Our convenient schedules will allow you to work full-time or part-time while completing your degree.* * Please contact the campus of your choice for class schedule availability. One Class at a Time In the undergraduate degree programs at Everglades University, students complete one class per month. Taking one class at a time promotes concentration in each individual class and will allow you to balance your education with the daily demands of our modern fast-paced world. In the graduate degree programs at Everglades University, you can complete one or two classes within a two month time period. “No Hassle” Approach As a student at Everglades University, you will never have to be concerned with scheduling classes or needing a class that may not be offered in a particular semester. Everglades University’s “no hassle” approach to scheduling means that we build your entire schedule until graduation. You will not have to go through the aggravation of standing in long lines to register for class or obtain your class materials. Furthermore, your schedule will reflect only the classes necessary for your degree. You will not have to experience registering for an unnecessary class or encounter gaps in your schedule. An accurate schedule tailored to your degree program allows you to graduate as quickly as possible. Bookstore The Everglades University Bookstore offers a number of services that make returning to school a “no hassle” process. If you are an online student, once you are registered for class the bookstore provides automatic shipping of your books. Additionally, the on-campus bookstore gives you the opportunity to select your books in a relaxed “no hassle” environment. Student Services The U.S. Green Building Council and Everglades University has partnered together weaving the principles of sustainability, green building, nutrition,and environmental consciousness into its undergraduate degree programs. These enhancements provide opportunities for EU students to prepare for certificates in the sustainability field, such as the LEED Green AP certification. Academic Advising Academic Counselors are available to you in person, via phone, or online. During your academic advisory meetings, you will discuss your schedule, progress reports, grade point average, and attendance. Your Academic Counselor will help to assist you in reaching your academic goals and aspirations. Florida’s Statewide Course Numbering System Courses offered at Everglades University are identified by prefixes and numbers that were assigned by Florida’s Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS). This numbering system is used by all public postsecondary institutions in Florida and participating non-public institutions. The major purpose of this system is to facilitate the transfer of courses between participating institutions. Our faculty members hold either a Master’s or Doctoral degree in their area of specialty. The Main Campus of Everglades University is located in Boca Raton, Florida, which is conveniently accessible for residents of both Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The Boca Raton Campus provides ample free parking and is easily reached by I-95, Tri-Rail, and public bus service. The University building encompasses over 37,000 square feet of air-conditioned and well-lit offices, classrooms, computer labs, a library and a student lounge. The Online Division of Everglades University is located on the second floor of the Boca Raton Main Campus. History The history of Everglades University is both unique and diverse. Over the past two decades, the university has grown from a small college specializing in the aviation field to a comprehensive university offering both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in multiple disciplines. Everglades University began in September 1990 when American Flyers College (now Everglades University) was founded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In the fall of 1999, the name was changed to Everglades College. In 2003, Everglades College expanded to the West Coast of Florida with the opening of the Sarasota Branch Campus. Later that year, Everglades College received approval to offer Master’s Degrees. In December of 2003, Everglades College officially changed its name to Everglades University and in April of 2004, relocated its main campus to Boca Raton, Florida. In August of 2004, the University was granted approval to open the Orlando Branch Campus. In September of 2014, Everglades University was granted approval for its off-campus instructional site of the Sarasota Branch Campus in Tampa, FL. In October of 2014, Everglades University was granted approval to relocate the Orlando Branch Campus to its new location in Maitland, FL. The university occupies approximately 36,000 square feet of space. This includes well-lit offices, classrooms, two computer labs, two student lounges and a student career center. The Sarasota Campus shares a spacious library with a relaxing study area and a large auditorium with state-of-the-industry technology with Keiser University. The campus is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of 20 plus acres bordered by Lake Osprey. The Sarasota Campus is a branch of the main campus in Boca Raton, Florida. The Orlando Branch Campus of Everglades University is located in a spacious 28,000 square-foot building on Trafalgar Court, Maitland, Florida. The facility houses well-lit offices, classrooms, a computer lab, a library, faculty lounge and a student lounge. The campus is conveniently located close to I-4, the Sunrail Station, Orlando International Airport, Altamonte Mall, and Florida Hospital. The Orlando Campus is a branch of the main campus in Boca Raton, Florida. Known as a beautiful vacation spot for tourists, Sarasota has become home to a diverse population. Sarasota offers gorgeous sprawling beaches, a number of leisure activities, cultural events, museums, and a magnificent year-round climate. The three – story building features classrooms designed for an ideal learning environment; a computer lab, library, student lounge, 17 classrooms, 3 laboratories, and 15 offices. The off-campus instructional site of the Sarasota Branch Campus is the newest campus location for Everglades University and offers a convenient option for those in or near the Tampa area. Apply online at EvergladesUniversity.edu 5 Graduate Degrees Master’s Degree in Aviation Science The Master’s Degree in Aviation Science (MAS) provides a unique learning experience for aviation industry professionals. Combining a variety of aviation and aerospace courses, this program will enable graduates to broaden their knowledge of the aviation industry by understanding relevant theories and principles of aerospace and their application to real-world situations. Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship Students will complete technical aviation coursework that will include intensive analysis of airway transportation systems, aerospace communication systems, aviation human factors and psychology. Concentrations are available in Aviation Operations Management, Aviation Security, and Business Administration. Graduates will be skilled in advanced research, formal writing techniques, and prepared for a beyond entry-level career in aviation. The Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship is designed to administer a challenging learning environment with an emphasis on entrepreneurial theories and practice. This program provides students with the skills needed to understand the risks and rewards associated with developing a working model from which to start an innovative business venture. As a graduate, you will be able to analyze various models and demonstrate effective decision-making practices. Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration The Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration (MPH) provides students with a well-rounded view of the field in public health. The MPH curriculum implements a challenging and creative learning environment with an intensive program of study that has a broad-based administrative emphasis. A concentration in Master’s Degree in Business Administration The Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) will qualify students to meet the market conditions that require graduate degrees for middle-management or higher-level employment. This program can also equip you with the knowledge that is necessary to launch your own business. The MBA program is designed to provide you with advanced theoretical concepts and knowledge from all functional areas of business through an analytical, decision-making process which focuses on solving practical problems. Concentrations are available in Accounting for Managers, Aviation Management, Construction Management, Human Resource Management, and Project Management. Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) is available with this degree program. This concentration gives the student a unique perspective on the emerging field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine integration within healthcare systems and policy. The degree offers personal fulfillment by working towards improving the public’s health and well-being. Students entering this program with previous vocational, technical training, or an Associate’s Degree will gain the knowledge necessary for advancement in the alternative medicine environment. Everglades University is proud to be one of the few regionally accredited universities offering such a comprehensive alternative medicine degree program. This degree will empower the graduate to become a well-rounded and educated professional with a broad basis for decision making in the ever-changing field of healthcare. The Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Construction Management prepares graduates for a productive career in the industry as a construction manager, project manager, and many more occupations. This degree program focuses on the management skills and business knowledge required for the continually changing environment of the construction industry. This degree program delivers instruction in specific technical and occupational subjects such as Land Use Planning Regulations, Oil, Gas and Energy Geopolitics and Law, Communication and Environmental Justice, and Geographic Information System Data Analysis and Mapping (GIS). Applicants should submit their applications well in advance of the start date desired to permit proper scheduling and assure availability. Our Admissions Offices are open throughout the week during the following hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am- 8:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm; and Saturday, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm and by appointment. Home-School Applicants Applicants must hold a University recognized High School Diploma or GED equivalence. International students are required to pay for each semester (period of financial obligation), including tuition, books, and education fees, prior to the start of each semester. International students attending Everglades University on a student visa must be enrolled as full-time students. International student applicants must meet all admissions requirements for undergraduate students and the following requirements for admission to Everglades University: • Successful completion of a secondary school program equivalent to high school in the United States or graduation from a college or university found to be equivalent to graduation from a college or university in the United States. In order for Everglades University to provide these services, applicants should demonstrate to the University both the ability and motivation to succeed. 12 (ACT). The University’s requirements for admission are a score of at least 15 on the University’s entrance exam, or a combined score of 800 on the SAT, or a composite score of 17 on the ACT. Students taking the SAT after March 2005 are required to have a combined score of 1200. Florida’s CLAST exam is also acceptable with passing scores or exempt scores (997,998,999) in computation and reading. Any student entering the University with an earned college degree is not required to take an entrance examination. Everglades University reserves the right to accept ten percent of its applicants who do not meet the appropriate entrance test score requirements. If accepted for admission, a student must maintain satisfactory academic progress per the University policy. Everglades University reserves the right to accept ten percent of its applicants who do not meet the minimum entrance test score requirements, taking into account other factors that may indicate a student’s qualifications for admission. Applicants entering with an accredited bachelor’s degree in the discipline or closely related discipline will not be required to complete the prerequisite courses.
