INSPECTIONAll cattle may be inspected prior to sale by phoning vendors
or on sale day from 9am.
DELIVERY
Delivery will be given on sale day or up to 1 month after
sale. All care is given however no responsibility is taken.
INSURANCE Representative will be in attendance. Cover can be arranged
from the fall of the hammer.
TRANSPORT Carrriers in attendance on the day.
HEALTH
Cattle from confirmed FREE herd. Bulls vaccinated three
times with 5 in 1 & twice with 7 in 1. Pestiguard x 2. Vendors
will inoculate bulls going into tick areas if requested by
purchaser.
REFRESHMENTS A BBQ & light refreshments will be available on
sale day.

BREEDPLAN INFORMATION
Breedplan is a performance evaluation programme that describes the genetic merit of commercially important traits. This genetic merit is given as an Estimated Breeding Value (EBV) for
each trait. The averages for calves born in 2014 is shown below.
Birth Weight EBV(kg) is based on the measured birth weight of progeny, adjusted for dam age.
The lower the value the lighter the calf at birth and the lower the likelihood of a difficult birth. This is particularly important when selecting sires to use over heifers.
200-Day Growth EBV (kg) is calculated from the weight of progeny taken between 80 and 300
day of age, adjusted to 200 days and for age of dam. This EBV is the best single estimate of an
animals. genetic merit for yearling weight.
400-Day Weight EBV (kg) is calculated from weight of progeny taken between 301-500 days of
age, adjusted to 400 days and for age of dam.
600-Day Weight EBV (kg) is calculated from the weight of progeny taken between 501-900 days
of age, adjusted to 600 days and for age of dam.
Mature Cow Weight EBV (kg) is based on the cow weight when the calf is weighted for weaning, adjusted to 6 years of age.
Milk EBV(kg) is an estimate of an animals milking ability. For sires, this EBV indicated the
effect of the daughters milking ability, inherited from the sire, on the 200 dy weight of her calves.
For dams, it indicates her milking ability.
Scrotal Size EBV(cm) is from the circumference of the scrotum taken between 3300-700dys
of age and adjusted to 400dys of age. This EBV is an estimate of an animals genetic merit for
scrotal size. There is also a small negative correlation with age of puberty in female progeny
and therefore selection for increased scrotal size will result in reduced age at calving of female
progeny.
Carcase Weight EBV (kg) is based on abattoir carcase records and is an indicator of the genetic
differences in carcase weight at the standard age of 650 days.
Eye Muscle Area EBV (sq cm) is calculated from measurements from live animal ultrasound
scans and from abattoir carcase data, adjusted to a standard 300kg carcase. This EBV estimates
genetic differences in eye muscle area at the 12/13th rib site of a 300kg dressed carcase. +EBV
indicate better muscling on animals.
Rib Fat & Rump Fat EBVs (mm) are calculated from measurements of subcutaneous fat depth at
the 12/13 rib site and the P8 rump site (from live animal ultrasound scans & abattoir carcase) and
are adjusted to a standard 300kg carcase.
Retail Beef Yield EBV (%) indicates genetic differences between animals for retails yield % in
a standard 300kg carcase. Sires with larger EBVs are expected to produce progeny with higher
yielding carcases.
Intramuscular Fat EBV (%) is an estimate of the genetic difference in the percentage of intraluscular fat at the 12/13th rib site in a 300kg carcase. Depending on market, larger more positive
values are generally more favourable.

Health & Safety of Visitors to Our Sale
All the sale bulls have been screened for temperament and are quiet to handle under
normal circumstances. However there are inherent risks associated with cattle handling.
People entering the yards are at risk of injury. Be especially alert of bulls fighting and
if one is playful with you, do not respond by patting his head. What a bull considers
a playful nudge can break human legs! We do not expect the bulls to be aggressive
with humans, but sale day places extraordinary pressure on them as they experience an
entirely foreign environment. Remember the quietest bull is in fact an unpredictable
animal.
Do not crowd the bulls or loiter inside the pens. We cannot cover every example of the
dangers of cattle handling, so please use common sense and be alert at all times. Don’t
enter the pens unnecessarily.
Please call upon any of the agents or ourselves for an escort through the bulls if required. The days of bravado with stock have passed under current OH&S legislation.
VISITORS ENTER THE CATTLE PENS AT THEIR OWN RISK. CHILDREN UNDER
14 YEARS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AT ALL TIMES BY AN ADULT.
CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. That the highest bidder shall be the purchaser, and in the event of any dispute arising it shall
be settled by the Auctioneer, unless one of the claimant will advance, in which case the lot or lots
shall be put up again. The Auctioneer reserves the right of one bid on behalf of the vendor.
2. The purchaser shall deposit twenty five %, or the whole amount of the purchase money (if
required) at any time during the sale. 3. Pro-forma delivery shall be deemed to have been given on the fall of the hammer and all stock
shall be paid for in cash immediately at conclusion of the sale and prior to delivery but in the
event of delivery being made or possession obtained by the purchaser or his representative prior
to payment of purchase money, then until payment in full of the purchase money or any cheques
given on account of same, the purchaser to hold stock as trustee only for the vendors.
4. Each lot shall be at the risk and the expense of the purchaser immediately upon the fall of the
hammer and shall be taken delivery with all faults and errors of description except where other
wise undertaken by the vendor.
5. No female is warranted either to be or not to be in calf.
6. Lots wil not necessarily be offered in numerical order.
7. No warranty is given by the Auctioneer with any lot and as all lots are available for inspection
previous to the commencement of the sale the same are sold with all faults, if any. No compensation shall be made in respect of any fault or error of description of any lots sold, if the purchaser
shall neglect or fail to comply with any of the above conditions andy stock purchased by him
may be immediately resold by public auction or private contract with or without notice, at the
risk of the former purchaser, who will be held responsible for all loss and the expense arising out
of such resale and shall not participate in any profits accruing therefrom.
8. The auctioneer may, with out giving any reason therefore, refuse to accept the bidding of any
person or persons.
9. Act No 28, 1841. In conformity with Section 47 of the above Act buyers attention is drawn to
the relevant matter contained in Section 45 & 46 of Act No 28, 1941.
10. The purchaser authorises the Auctioneer and /or the Auctioneer’s clerk to sign on his behalf,
the contract of Sale, which with these conditions shall constitute the whole contract between
vendor and purchaser to the exclusion of everything else including warranties otherwise implied
by law.
