Diversification in the sectors where we do business and the ability to seize opportunities in constantly

Environmental Engineering
Established in 1879, Maccaferri is the core of the Industrial Group bearing the same name and its continuing
growth is based on strong values of innovation, integrity, service excellence and respect for the
environment. Our mission is to become a leading international provider of advanced solutions to the civil,
geotechnical and environmental construction markets. Our solutions range from erosion protection to
hydraulic works and from rockfall mitigation systems to soil reinforcement. By implementing a strategy of
vertical integration, we research, manufacture, design, supply and build solutions within these fields. Our
differentiating factor is our people and their technical capability: with nearly 3,000 employees, 30
production facilities and local activities in 100 countries around the world, we have a global experience with
local knowledge.

Mechanical Engineering
Founded in Bologna in 1936, the SAMP Group is a reality of global significance that operates in the field of
mechanical engineering. The Group is made up of four independent companies, each one of them focusing
on their specific technological and market requirements: Sampsistemi, Samputensili Cutting Tools,
Samputensili Machine Tools and Sampingranaggi. Sampsistemi offers innovative solutions for the
production of wires and cables for telecommunications as well as low, medium and high voltage
applications. Samputensili Cutting Tools is one of the world leaders in the manufacturing of gear cutting
tools. Samputensili Machine Tools is the partner of choice in the production of machine tools for the
roughing and finishing of gears, screws and rotors. Sampingranaggi is a leading manufacturer of gears,
rotors and gear boxes for high precision applications. The SAMP Group works closely with its customers
through a highly developed network of sales, service and manufacturing units in Europe, America and Asia.

Real Estate and Construction
SECI Real Estate operates, directly or through partnerships, in the real estate sector, boasting a long
tradition in the development of important initiatives primarily focused on commercial, office and logistics‐
production areas. The urban redevelopment of large industrial facilities is the mission that has always
guided the company, which is accompanied by activities of acquisition and enhancement of areas and
properties. SECI Real Estate provides Project Management services through its subsidiary M PROJECT and it
is present in the construction sector through S.A.P.A.B.A., which specializes in mining and processing of raw
materials, gravel, cement and bituminous concrete. Owing to two sand mining concessions, one in the
central Adriatic coast and the other in the southern Tyrrhenian sea, SECI Real Estate, through Arenaria,
correspondingly operates in the field of coastal protection.

Energy
Alternative energy production by means of renewable sources is at the heart of SECI Energia, which
combines the Industrial Group’s historical know‐how with the innovative push provided by its new
components. Founded in 2006, SECI Energia is the sub‐holding in the energy sector; through its operating
companies in which it holds the shares, SECI Energia oversees the markets of renewable sources in Italy and
abroad, working in the design, construction, management and maintenance of facilities for the production
of renewable energy. The historical tendency to diversification, enriched by a relevant know‐how in the
industrial plant engineering and in the agro‐industrial sector, led SECI Energia to operate successfully in all
fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency: from biomass to biogas, from wind and photovoltaics to
hydropower, from energy recovery to efficient energy management.

Food and Agro‐industry
Active in the sugar industry for over seventy years under the brand name Sadam, with our acquisition of the
historic Eridania brand in 2003, we became Eridania Sadam, thus consolidating a leading position in the
Italian sweeteners industry. From 2009, we also became a significant player in the national field of natural
and synthetic sweeteners. To meet the needs of an evolving market, in 2010 Eridania Italia was created, a
company that, in partnership with Cristal Union (France), a leading European sugar manufacturer, manages
the marketing and distribution of sugar and sweeteners in the Italian market and its product packaging
facility in Russi (Ravenna, Italy). The following corporate entities are also part of the overall Group:
Naturalia Ingredients, manufacturer of crystallized sugar from grapes, Eridania Suisse, which guarantees a
direct outlet to international trading markets, Sadam Engineering, which provides know‐how and technical
solutions for the sugar industry and Sadam Meccanica, specializing in components for material handling,
structural and precision carpentry. JCube is the first certified business incubator of Marche region, set up to
encourage the creation and growth of science‐based companies.

Tobacco
Manifatture Sigaro Toscano is an entity deeply rooted in the history and territory of the Italian nation,
guardian of ancient traditions and the owner of the historical cigar TOSCANO® which was born in 1815 and
regularly manufactured since 1818. From sowing to harvest, through the manufacturing stages to the
finished product, Manifatture Sigaro Toscano is the guarantor of quality standards alongside the most
advanced companies in this sector. Strong links with the tobacco growers, research, quality and innovation:

Avanti Cigar Company is an American company acquired in 2015 by Manifatture Sigaro Toscano; founded in
1901 by two Italian brothers immigrated to New York, the company produces Avanti, Parodi and DeNobili
cigars.
