At Pergo, caring for the environment has played a central role in everything we do since we first began making laminate floors. It affects our
products, our production, and our choice of raw materials, processes,
suppliers, transportation and packaging.
Recycling is a key part of our environmental policy. 80 % of the content of our products consists
of wood surplus from the wood industry. We use only renewable wood products such as pine and
spruce – never exotic woods or wood from rainforests that are threatened with extinction.
With our firm commitment to care for the environment, Pergo was the first laminate flooring
company to receive certification following ISO 14001, showing we have an approved environmental management system.
We are also the first flooring manufacturer to ever achieve the official Nordic Ecolabel, the Green
Swan. The Swan represents that our products are certified as a good environmental choice, with
respect to the product’s overall impact on the environment from raw material to waste.
Our PEFC certified products (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes)
signify that the wood used in these products originate from sustainably managed forests.
Another environmental advantage of Pergo laminate floors is the high amount of thermal energy
that can be extracted when burned at waste incineration plants. We use this property to increase
the energy efficiency of our own operations, recycling all wood waste from our milling and sawing
processes to heat our production facilities.

This year, for example, we are presenting four new formats. This gives you a total of nine formats
to choose between so you can achieve the perfect look.

Enhancing the feeling
Some of our floors are created with bevelled edges to highlight the natural feeling of traditional
wooden planks or classic parquet, where each individual strip is accentuated.
Ship’s Deck, for example, provides a classic maritime atmosphere with lengthwise bevelled edges
in light or dark tones.
Detailed surface texture
Matt finish gives an authentic oiled wood feeling while a textured surface simulates the feeling
of a lived-in floor. Our Genuine™ surface texture closely follows every detail of natural looking wood
grains. This year’s newcomers include two new textures for oak plank and blocked oak.
Floor tiles
Our floor tiles also come in various surfaces, with authentic coloured grout lines to emphasise the
joints and convey the impression of a genuine stone floor. These features are designed to enhance
the impression of ceramics – smooth, slate or textured. Concrete and micro-lines are two exciting
textures in new colours with a powerful sense of trends.

Our floors spread a feeling of comfort and wellbeing in domestic and public

The reason is simple: a Pergo floor keeps its elegant finish year in and year out. The secret lies in our patented TitanX™ surface protection – technology that provides superior resistance to wear, scratching and impact.
Our very best floors even come with TitanX™ Advanced, for environments that demand extreme durability.
Wear protection
Pergo has up to three surface layers where many others settle for just one. We also bring added protection through a unique hardening compound incorporating aluminium oxide particles.
Impact resistance
The TitanX™ Advanced surface, with its extra impact layers, makes the floors far more resistant to impact
and falling objects compared to ordinary laminate floors.
Scratch resistance
Pergo has an extra layer of aluminium oxide particles that make it more resistant to scratches than most
comparable laminate floors. For our test (see below) we use Scotch Brite abrasive fleeces. One part of the
surface is rubbed 160 times at a load of 0,4 kg, then we look for scratches. Another part of the surface
is rubbed 80 times at a load of 0,6 kg, then we measure the change of gloss. We compare our TitanX™
solutions with four other laminate floors.

Voltage (kV)
Antistatic resistance
The European method EN 1815 is used to
measure the body voltage a walking person
collects when walking on a floor. A value
below 2 kV is required for antistatic floorings.
• Our patented SoftTech™ technology makes the floor even
quieter by placing a sound-blocking layer under the laminate surface. This reduces ‘drum sound’
– the noise you hear in the room when someone walks on the floor. It also improves energy absorption
for better ergonomic properties than ordinary laminate flooring.
• Pergo has also developed and patented a technology that gives selected floors permanent
antistatic properties throughout the life of the floor. This innovation reduces unpleasant electrostatic
charges and fulfils antistatic classification according to EN 14041.
• Another example of Pergo’s quest for perfection is that selected floors come with
antimicrobial properties which radically improves hygiene – without use of chemicals. The secret
is an addition of silver in the floor, which starves bacteria in a natural and proven way.
Our quality levels
This year Pergo floors come in four quality levels, making it easier to select floors for different needs
and environments.
Public Extreme is the highest level and intended for the most demanding public environments.
Next comes Original Excellence for public environments and more exposed home environments.
Living Expression is suitable for both normal wear in public environments and high wear in home
environments, while Domestic Extra is intended for normal wear in home environments.

Cleaning instructions
One of the many advantages with floors from Pergo is that
they are easy to keep clean and beautiful. To make the
cleaning even more hassle free, Pergo also offers cleaning products specially developed for laminate floors. By
following these simple cleaning tips you will enjoy your Pergo
floors for many years to come.
Ordinary cleaning
Vacuum (without the beater bar) or sweep the floor using the
Pergo mop to remove dirt and dust. Occasionally wipe with
a damp Pergo cloth.
Removing ordinary stains
1. Spray Pergo Floor Cleaner directly on the stains/spillages.
2. Let Pergo Floor Cleaner dissolve stains for a few minutes.
3. Clean the floor with a damp mop (using only water).
Your Pergo floor should not be waxed or polished. Never
scrub with steel wool or any other abrasive material as this
may effect the appearance or texture. Some textures sometimes require special cleaning. If your Pergo floor has any
of the following textures please follow these instructions for
best results.
Matt textures
In general, dirt sticks harder to floors with matt textures. We
therefore recommend that you clean the floor more regularly.
Spray Pergo Floor Cleaner directly on a damp mop and
clean the floor.
A greasy-looking surface can occur if you have cleaned
the floor in the wrong way, for example using too much
detergent or the wrong detergent, such as soap. To remove
this film spray Pergo Floor Cleaner over the whole floor and
wait a few minutes for the detergent to dissolve the dirt/
grease. Damp-mop the floor and dry-mop afterwards. Repeat this procedure until the dirt or greasy film is removed.
Polished texture
Dried watermarks are often more visible on polished
textures. Therefore, for best results, always wipe with a dry
mop after damp cleaning.
Floors with bevelled edges
Floors with bevelled edges are more sensitive to water since
the bevel acts as a pocket where water can collect. Never
wet-clean the floor. Cleaning with a slightly damp mop
(a very well wrung mop) is possible occasionally but make
sure no water has collected in the bevel. Always dry-mop
the floor immediately after cleaning.

Protect your floor
Although laminate floors are very resistant to wear and
scratches, use felt pads under furniture legs, and pads or
plastic cups under chair legs as an added precaution. And
always use a doormat in the front entrance.
