MasterView is a desktop player for professional applications, designed specifically for playing broadcast
MXF masters.
masterView has been developed as a versatile Windows player for a wide range of MXF files, including
MPEG2, H.264, AS-03 and RDD9 AS-02 and AVC-Intra material.
Designed for professional users, masterView is perfect in any operational environment for viewing
images, checking sound, captions, and control data
.
masterView is designed for first level quality control and will provide quick, easy confirmation of every
major program element. Prevent costly mistakes and last minute panics.
masterView displays
? HD 16x9 and SD 4x3 Video
? Active Format Description
? Content Advisory
? Video on a waveform monitor
? Time code and Program timeline
? Up to 8 channels of sound including PCM, Stereo and AC3
? Captions (OP-47, CEA-608 and CEA-708)
On opening a file, slate metadata is shown in the main video window. The Slate includes both
Parametric Metadata from the MXF header and user-defined Descriptive Metadata Also included are
options to select video, audio and caption components for monitoring.

Build information.
Licensing
masterView requires a license file to run. On starting masterView, if it is not licensed, a dialog will open
with the MAC address. This MAC address is required to create a license for masterView.
Send this address to [email protected] and a license file will be sent to you. This file should be
placed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Metaglue\Licenses, the .lic extension must be retained.
If you have no files open in masterView, there will be an option on the file menu to install a license.
Using this option will correctly install the license.
The license file allows permission to run any version to run that was built before the end of your
maintenance period. These versions will run forever, but if you do not continue maintenance you will not

SDI Output Card
SDI Output Card
masterView can work with an SDI card from AJA. We have tested with a range of cards and expect it to
work with any AJA card. It was developed with a KONA-LHi card and thus that is the safest one to
choose if there are no other reasons to use a different card.
In order to use the card masterView requires the masterView SDI license for SDI output. masterView will
detect the card when starting up an immediately start to use it.
The SDI output can be stopped from the Options menu.

Show Caption Streams This will show 3 captions underneath the monitor, allowing you to monitor all the
important streams of closed captions at the same time
Show Extended Caption Streams This will extend the display to 6 captions that will show all the
captions if you have many streams
6.2
Interlace Setting Options
Interlace Settings
These settings control how masterView handles interlaced video in the main display. It does not affect
the SDI output
Always line double interlace This option will handle interlaced material by only showing material from one
field, line doubled if necessary. This provides the an image without artifacts, but maybe with loss of
detail. With this box unclicked, both fields will be show with de-interlacing. As it is impossible to deinterlace all types of material there may be unexpected artifacts that do not show on an interlaced
display.
Decode both fields of JPEG 2000 interlaced. If this is not selected then only one field of JPEG 200
material will be decoded if possible. As JPEG2000 is very CPU intensive to decode this can allow a
machine to display JPEG2000 material when it could nto otherwise show it.

Options

Disable Card This will disable the card if selected. A restart of masterView is required.
Audio Follows Channel Selection IF selected then the audio will follow the selection of the audio
metering. Otherwise the audio will be mapped one to one.
