EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY
M/s. OSK ROS Marine Pvt. Ltd. (ORMPL) is a Joint Venture
initiative between M/s. Dynatron Services Pvt. Ltd. and
Russian Federation Agencies, namely USC Rosoboronexport,
JSC United Ship Building Corporation (OSK) and JSC
Sevmash Shipyard. It has state-of-the-art marine engineering
workshops.
Based in Karwar, in close proximity to Indian Naval base INS
Kadamba and Naval Ship Repair Yard (Karwar), the facility is
spread over 3 acres of land including the following –
Hull and pipe shop
Electronics facility
Machine shop
Admin block (including lodging facilities for visitors)
The facility has spread over 11280 Sq m with covered
workshop area of 3630 Sq m; and is the only facility of its
kind in a 100 km radius from Karwar
Due to harmonious business relationships with OEMs,
ORMPL is poised to garner business from NSRY, Karwar as
well as from other Repair Agencies requiring engineering
expertise on the platforms fitted with Russian Equipment and
Systems.

INS KADAMBA
INS VIKRAMADITYA
The Naval Base at Karwar is the country’s third largest
Naval Base and is expected to grow to be one of the biggest
Naval Bases after completion of Phase 2 by 2025.
INS Vikramaditya is a 45,000 tons modified Kiev Class Aircraft
Carrier commissioned into the Indian Navy in 2013 with a
lifespan of 40 years.
It is envisaged that on completion of Phase 2, Karwar
NavaI Base will have berthing facilities to accommodate 60
front-line warships, tugs and barges, a naval air station with a
6,000-feet runway, Armament depot and a Naval Dockyard
Complex.
The refit cycle of the ship includes an Short Refits(SRs) and
Medium Refits(MRs). These refits are undertaken after
well-defined periodic intervals as defined by the Navy's
maintenance policy. During these lay-offs, the ship is also dry
docked at least once in five years. It is estimated that the
maintenance and upkeep cost of the ship would work out to be
at least Rs500 to Rs700 Cr in a 10 year cycle.
The base port of the Navy's prestigious aircraft carrier INS
Vikramaditya is also Karwar.
As per contract between ROE and Government of India, JSC
Sevmash Shipyard, Russia, where the ship was refitted and
modernized, is to provide a single window "after sales support".
M/s OSK ROS Marine Pvt. Ltd. has been authorized by the
Russian Authorities to be their reliable partner in India for
carrying out repair and maintenance activities related to the
aircraft carrier

WORK UNDERTAKEN ON VKD
Valves: Repair of valves including valves of steam system,
Under Water, feed water and HP air system Pipes. Extensive
renewal of Cu-Ni and steel pipes of various systems.
Underwater Repair: In-situ renewal of 710 mm dia
underwater pipe of main circulator outlet.
Machining: Several manufacturing/machining jobs
have been undertaken to successfully repair defective units/
sub-assemblies. Jobs included manufacturing of spindles,
adapters, nipples, wear rings, gland bushes etc.
Fabrication: Renewal of ventilation trunking in several
compartments. In addition new ventilation trunkings for
supply of cooling air for Boiler Controls were fabricated as per
design specs of Russian.
Supply Chain Management: Extensive liaisoning with
OEMs like Wartsila, Rochem and Burchardt etc resulted in
timely provisioning of spares and successful repairs in a time
bound manner of several critical equipment.

The JV entity, OSK ROS Marine Pvt. Ltd. has the
authorisation for lifetime support of the Vikramaditya over
the next 40 years
OSK ROS Marine Pvt. Ltd. also has invested in Yoeman
Marine Pvt. Ltd. giving it an experienced and capable
workforce with experience in Ship Repairs, pre-fit of Defence
Platforms, Upgradation/Installation of Equipment and
Systems and Retro-fitment. M/s. Yeoman Marine is registered
with both Indian Navy and Coast Guard, and have been
carrying out repair works on board their ships and submarines
