Introduction
The Single Action Shooting Society® (SASS®) is the governing and sanctioning body for the sport of Cowboy Action ShootingTM and Wild
BunchTM Action ShootingTM, worldwide.
For over 30 years, as the popularity of Cowboy Action ShootingTM continued to gain popularity, numerous championships were added to the
sanctioning program to answer the call of shooters demand across the country.
The 2015 SASS® Sanctioning Program will include the introduction of three Divisional Championships, as we continue to meet the demand
and celebrate the continued growth and popularity of Cowboy Action ShootingTM and SASS®, with membership in SASS® having now soared to
over 100,000 members worldwide.
SASS Sanctioning Structure
®
State —> Regional —> Divisional —> National —> World
Champion Entry Recognition
Each State Championship declares two overall winners — the top male and female winners from that state.
The Regional Championships honor free entries to the two recognized state winners from each state within their respective Region and will
declare two winners, male and female residents within their Region, for advancement to their respective Divisional.
The Divisional Championships honor free entries to the two recognized (male and female) Regional winners form each Regional within
their Division and will recognize the top male and female competitors who are residents of their Division for advancement to the National
Championship.
The National Championship honors free entries to the two winners (male and female) from each of the three Divisionals and will recognize the
Category Champions for each honored category for promotion to the World Championship.
The World Championship honors a free entry to each Category Champion at the National level.
Determining The Overall Champions
The declared Overall Champion in each championship case must be a resident of that said State for State
Championships - that said Region for Regionals - that said Division for Divisionals, and of The United States for
the National Championship. The World Championship is the only SASS® Championship that has no residence
restriction or requirement. “Residence”, if in doubt, will be determined by a current valid driver’s license. Active
military residence will be determined by where the individual is currently stationed.
