RVing
Recreational vehicles, usually equipped with
amenities you’d find in your home, are perfect for
families or couples who want a unique vacation
and a few laughs. When you’re in an RV, you literally never know where the trip will take you.
Whether you and your family decide on a getaway
to a wooded campsite and plan to stay put or prefer being on the open road and stopping at a variety of places, RVs are ideal for people who like
vacations on the go. You also need a sense of
humor because being in such close quarters with
family or friends is sure to bring out qualities
you’ve never seen in someone before, good or bad.
RVs are used for everything from a leisurely
camping vacation to full-time living quarters for
couples or small families and are often parked in
special trailer parks. Whatever they’re used for,
these fun vehicles typically have a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a living room. Smaller
vehicles have minimal amenities, and larger models have full bathrooms, refrigerators, living areas
an,d master bedrooms. Some are even more elaborate with satellite TV and Internet access, slide-out
sections, and awnings. This is ideal for people
who make their RV a permanent home.
Many RV enthusiasts stay at RV parks, most of
which offer electrical, water, and sewer services,
as well as cable television and wireless Internet.
Some RV parks include swimming pools, game
rooms, and resort style activities. Other RVers prefer the rustic nature of parking their RV in a
remote area or a public campground with minimal
facilities. After all, there is something to be said
for “roughing it.” In addition to public campgrounds, RVs are also found in all kinds of parks
from city parks to state parks.
There are a variety of RVs, including
motorhomes, bus conversions, camper vans, truck
campers, popup campers, travel trailers, and
teardrop trailers. Some creative campers even
craft their own RVs out of cars, vans, and buses.
There is an increasing trend among retired people who sell their homes and live permanently in
their RVs. They love the freedom and thrill of
being on the open road and discovering beautiful
countryside and exciting cities while living in a
simple space with the modern comforts of home.
Northeastern Pennsylvania is known for being a
recreational hub with numerous wooded campsites and recreational areas perfect for RV camping. Don’t forget your iPod and a good book!
