Aarco Products provides traditional products that over
the decades of service are understood by many to be standard.
Take for instance our enclosed Box Chalktray
(Figure 1). This “Standard Component” is 3 1/2" deep
overall and 2 1/2" High. These dimensions are necessary
for a 100% performance as anything Smaller will not facilitate everyday use. Also, provided “Standard” are molded
zinc end caps (Figure 2) which are durable and provide safety
for the teachers and students alike.
Many of the small details are often overlooked when larger
details prevail. At Aarco Products we never overlook details
that are fundamental to our products’ quality.
It is details like these that we urge the Architectural Professional
to insist upon when choosing the right products for their project.

the trim and map rails are factory
attached. Chalktrays and concealed mounting hangers are
shipped separately in full length
and mounted to the wall surface
first. Boards are simultaneously
placed over the top hangers and
inserted into the chalktray. On
series 10-820, “Snap-on” Trim,
all trim and boards are shipped
unassembled. Fabricating is done
on site. The maximum continuous
length of the chalktray is 24' and
the maximum length of the writing surface is 16'. Wider
surfaces are available as multiple
units. The minimum thickness of
any aluminum section is .062.
One “L” bracket is supplied

VITRE-STEEL Porcelain on Steel Writing Surfaces
Aarco’s Vitre-Steel is manufactured in accordance
with the Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) standards
and is produced by a continuous coil process to
insure the highest quality and consistent finish.
Vitre-Steel is a strong, hard, non-porous surface
that is virtually indestructible. The porcelain on steel
surface is fired at 1364° F. for Chalkboards and at
1472° F. for Markerboards. Both sides receive a base
coat of porcelain enamel. The face side is fired a
second time for a carefully controlled finish and color.
Standard sizes include heights of 48" or 60" and
up to 192" (16') in length.
Markerboards are now available in two great
finishes Low Gloss off-white and High Gloss
White (see comparison for important details).

Fused Lines and Graphics
We have selected 5 of the most frequently requested patterns.
These patterns are permanently fused with the ceramic steel surface
of our Low Glosss Markerboards making them virtually indestructible
when used under normal conditions. The imprinted lines and print
copy are UV, wear and scratch resistant and because they are
fused within the surface they do not interfere with normal marker use.
These patterns are offered both as independently framed units
or as integral components of larger boards. For component pricing you
must supply additional specifications.

Vertical Sliding Units

This “Top of the line” Visual Communication Product offers
unlimited work space in normal size rooms. Aarco’s high
quality vertical sliding units are uniquely designed to stack
one in front of another. Our convenient removable face
frame allows the addition of a second or third sliding track
at a later date.
The smooth sliding panels move easily up and down on
ball bearing rollers and are counter balanced with lead
weights. See figure 1. Vertical motion is effortless.
All units are constructed of heavy duty aluminum for
superior strength and durability.
Vertical sliding units can be equipped with a fixed rear
panel of your choice or can be left open for convenient
access to storage space behind. See figure 2 for housing
dimensions and extrusion profiles.
All units are shipped KD and are easy to assemble.

10-700 Wall Mounted Vertical Units
The 10-700 is wall mounted and does not feature a
kick panel. The 10-700 is best applied to rooms where
ceiling height is minimal. When designed without a fixed
rear panel, the area behind the sliding panels can be
used to store items such as laboratory equipment.

As an added feature of the vertical
sliding unit, the 10-900 model features
movement of the sliding panels to the
very bottom of the vertical rail. This
feature allows the full exposure of the
fixed rear panel for use as a projection
screen. The sliding panels and the kick
panel are all equal in height and width.
This permits the sliding panel to
completely hide when moved to its
lowest position.

Horizontal Sliding Units
Turn even a small conference room or classroom into a huge multimedia communication center.
The Horizontal Sliding Unit can be used to combine writing
boards, display boards, magnetic boards and projection surfaces.
Sliding panels hang from nylon carrier rollers, top mounted to
a monorail type track (See figure 2). The bottom trim is equipped
with a bearing type guide which rides securely in a full length track
(See figure 3).
The result is smooth and easy movement of the panels from
left to right. This permits different panels to be viewed at
different times, thereby doubling, tripling or even quadrupling
the working area.
Use your imagination and select any combination of writing
boards and display boards shown on pages 3 and 4 for fixed and
sliding panels. Specify if no fixed panel is required. Sizes range
from 4' to 5' in height and up to 24' in length. Equipped with
2" x 2" Aluminum angles for sturdy wall mounting.

Choose from our wood veneer units that combine hand rubbed wood
panels with solid bullnose hardwood edges to produce a rich warm natural

Standard units are 5” deep overall with a 4” fascia concealing an pull
down glass bead projection screen. Doors are mounted to the cabinet body
with full length piano hinges and remain closed with magnetic door catches.
Center panels and inside door panels can be any combination of panels
shown on pages 4 and 5. Left inside door panel contains a spring loaded
pad holder. All units are equipped with a full length concealed mounting

Modular Boards
Aarco Portable Modular Boards can be moved
from room to room or wall to wall easily. A
screwdriver is all that is needed to unlock these
boards. Additionally, boards can be raised or
lowered in height to conform to the users comfort, even from a seated position. At the same
time, boards are safely locked into position when
in use. (See figure 1).
