before you begin your project.

Fabric F –23828-MSDKBlu1:
Penguins in Snow Texture, dark blue
1. Fussy cut eight squares 4 1/2" x 4 1/2",
then cut each square in half on the
diagonal to make a total of sixteen
triangles. Label: “D”.
Fabric G –23829-MSBlu1:
Penguins Snow Stripe
1. Fussy cut four strips 2 3/4" x lof. Begin
cutting 1/4" to the left side of the larger
red stripe and ending 1/4" to the right of
the light blue snowflake stripe.
Label: “Borders”.
Cutting Instructions:
Please read all instructions carefully before beginning.
All seams are a scant ¼” which is included in all
measurements unless otherwise stated. Cut pieces in
order listed. Label all pieces. Refer to all illustrations
and the quilt image for proper cutting and assembly.
* wof = width of fabric, lof =length of fabric. It is strongly
advised to heavily starch all pieces cut on the bias
before cutting.
Fabric A – 23824-MSBlu1:
Penguins in Circles
1. Fussy cut four squares 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".
Label: “C”.
Fabric B –23825-MSBlu1:
Penguin Scenic
1. Fussy cut one square, on point,
7 1/4" x 7 1/4". Label: “Block 4”.
Fabric C – 23827-MSLTBlu1:
Tossed Penguins, light blue
1. Fussy cut four squares 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".
Label: “E”.
Fabric D – 23827-MSDKBlu1:
Tossed Penguins, dark blue
1. Fussy cut four squares 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".
Label: “B”.
Fabric E –23828-MSLTBlu1:
Penguin Snow Texture, light blue
1. Cut four strips 2 1/4" x wof for the
binding.
2. Cut sixteen squares 4 1/2" x 4 1/2",
then cut each square in half, on the
diagonal, to make a total of thirty two
triangles. Label: “A”.
2 Fabric H – 23830-MSLTBlu1:
Snowy Words
1. Cut two squares 10 3/4" x 10 3/4". Cut
both squares in quarters on the
diagonal for a total of eight triangles.
Label: “setting triangles”.
2. Cut two squares 5 5/8” x 5 5/8”. Cut
one square in half on the diagonal,
beginning at the upper left corner and
ending at the lower right corner. Cut
the other square, beginning in the upper
right corner and ending in the lower left
corner. Label: “corner triangles”.
Fabric I - Pattern #23823-MSBlu1
1. Cut one piece 36” x 36” for the backing.

Piecing Instructions:
*Please refer to the quilt image to accurately arrange
the pieces for each block. Because of the directionality
of the fabric, it is necessary to carefully check the
orientation of each piece before sewing in place.
Block 1:
1. Center then sew the long side an “A”
piece to opposite sides of a “B” piece.
2. Center and sew an “A” piece to the two
remaining sides of “B”.
Quilt Assembly:
1. Refer to the quilt image as well as the
illustration below to properly arrange
and align the blocks. Pay particular
attention to the words on the “setting
triangles” and “corner triangles”, which
are on the outside edges.
2. Sew the blocks, setting triangles and
corner triangle together in diagonal
rows as indicated by the different color
outlines in the illustration below.
3. Sew the rows together and then add the
final two, corner triangles in place to
complete the quilt top.
3. Square-up block to 7 1/4". Repeat for a
total of four blocks and label: “Block 1”.
Block 2:
1. Repeat the steps for “Block 1”,
substituting piece “C” for piece “B”.
2. Make a total of four blocks and label:
“Block 2”.
Block 3:
1. Repeat the steps for “Block 1”,
substituting “D” for “A” and “E” for “B”.
2. Make a total of four block.
Label: “Block 3”.
3 Borders:
1. Center and pin in place, one of the
border strips on one edge of the quilt
top, making sure that the base of the
blue snowflake strip is furthest away
from the quilt top.
2. Sew in place, beginning and ending1/4"
from each end of the quilt top.
DO NOT trim the excess fabric.
3. Repeat on the remaining sides.
4. Miter the corners, and trim away the
excess fabric to complete the quilt top.

Finishing:
1. Layer the quilt top with the batting and
backing and quilt as desired.
2. Trim the backing and batting even with
the quilt top.
3. Sew the binding strips end to end with a
diagonal seam for form one long strip.
4. Press the strip in half, lengthwise,
wrong sides together.
5. Sew to the quilt front with a 1/4" seam
allowance. Turn the binding to the back
and stitch in place.
