Dear Colleague,
Defence IQ’s Integrated Air and Missile Defence portfolio has
been at the forefront of international developments over the past
decade. From it’s coverage of emerging requirements in Eastern
Europe, through to last year’s event in Brazil highlighting the
needs of the Brazilian Armed Forces to prepare for hosting major
international events, the IAMD series remains the premier forum
for global debates on air and missile defence.
This summer, we are delighted to be hosting the inaugural
Integrated Air and Missile Defence Asia event in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia between 20-21 August. Recent developments have
demonstrated the ever increasing importance of Asian nations
having a thoroughly modern and capable air and missile defence
system. I am certain that Integrated Air & Missile Defence Asia
will offer a terrific forum for leading nations to come together and
address future capability requirements and developments.
We are delighted to be hosting the event in Malaysia, under the
Chairmanship of Major General (Ret’d) Dato Husin MD Tahak. As
the Former Head of Air Defence, Major General Tahak undoubtedly
has the credentials to deliver an honest and open forum looking
at the issues at the very heart of missile defence in the region.
With representatives from major stakeholders across Asia
including the Republic of Korea, Thailand, the Philippines and
US Pacific Command, Integrated Air and Missile Defence Asia
promises to offer a unique opportunity to engage with key decision
makers involved with the future of air and missile defence.
We look forward to meeting you in August.
Kind Regards,
Mark Eastwood

advanced short range air defence systems. The company leads the global market in automatic gun-based air defence, and is the sole system supplier able to offer
sensor systems, fire control technology, automatic air defence guns with Ahead airburst ammunition, integrated guided missiles and a full suite of command and
control systems – all from a single source.
The successful change of the old GBAD paradigm, to engage the platforms before weapon release, to now ordnance based GBAD engagements has been achieved
using the latest available technologies. The use of GBAD systems in Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW) another Rheinmetall Air Defence speciality,
providing coherent command and control allowing to support such delicate missions in peace time environments. The protection of Forward Operating Bases against
Rockets and Mortars is the latest addition in an impressive portfolio of inner tier ground based air defence products by successfully fielding the Skyshield C-RAM
