Nationally renown, award winning artist and
wood carver, B. David Duncan’s interest in art
began to develop at an early age by watching
his father carve and sketch.
In 1978 he began to develop his own artistic
style, concentrating mainly on portrait and
wildlife paintings.
B David entered his
paintings in Conservation Stamp Contests but
wanting to do something more, he fell in love
with wood carving – especially decoys.
B. David carves primarily from basswood.
After he has completed a carving, and paints it
with acrylic paints, the decoy is then sold or
entered into competitions. In addition to the
decoys, he also competes with fish, birds and
other wildlife sculptures.
In the last few years B. David carved
several decoys for Carry-Lite Decoys, the oldest decoy company in the states. They can be found in Bass Pro,
Cabella and Sportsman Warehouse stores, as well as smaller outlets around the country.
This very detailed Great Blue Heron wood carving has won many awards in competitions.
Estimated value is $2,500.00-$5,000.00.
