SUMMARY OF THE AIRBUS EMPLOYEES’ TRAVEL SURVEY “GETTING TO AIRBUS, 2012” Université de Toulouse II-Le Mirail Laboratoire LISST-Cieu Thanks Before setting out the main findings of the survey, the university team and the departments in charge of this study would like to thank the employees who took part in large numbers. The success of this study is based on these active links, and the actions to be accomplished can then only be closer to your everyday realities. Further to an earlier experiment carried out in 2005-2006, Airbus, in partnership with Université de Toulouse II-Le Mirail’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Urban Studies, has carried out a questionnaire-based survey of its staff’s movements to and from the Toulouse sites. The goal of this survey is to get a better understanding of their mobility habits and identify their needs, in order to reduce the inconveniencies and promote coherent and realistic alternatives in response to the strongest expectations. What three suggestions would you make as a priority to improve travel conditions (external & internal)? (In red the most recurring) Means of transport Personal car Rethink the access routes to the sites (too congested) at the level of La Crabe and of La Fontaine Lumineuse (better separate the flow of Airbus employees from the rest of the traffic) Carpooling Public Transport Airbus Bus Internal Shuttle Put in place a Metro or Tramtype TCSP* with a stop or Re-adjust the station at Saint Martin. timetables, because Connect the St Martin TCSP in the west of the the return time is and Blagnac sites urban area to serve the considered too early more efficiently districts of Brax to for ‘cadres’ (6.30 (better frequencies). It must be made easier to use Modify the bus stops (63 and 64) (particularly line 64 with stops in both directions) Connect Blagnac better, it is too much on the margins with respect to the other sites. Connections with the public transport lines closest to the Airbus sites, to avoid passing through Toulouse, particularly to the Blagnac site. Better service coordination between the stations in the west and the Airbus sites. Open company day nurseries (time savings in transport and making it possible to change habitual means of transport). Readjust the bus routes outside Toulouse Improve the Carbox service at St Eloi (at the level of booking and of the number of vehicles available) Act on property pressure and access to housing in the nearby districts or in those with a good transport service. *TCSP: Dedicated-LaneTransport System Université du Mirail - Facility Management Airbus – June 2012 16
