Activities
Hatraco is an independent trading company specialized in ignition, governing and control products for
industrial (spark ignited) reciprocating engines. 25 Years experience has lead to a situation where Hatraco can
be a good partner in the upgrade of any engine making use of the best products that the market offers in order
to create a custom made solution for both end users as well as packagers or OEM’s.
Our Mission
Hatraco has always been a party that aims to assist customers with not just a solid program of well known and
reliable products but in even so more with a great deal of product knowledge.
That know how spreading from spark plugs and ignition systems to fuel control systems and more should lead
to a trusting relation ship with customers and we are always trying to be a reliable partner in mutual
efforts to get the engine running according to expectations. Service comes first, the PO can follow later.

(Hatraco OOO) in the South Moscow Region, from where
we are covering Russia for all manufactures that are also
represented by Hatraco BV in Europe.

H I S T O R Y
History
Hatraco (Hasselaar Trading Company) was founded in 1984 by Co Hasselaar as a one-man trading
company in Zevenaar, a small city in on the eastern side of the Netherlands, near the German border.
Starting as a sales agent for gas turbines, business slowly moved towards products for industrial
gas engines. He quit his job being a sales engineer and started off on his own as a freelance sales
representative for a Belgian gas turbine packager and a turbine air filter builder. Via the gas turbine branch
he became familiar with the quickly growing Dutch market of CHP systems with reciprocating gas engines
and their great variety in application and instrumentation. In January 1987 he sold his first Altronic parts to
the Dutch Caterpillar distributor.
After that, many deliveries of Altronic parts would follow and today the company is
representing Altronic for more than 20 years. In the beginning mainly on the Dutch,
Belgian and British market. Working its way up to become a respectable Altronic dealer
in this area. More and more Hatraco became the backbone for technical information for
Altronic users on the Dutch market and later even across the borders of the “low lands”.
Not just technical support but also overhauls and repairs of Altronic ignition systems
became a considerable part of the daily business. In the mid 80’s the Dutch market was in need of a sales and
service point. Hatraco became official dealer for the Netherlands and built its own test stands, where all types
of ignition systems can be tested.
In the following years, Hatraco built up a dealer network throughout Europe and together with these
companies its main goals are to maintain Altronic’s no.1 position in the European ignition market and
penetrate the unexplored areas of Europe for business with Altronic and other engine accessories.
Besides pure trade, one of the additional activities of Hatraco is the development and assembly of a wide
variety of spark plug leads for the after market as well as for the OEM market.
A new feature is development of integrating Altronic’s CPU ignition and Exacta control systems in existing
engine and compressor installations. Hatraco is supplying completely pre-wired ignition systems as a “Plug
and Play” assembly for a wide variety of engines furnished with in-house manufactured spark plug cables.
During the last 20 years Hatraco worked it’s way up from a one person company to a respectable number of
20+ employees and celebrating it’s 25th anniversary in 2009.

Altronic
Hatraco is the only authorized Altronic service centre outside of the Altronic factory in Ohio USA. A number of special designed test benches enable us to provide service on the vast majority of the Altronic ignition program including the
Deutz TEM and Waukesha CEC ignition systems.
TDI
To assure proper customer back-up, Hatraco also provides test
and repair services on the Tech Development air starter program.
Engineering
In close cooperation with the customer, skilled Hatraco engineers and a direct
access to a range products of well known manufactures enable us to develop
tailor made systems or controls for virtually any engine application. Ignition, fuel
control, interfacing, process visualization - many wishes can be fulfilled.
Training
Schooling and on-hands training can be provided in-house or on location.
REPAIR / ENGINEERING
Services
In addition to regular sales, Hatraco offers full service on most of the ignition systems within the
Altronic program.
Also for TDI, Hatraco can test and repair a wide range of starters carrying a large amount of spare
parts in stock to enable quick repair and return to the customer.

Unshielded Ignition Rail Packages
Basic rail systems can be manufactured for nearly any engine brand for in line and V engines. Rails are
completely pre-wired and already include mounting brackets of ease of installation.
We have a standard ranges for various engine makes available but they can also be custom made to
specific wishes and applications, also for small quantities.

Unshielded Ignition Rail Packages
The Hatraco unshielded rails are practically hand-made. Dedicated people are building the rails from
scratch by hand and every wire and connection is carefully checked on quality and linkage. Finally all
rails are being tested in detail to make sure that all wires are properly connected and mounted in the
correct order.

Shielded Ignition Rail Packages
For applications in hazardous/explosion endangered environments, ignition systems can be executed in
a so called shielded version. Special CSA/ATEX certified components and connections provide extra
protection against sparks in gaseous area’s. Ignition units built in ex-proof enclosures. Shielded coils
and special Safe-T spark plug cables. Cables connected through special junction boxes and glands.

Secondary Retrofits
There is a large number of engines in the field with special OEM secondary output configurations. Some
of these special designs have turned out to be unreliable and extremely expensive to replace. Hatraco has
designed a number of solutions to retrofit these special set-ups into a simple and straight forward
installation making use of standard, well proven products like the ignition coils from the Altronic
program. We have solutions for Jenbacher 300 & 600 series, Cummins QSK, Deutz TBG and more.

Spark Plug Cables / Unshielded secondary leads
Hatraco offers a large program of standard spark plug cables, based on a high quality PTFE (Teflon®)
spark plug extension. In house production provides short lead times and a high grade of flexibility with
respect to quantities, sizes, configurations and connector types. Extensions can be fitted with RFI
reducing resistorized inserts. All extensions are being checked 100% on electrical conductivity and
resistance value.

Hatraco offers the broadest range of industrial spark plugs in Europe. Nearly all leading spark plug
manufacturers that offer industrial, heavy duty spark plugs are direct suppliers to Hatraco. With a large
spark plug inventory and a great deal of experience, Hatraco can offer a plug for just about any industrial
application.

Spark Plugs, OEM-Specials and shielded
Next to the unshielded, standard industrial spark plug lines there is also a range of special spark plugs.
Shielded plugs: for use in hazardous environments in combination with metal braided cabling.
OEM plugs: spark plugs that are designed for specific engines at specific conditions like special gases,
very lean mixtures or pre-chamber combustion. Hatraco can offer most OE plugs at competitive prices.

OIL & GAS
For major Oil & Gas companies throughout the whole of Europe, Hatraco has supplied many
Sophisticated Fuel Control-, Ignition- and Starting systems. The same people that have sold the products will also be there to assist with installation and help out with configuration, programming and
finally starting up the engines. Training and instruction can be given on-site at the engine or elsewhere
by means of demonstration devices that will show all features of the systems. All products will be
supplied with required product certificates and installation drawings.

IGNITION ACCESSORIES
The BG Service Company is a well known source for a large program of special ignition accessories.
For the heavy duty application, BG offers a wide range of metal braided or so called “shielded” primary
and secondary ignition cables for reciprocating engine as well as gas turbines. There is a large program
of other cables, harnesses and leads for Burners, Boilers, Dryers, Flarestacks & Ovens. Many types
of spark plug (adapter) extensions and termination kits with lots of different connectors are available.
Further more, BG carries its own spark plug line and a range of testing devices like: timing lights, coil
testers, primary testers, special pliers and crimp tools. Finally there is a range of electric feedthroughs.

in-line regenerative adsorption system. Volatile Methyl Siloxanes (VMS) are widely used in personal
care products such as deodorants, tooth-pastes, skin care preparations, hair conditioners and used as
cleaning agents of electronic circuitry. The waste from these industries are frequently disposed of in
landfill sites. As organic matter decomposes it produces methane and carbon dioxide. The Siloxanes
blend with this and contaminate the gas which is used to fuel engines that produce electricity.

department. A complete line of digital monitoring devices is available for integration into Altronic

monitoring and control systems. A partial list includes single and multipoint digital temperature gauges
and scanners, pyrometers, pressure gauges and monitors, tachometers, and overspeed, and hourmeter
devices. Many of these products are suitable for use in environmentally harsh or hazardous areas.

Altronic is the worldwide leader in industrial Ignition systems for spark ignited, natural gas fuelled
