In operation since 1993, the 35,000 tonne facility serves the waste
diversion needs of the Bas-Richelieu Regional County Municipality
for both organics as well as recyclables. The enclosed processing
building manages both mixed solid waste and source-separated
organics. It includes a rotating bioreactor, sorting lines and
enclosed composting bays, enabling the facility to achieve, on
average, over 70% diversion annually.
Enviroval inc.
Enviroval inc. has been composting approximately 30,000 tonnes of yard waste,
IC&I and household residuals and animal manures annually for the past 4 years.
The feedstocks come from across the province, but mostly from the greater City
of Québec region.
