction
Sub-construction dimensions
depend on the scope of the project
VELUX Modular Skylights such as Longlights and Ridgelights are
installed on a sub-construction made out of wood, steel or concrete.
The sub-construction does not form part of the VELUX skylight solution.
The individual details of each building’s roof structure and load tolerances
(statics) will vary from project to project.
For installation purposes, it is essential that the sub-construction should
meet precise specifications in terms of dimensions, load-bearing capacity
etc. VELUX product sheets and installation instructions for Longlights
and Ridgelights contain detailed descriptions of each product and the
relevant installation process.
Remember to consult your local installer before choosing your solution,
or else contact the VELUX Modular Skylights Support Team for further
information and project specific details.

VELUX modular skylights installed in a longlight solution are build
on a sub-construction made of wood, steel or concrete. The subconstruction raises the modules above the roof surface, protecting
the construction against water and drifting snow, and provides
the supporting base for the modular skylights.
