Jeter Systems supplies millions of file folders in a variety of designs to customers. Jeter products are used in worldrenowned medical facilities, government offices and a broad range of private enterprises — particularly insurance
and banking. There are many reasons why Jeter file folders are the industry’s best . . .
Super Coders are also available with double-ply, extra reinforced tabs. A full 11⁄ 2" of manila paper is folded over and
glued for added strength and rigidity. Most manufacturers only fold over 11⁄ 8" of paper. Jeter folders are much
stronger at the critical tab edge.

Every Jeter customer expects the folders that house
their valuable records to meet a specific set of needs.
Many are looking for heavy-duty folders; often with
printed information on the inside and outside. A
variety of pockets, dividers, index labels and fastening
devices inside the folder may be required. Jeter meets
these needs — including color-coding, bar-coding,
custom printing and other special requirements.
Jeter makes file folders in a variety of weights. Our
standards are 11-point and 14-point manila paper stock.
Special folder papers are also available, and your Jeter
representative is available to perform a survey to determine the folder best suited for your filing applications.

The superior printing that sets Jeter file folders apart
demonstrates Jeter’s commitment to exceptionally high
standards for graphic quality. Logos and business forms
printed on the front and/or inside of our file folders
are clear and crisp. Our presses allow us to print up to
three colors as we make your file folders (two colors
on one side and one color on the other.)
3. Unique Label Alignment Marks.
Jeter pays particular attention to the label alignment
marks that are an inherent part of our color-coding
systems. So, order after order, you can rely on Jeter
alignments to be printed correctly. Many competitors
fail to understand the importance of correct alignment,
and offer carelessly positioned alignment marks that
lead to problems for you. All Jeter stock folders have
alignment marks printed in light gray so they do not
show through the color-coding labels.

alignment marks on front of end tab locate the important Terminal
Digits. The small squares or write-in boxes locate the Prefix Digits in
the same place on the tab of the folder for a more orderly system.

Jeter makes folders to match GBS folders. Our tab style and alignment
marks match GBS. We print the tabs in gray ink, which is easy to see,
yet does not show through most over-applied labels like the black ink
that GBS uses. We print the marks on both sides of the folder tab.
Jeter 1341 has a double-ply tab that is reinforced a full 11⁄ 2" for added
strength.

Jeter pressboard folders are made from pearl-gray, genuine pressboard. Because this is the strongest premium
stock available, these folders offer the greatest durability. Our folders come with a standard style undercut end tab,
with printed alignment marks for accurate label placement. Folders for both letter and legal-size systems, with or
without bonded style fasteners, are available for next-day shipment from inventory.

Jeter knew a better expansion pocket was the key to
success in the file pocket marketplace. By analyzing
competitive designs and eliminating their weaknesses,
Jeter produced a superior design with significant
improvements that result in much stronger pockets.
If desired, Jeter will rivet the front top corners and
the back corners of your folders. The rivet punches
through the covers, the Mylar and the gusset, and is
crimped similarly to the rivet in the back pockets of
Levis®. This makes critical corners very strong.

Jeter pocket tabs are slightly longer to accept
color-coding labels properly. Other companies make
tabs too short, so the labels don’t fold in the center.
Jeter makes all gussets (the accordion-like part of the
product that allows expansion) from 11-point manila.
The gussets are completely lined with Mylar film that
makes them exceptionally strong. Since the reinforcement is on the inside of the pocket, its manila color
works well with color-coding systems.

Jeter uses two-plys of 14-point manila for expansion
pocket covers. This material is stronger than most
standard pockets. The tabs are Super Coder tabs,
which are extended 1⁄ 8" longer than normal file folders.
All Super Coder tabs are printed with our unique
alignment marks for easy labeling.
A special machine folds the gusset, and it is die-cut to
allow its corners to lie flat within the covers. Other
companies make pockets gathered, which means extra
material is bunched against itself when glued. Jeter
die-cuts to provide a thin, yet strong pocket corner.

3. Extra Deep Glued Edge Adds Durability.
Jeter Systems has the capability to print on the
manila covers of expansion pockets. Because printing
must occur before assembly, minimum order quantities
are required. See your representative for specifics.
Jeter glues a full 3⁄ 4" of the gusset onto the front and
back covers. All others glue only a small 7⁄ 16" margin
onto the covers. Jeter’s double-wide, glued gusset is
stronger and more durable when actively used and
fully loaded with heavy documents.

Jeter Mammography Jackets
Jeter manufactures a full line of X-ray jackets made from 11-point and 14-point manila. These X-ray jackets are
machine-folded and glued, and they can be custom-printed on both the front and back covers with a hospital name
or other information. You will find our printing to be superior to what you see from most file folder manufacturers.
Jeter Systems produces a uniquely sized X-ray storage jacket for mammography film. We also have storage equipment designed for mammogram examination files. For many hospitals, using only one type of X-ray-size storage
equipment is a problem. Some hospitals are now using mammogram libraries that house nothing but mammogram
files, because of their permanent nature. These libraries enable physicians to supply better information regarding a
patient’s health. Our new jacket size and filing equipment saves space over standard shelving.
Jeter also provides X-ray jackets with report pockets, manufactured under the H. L. Hurt patent. We are one of the
few licensed users of this important technology (U.S. patent No. 4221161 + 4192447).
Our new mammogram jackets are stock items. These jackets can receive our strip label and integrate into
existing systems.

Mini-size folders are an optimum way to contain smaller than letter-size records. They have become standard
throughout the optical industry, used by nationally recognized chains. If only a few letter-size documents accumulate within your folders, mini-size file folders could be used to save an enormous amount of space. Just fold the
documents in half. Jeter makes a complete line of mini-size filing equipment to complement our mini file folders.
We also make a complete line of mini-size color-coding labels, see pg. 6 for alpha and pg. 13 for numeric coding.
Pressure-sensitive Birth-Date strip labels are also available. For 0 through 9 digit labels to match dates, see page 13.

Jeter Birth-Date strip label folders come with precoded, machine-attached color-codes of the days of the month.
Strip labels are partially covered with a clear Mylar film for added strength and color protection. We use our
extra-deep, reinforced 2241 made of 14-point manila stock (our best folder), and wrap a 7-point, partially Mylarsealed label around the edge. These prelabeled folders are machine-made to ensure perfect alignment. Preattached
codes save valuable staff time and make this system one of the quickest in new folder preparation.

Jeter Top Tab File Folders
Jeter has designed a line of top tab file folders made of heavy grade, 14-point manila stock. These systems work
well in drawer files and/or in lateral roll-out systems. Our top tab file folders are taller for improved visibility. Label
alignment marks are preprinted at the factory, so you know exactly where to put the appropriate color-code. Use
our top tab folders with our Top Coder® color-coding system, page 19. File folders are available from stock with
fasteners in common positions.

New Auto Title Folders For New Federal Uniform Titling System
Across the country, a new uniform national titling system has been adopted. In many states, copies of automobile
titles are filed at the courthouse. The filing of these documents is important because it registers the ownership,
lien and loan activity on all vehicles. These files are kept in county auto title departments, prohibiting an individual
from selling an automobile that is really owned by a bank. Most titles are filed by the county generated title
number. The numbers are generally batch-filed in straight sequential order. As a result, a hundred new titles would
be grouped in a file folder carrying a color-coding label. Jeter has addressed the needs of this new system. Our
new automobile title-size system was designed for this particular size document.

Jeter out-guides are a great way to control documents when removed from the file. A charge-out form on the
out-guide names the borrower of the record and notes the date the record left the file area. The out-guide
clearly indicates where to return file folders that have been removed from the system, so refiling is both fast
and accurate, saving valuable time.
Most Jeter out-guide folders contain a pocket to hold documents. Once a file folder is returned to the system,
the documents can be transferred directly into the permanent folder. Jeter out-guide folders are available in a
variety of colors. These colors can be used to signify certain weeks of the month, specific departments or
whatever meets your organization’s needs.

Jeter Pockets
Many companies need custom index sets inside their file folders. Jeter offers custom index sets to divide the
contents of file folders, making retrieval of information much faster. Jeter can match any index set that you are
currently using. We can provide side tab and bottom tab indexing, and also indexes with fasteners to allow select
pages to be easily removed from within a stack of documents.
Jeter has four standard file pockets for inside any of our file folders. These pockets can be factory-installed to our
file folders or ordered separately. Some prefer a loose pocket within a file folder to collect certain documents.
Jeter has a variety of stock folders with pockets installed, see page 30.
Custom indexes allow for your unique printing requirements, and offer you colorful, factory-manufactured Mylar
tabs. A variety of paper is also available. Many customers choose to have indexes inserted to their file folders
before shipping. This saves your staff time, as the file folders come out of the carton ready for use –– contact a Jeter
representative to discuss your special requirements.

Jeter stocks a broad variety of file folders with factory-installed fasteners. Fasteners in special positions are also
available at your request. All Jeter factory-installed fasteners are of the bonded variety, using glue under extreme
pressure and heat. Because the fasteners are bonded, the file folders will not snag each other or scratch a surface,
as was common with older style embossed fasteners.
If you need to change your top tab folders to end tab, Create-A-Tabs provide a unique solution. Jeter offers two
styles of Create-A-Tabs, which allow you to attach a pressure-sensitive tab to the end of your top tab file folder.
Create-A-Tabs are stock items. They have a crack-and-peal backer, which makes them easy to apply to file folders.
Create-A-Tabs will adhere securely to most file folder surfaces, depending upon the condition of the file folder.
Each is printed with alignment marks to show exactly where to place color-coding labels.

Copy Clips
Copy clips can be added to
our standard bonded
fasteners. Copy clips allow
a document to be removed
easily from others within a
stack. Documents are
simply threaded forward
on the copy clip until you
get to the one you need to
remove.The copy clip is
then removed from the fastener, allowing access to a
certain document.
Afterward, documents slide
readily back onto the fasteners and into position.

This two-prong, 11⁄ 2” pressure-sensitive fastener con-
sists of a tough fabric, which is laminated to a poly
foam with a high-tack rubber adhesive back. It has the
holding power equal to a factory-bonded fastener.

File Folder Reinforcement and Repair Labels
Heavy weight Tyvek labels with easy-to-use crack-and-peel backer sheets are practically indestructible. They can
repair any stock or special file folder, file pocket or X-ray jacket. Attach this product yourself or request that the
labels be attached at the factory. Available in two sizes, smaller size for folders and the larger size for X-ray jackets.
We also have Mylar repair labels that are very strong. Because they are clear, you can apply them where required
and still read or see all data on the folder cover or tab.

eter Systems manufactures machine-attached, color-coded strip labels for file folders. Our strip labels are
manufactured on 7-point white tag stock. The stock is processed and collated through a series of presses,
then gathered into appropriate sets, usually 000 through 999. Jeter can print any sequential numbering series.
Our high-quality, brilliant, Mylar laminated color-coding strip labels can be attached to most Jeter manufactured
file folders or file pockets, including X-ray jackets.
1. Mylar Coating Guards And Strengthens Color-Coding.
All Jeter Systems strip labels are provided with a two-mil
Mylar over-laminate, which is attached to the color-codes by
heat-activated adhesive. The Mylar outer skin makes it impossible for the ink to chip away at the viewable edges of the file
folder tab. Color-coding stays bright, bold and legible.

2. Consistent Colors Guaranteed — Order After Order.
All of the color-coding produced at Jeter systems is color
verified by densitometers. These electronic devices read
color and display it in a digital form. With this device, Jeter is
able to ensure complete color consistency order after order,
year after year. Most other manufacturers do not use equipment of this sophistication, causing their inconsistent colors
to detract from the overall efficiency and effectiveness of
color-coding systems.
3. Jeter Matches Most Major Color-Coding Systems.
We would be pleased to offer a quotation to meet any specific
customer need or specification. Jeter can match colors and
styles of many systems offered by other companies.
4. Jeter Can Make Computer-Generated Labels.
Jeter Systems can create custom, computer-generated labels.
This new technology makes filing conversions far more manageable than ever before. Simply send us your data on a 31⁄ 2
disk, and we will create color-coding from various fields of
your information. These labels can include a variety of text,
including names, addresses and phone numbers. Bar-coding
can also be included, making the file folders machine-readable. This new technology is the best way to manage a filing
conversion. The data is duplicated exactingly from your database to create color-coded file folders. Jeter computer-created
labels can be prepared on pressure sensitive stock for field
attaching, or strip label stock for machine-attaching to file
