The iconic Defender and Exmoor Trim have a lot in common – they can
both trace their family histories back to the very beginnings of Land Rover.
Bert Gostling helped design the very first Land Rover prototype, back in
1947. His son Lew also joined Land Rover, became head of Experimental
Trim and later set up his own company producing trim for Land Rovers.
Today, that proud tradition is continued by Bert’s grandson, Julian
Gostling, at Exmoor Trim. Still a family-run company, we are also investors
in people – with a skilful and helpful team helping create the items you
want for your Defender.
We are proud to be an ISO 9001 company, ensuring the highest
standards of quality, and manufacture high end upgrade seats and trims
for all models of Defenders as well as quality replacements for original
equipment.
Our hoods, which we make ourselves from our own canvas, are
acknowledged as the best in the business. Our seats are tested to the
highest standards and supplied with full test certificates.

Seat Riser gives you extra legroom and more comfort. These adjustable

risers are installed beneath your existing seat runners and allow you to tilt and
adjust the seat to your desired position by adjusting the height and rake of your
seat.
The seat riser will create more space between the steering wheel and seat
back which makes this product ideal for the taller driver. Its substantial powdercoated steel frame allows you to mount the seat runners forwards or backwards
in three different locating points. The seat riser is quick and easy to adjust by
releasing the turn clamps (two on each side) and setting your seat into one of its
21 new position and then clamp lock into place.

Exmoor Trim gear knobs are designed to fit all Defenders up to 2007 models.
These are supplied as a kit that includes an aluminium polished gear and diff knob,
with a simple recess in the top to allow you to fit the decal to match your gearbox
type. Fitting only takes 5 minutes & transforms to this new stylish design. Unscrew
old gear knobs & screw on new Exmoor Trim gear knobs, once fitted firmly in place
attach gel label to match gear box type.

Mesh Seat is the seat you need if you are into off-roading, live in a hot climate or just drive

a workhorse.
Great for soft top vehicles and if you are caught out in a shower the seat will dispel the water and
dry off in no time whilst mud and dust simply passes through the mesh. This seat was originally
designed for Military use in the Middle East where it has proved to be very successful. The whole
seat only weighs 14.8Kg with its removable seat base and adjustable headrest.
The Mesh seat has been built and designed around Exmoor Trim’s new Defender core seat
frame. This robust seat is stylish and very hard wearing and supplied with certification.
The seating fabric is Outlast Black Canvas with a Space Tec mesh that’s 8mm thick and totally
rip stop. The breathable mesh and Outlast combination makes for an extremely comfortable ride
with the seats adaptive temperature control keeping you cool with good air flow around you.

Standard Defender front replacement seat from Exmoor Trim is supplied complete with

runners and all fixings. This is a direct replacement seat for the original front seating used up to
2007 in all Defenders. The seat base is removable and headrest adjustable with reclining seat backs
and smooth sliding runners. Individual components are also supplied so you can just replace a tired
seat base for a new one, freshen up your seats with a trim kit or just replace a missing handle.
As with all Exmoor front seats these use our new Defender seat frame and are issued with full
testing certificate to keep with your log book.

X Heater & Pneumatic Lumbar supports.
Do you fancy adding that extra to your seat that makes all the difference? Then this is the time
to consider installing the heater kit or lumbar supports into the seats. Fitting of these items is
complimentary at the time of manufacture and can’t easily be retro fitted at a later date in many
of our seats. So make sure, if you are considering these as an option, that you order these at
the same time as your seats.
The heater kit is supplied as a two seat kit with self adhesive heat pads to do both seat base and
back, full wiring loom & twin high/low heat control switches for either dashboard mounting or
centre console. This kit is ideal if you are simply recovering your old Defender seats as it’s easy
to install when the seat is stripped down. The same applies for the Pneumatic Lumbar a great
addition giving the driver or passenger the option to adjust the seat back centre support pad to
suit your own required shape and position.
Seat Heaters (pairs only) includes wiring loom and switches. Pneumatic Lumbar support for adjustable lumbar area.

Defender Seat Components.
If parts of your Defender seat are worn out and the rest of the seat is fine, you
can always consider replacing only the parts you need.
This makes good sense if you have a worn out seat base due to the foam
collapsing or it has a torn cover, the seat runners have seized up or simply a
new plastic handle to adjust the seat back is required.
All these components are very easy to install and will only take minutes to do.

X Defender Front Centre Seat.
We have options on our front centre seats that allow you to have a centre seat with or without a headrest.
The headrest option is not available at a later date. So if you think you require a headrest for this seat you
will need to order the correct seat.
The seat base is removable to allow access to the inspection plate and locates into the existing mounting
points. We recommend either a static lap belt or a 3 point interia floor mounted belt. This is a specialist belt
and allows you to create a 3 point off the shoulder belt without the need for a top mounting point.

process ensuring that all our foam will wear better
than the originals.

Acoustic Moulded Matting System.
This is the only front matting system available that is approved by Land
Rover and the Ministry of Defence. This is the Kit. Already fitted to most
military Land Rovers and used in extreme environments, this kit has
proved itself to be up to the job time and time again.
Supplied as a 3 piece kit with the floor & tunnel in one piece with the

Our standard second row replacement seat bases and backs are available
in a wide range of materials to match your existing 110” interior. These
seats are simply a replacement for the original equipment and allow the
second row seat frame to fold down behind the front seats.
If you require a upgrade from these seats our Classic High & Low back

X Second Row Extension Kit.
This simple yet clever design allows you to move the seat further
back to create more leg room for the taller passenger. The kit
will cause the seat back to be raised higher and will leave a gap
between the seat back and base (see image).
If you have three-man bench seats installed behind the second
row seats, the extension kit will not fit without you removing the
bench seats or adapting to the shorter two-man type bench seats
or individual folding seats.

X Classic High & Low Back Seats.
These classic upgrade seats are the perfect way to
achieve a safer and more comfortable ride. These
seats have been impact tested and meet all EEC
regulations for retro fitting in a Land Rover.
Extremely sturdy internal metal frame work with
high grade foam build and stylish design with
integral headrest option to blend with the lower
back rest.
Most customers install two outer high back seats
and one lower in the centre for better rear view, but
you can install in any format you wish, including all
high back.
If you still want to retain the fold away feature of your
old factory fitted standard seats, you can use all low
backs to achieve this, if you use high backs this can
still be partially achieved with the seat backs folding
down flat as long as you adapt your frames with the
Extension Kit (see below).

Second Row Reclining Kit.
Designed for your LWB Defender to convert a 60/40 split bench
seat fitted into models up to 2007 into 3 individual seats.
This will allow the seat frame to recline and be adjusted to any
angle to suit the occupant. The frame work is all floor locking and
supplied with keys so they can’t be released unless unlocked, a
good feature when children are involved. The kit is only supplied
to convert all 3 seats and only our tested High and Low back
seats will fit this framework.
This will achieve a set of second row seats with integral
headrests for the rear passengers with its winning combination
providing superior comfort for the passenger.
The new frame work moves the seats further back at the same
time so there is no need for an extension kit with this package,
though reclining angles are determined by the position of seats
fitted in the rear load area. The seat backs will drop forward but
cannot be folded down through 2 stages, as 60/40 or standard
second row seats can. Not compatible with 3 man bench seats
in the rear load area.
60/40 or standard individual seats require complete removal
- the vehicle requires drilling to fit the new frames
(instructions supplied).

Forward Facing Fold up.
An occasional folding seat with its sculptured design and integral
head rest. The seat frame is mounted to the wheel arch facing
forward with the hinge point firmly bolted into place and the load
bearing plates under the floor. The seat when folded away, very
neatly stows on to the wheel arch leaving the load area totally free
apart from the floor belts.
To use the seat it is simply released from its stowed position (folded
into the load area) and the support leg will drop down into position.
The seat back will recline into its upright position and fix in place,
giving your rear passengers a convenient forward-facing seat with
a much-needed increase in height and comfort.
This seat relies on a 4 point seat belt for safety and therefore
must only be used with this type of belt. The belt buckle section is
permanently fixed to the rear floor centre between the seats when
in use. You may need to lower the tank for easy access to install.

Black powder-coated frames. Rear bench seats are manufactured to blend
with your Land Rover interior by using the same frame as were originally
used. This enables you to install our metal backed bench backs and
cushion pads with your original frames if you have them, or you can simply
install the complete seat.
The seat is supplied with all fixings and mounting hardware as well as

X Inward Facing Tip Up Seat.
Black powder-coated and supplied as a pre-assembled kit with all
the hardware you require for installation. You are able to fit two
seats in the rear facing inwards on each wheel arch, this also
allows you to tip up the base towards the back rest and neatly stow
away when not in use. With the seat base tipped up the floor / load
area is totally clear so it will not inhibit the boot space.

Inward Facing Fold Up seat.
An upgrade to this higher-backed folding seat with its sculptured design,
whilst still retaining all the features of the standard type of foldaway
inward-facing seat. The seat base is unlocked and slides forward
towards the vehicle centre and then flips up against the seat back and is
held in place with a retaining strap.
The seat will overhang the load area when folded away by 4cm. The seat
back is much higher than all other inward facing seats to give that much
needed increase in height, hold and comfort for your passengers with
this tested seat your passengers will have a much better ride!

New 3 in 1 Hood
The 3 in 1 hood is manufactured from the finest quality Stay Fast Hooding
and is the Flagship Hood for Exmoor Trim. This is a higher quality hooding
material and achieves a better finish than Mohair hooding.
The idea behind the design is to accumulate all the best products into one.
Step One - This has been achieved by creating a hood that can simply be removed, turned into a Stylish Summer Bimini top.
Step Two - To create a Truck Cab Hood by simply zipping in the fume curtain.
Step Three - To achieve a Full Length Hood, locate the rear hood section onto the Bimini hood and zip it in. You can still retain the fume curtain or simply stow it away behind the seats in the protective bag.

step of the way. The roof sections all have rod stiffeners sewn in to stop the
hood from bellowing and flapping, the side panels are all quilted creating a
quiet full length hood.
The hood attaches to the body with a clip on system and keeps the clean
lines without stud fixings being visible. This hood is designed to fit a standard
hood stick and we supply the body fittings that you need to complete the
job. This hood is so simple to fit and will totally transform your Land Rover
in a couple of hours.

Melvill & Moon canvas seat covers are the ideal way of protecting your seats
and enhancing the interior at the same time. The tailored covers fit exactly with
twin rear and single zip pocket and front side pocket pen holders, reinforced
side panels where you enter and exit with piped finish for style.
Not forgetting that these covers were originally designed to reduce sweating in
hotter countries where canvas seat covers are used on most vehicles.
The covers are washable and supplied in their own presentation kit bag. We
