Watching Live Television
You can watch a variety of live Television using your Android TV Box. Please note that watching
Live TV over the internet using your Android Box will always be “hit and miss” and sometimes
simply not work at all (but may work again later). Any support for Live TV offered by Android TV
Boxes Canada is for the Add-on only, not the streams it provides.
FTV GUIDE
More recently sold Android Boxes come with a great Add-on called ftv guide.
If you have this, simply open it up and scroll the TV Guide for all the Live stations and select the
show/station you want to watch, just like you would with cable.
If you have an older box, you can still get access to all of this content through USTVNOW and
FilmOn.TV, you just won’t have the guide.
If you do have this guide, there’s no need to bother reading the sections on USTVNOW or
Filmon.TV
USTVNOW
You can get access to several major networks live TV stations using the Add-on ustvnow.
You must sign up for an account on their website first, you can choose a free account or a paid
account (note: more recent boxes have this set up already using Android TV Boxes
Canada’s email address. If this stops working, you’ll have to set up a new account, but
otherwise you don’t need to set it up anymore).
To get started go to https://www.ustvnow.com/ using your computer, phone, tablet, etc.
On this site, click the SIGN UP FOR FREE button.
You’ll be taken to a screen where you can choose a plan.
Most people will be choosing the free plan. If you want to do a paid plan, you can split the cost 3
ways with 2 friends or family members to make the cost lower (note the prices listed are U.S.
Dollars), so it may be worth $10 USD/month for a lot of extra live channels. Don’t bother with
the DVR option because you already access to non-live TV via the Add-on Genesis.
Sign up using your e-mail (not Facebook) and complete the form with your details.
Once your account is made, you need to configure the ustv Add-on within Kodi.
To do so, navigate to the VIDEOS section in Kodi and then to Add-ons.
You’ll be presented with a list of all Video Add-ons. Navigate to ustvnow and either right click
with your mouse, hit the menu button on your remote or the “C” key on your keyboard.
Navigate to “Add-on Settings” and hit OK.
You’ll be presented with an options window where you can input your e-mail and your password
for ustvnow.
You can also change the quality to 1024kbps if it’s not already set to that for best quality of live
TV.
Now you can open the ustvnow. You can either open it from the Add-on list or if you go back to
the main screen there is a shortcut for it in the VIDEOS section.
Choose the “Live” option when ustvnow opens.
You’ll be presented with a list of stations available as well as what’s currently playing.
Hit OK on whatever station you’d like to watch and enjoy your live TV!
If the channels won’t open, try going back to the settings window (where you entered your login
info) and changing the Stream type to the other option. If it’s on “rtsp” and not working, try
“rtmp” and if it’s on “rtmp” try “rtsp”
F.T.V.
(Note: F.T.V. is now called FilmOn.TV and should display that way on your Android box)
F.T.V. is another Add-on that has a lot of free Live TV. To watch live TV using F.T.V., navigate to
the VIDEOS section in Kodi then hit OK on the F.T.V. shortcut.
There are many options here, but for live TV, navigate down to “UK LIVE TV”.
All of these stations or station from the United Kingdom but you’ll be surprised how many
stations show American TV and Movies.
You’ll be presented with a list of stations.
Simply click one to open the channel and enjoy the Live V

There are many other channels. The best way to find out what sort of shows they offer is to
Google the name of the TV station with “schedule” added on. For example: “BBC Four schedule”.
Also, notice that with the Menu showing, it will tell you what’s coming next.
With all of the channels offered and the amount of great, familiar shows on the stations, you’ll
have no problem finding some TV to watch for lazy Sunday afternoons.
One final note: if you’re using the online guides, an easy way to convert the time is to simply
Google it. For example when I Google “20:00 London time in Nova Scotia” Google shows me at
the top that it’s 4:00 PM in Nova Scotia.
VDUBT25
Vdubt25 is an add-on that has a wide array of Live streams. Some are sports, some are TV. This
section will cover the Live TV aspect.
Vdubt25 can be accessed either by going to Super Favourites, then Sports or by hitting “Addons” underneath VIDEOS and then opening it from there.
When opened, you’ll see a screen with lots of options:
You are free to look these through these various sections as you want but this tutorial will cover
USA Live Tv and CANADA Sports & TV.
If you open USA Live Tv you’ll get a screen with a long list of Networks. As the green text says
at the top “While they last” meaning these Live streams may go down at any time.
Hopefully when you choose a link it will start playing:
If it does not, it means the link no longer works and you’ll have to try another network or try
again later.
You can access Canadian channels in the same way by selecting CANADA Sports & TV from the
first menu. Note most of these channels are also available in the “CanTVLive” add-on.
Unfortunately for sports lovers, TSN rarely seems to work.
CanTVLive
CanTVLive is made specifically for those wanting Canadian content.
You should read the disclaimer above that was made by the person who created the add-on.
Some streams work almost always, some hardly ever (such as TSN).
This Add-on is very simple to use, simply select the CanTVLive Add-on under VIDEOS.
Then select the channel you wish to watch. With any luck it will begin streaming Live.
If nothing happens it means the stream is not currently working.
Watching Live Sports
Using Kodi on your Android TV Box, you can access a wide variety of Live Sports. When dealing
with Live sports the quality may not be as high as using your cable but this depends on a lot of
factors. Most should be at least watchable.
Please note that watching Live Sports over the internet using your Android Box will always be
“hit and miss” and sometimes simply not work at all (but may work again later). Any support for
Live TV offered by Android TV Boxes Canada is for the Add-on only, not the streams it provides.
Remember that major sports and events such as the SuperBowl will likely be airing on one of
the free ustvnow channels as well so it’s often simplest to find it there! This tutorial was made
the day of the Superbowl and it was available on NBC in ustvnow.
DigitTele Sports
DigiTele sports is what you’ll be using to access most Live Sports. All sports apps are located
inside the Super Favourites Add-on so that they can be organized.
When you open the Sports folded from Super Favourites, you’ll see all the Sports Add-ons
available.
Open the DigiTele Sports Add-on.
Select “Live Sports”
You’ll be presented with a list which is just websites that stream live sports. The best websites
are FirstRowSports.eu and VipBox.tv
Open the FirstRowSports.eu option. Then simply select the sport you want to watch.
You’ll see a list of Networks and Events. If it doesn’t have a number in front of it, it’s Live right
now and you can watch it. If it does have a number (time) in front of it, it means it’ll be playing
at that time later in the day.
Once you something to watch (EPSN for this example), you’ll be presented with Links to watch
it, similar to how it works in Genesis. Usually there are 1-3 links in these.
Choose the link, wait for the video to load and enjoy your Live Sports (screenshot below is on a
commercial).
If you want to try VipBox.tv, go back to the screen with the websites listed and select it.
VipBox.TV also has a Now Playing option for everything playing, for this example we’ll stick to
Football though.
Again, you’ll live and future sports. Click a Live event to watch it.
Select your link, same as before.
And enjoy your Sports!
Vdubt25
Vdubt25 can be used to access Live Sports. To open it, go to Super Favourites, then Sports then
open the Vdub25 add-on.
Once there, you can select from a menu for various sports.
You’ll be given a list of channels. The most reliable streams will be all of the PAC streams.
However many links should work.
If it works, the stream will begin playing, if nothing happens, the stream is no longer working.
Vdubt25 has a strange “quirk” where once you’ve opened a stream and then stopped it, the
stream disappears from the menu. Unfortunately, there is no known way around this and all that
can be done is hope a future update fixes it (the add-on will update automatically).
Canada On Demand
The Canada On Demand Add-on features some Live Streaming which can be used to watch
sports live CBC sports such as Hockey Night in Canda.
To get started, first open the Canada on Demand Add-on. It is located in the shortcuts in the
VIDEOS section, just use your keyboard or remote to go to the right until you find it.
Once there, selection the station you’d like.
Then select “CBC Sports”. In the next screen, select “Live Streaming”
Select the stream you’d like watch. If it is currently airing it will start playing.
If it’s not currently airing, you’ll get a screen showing nothing.
NBC Sports Live Extra
The NBC Sports Live Extra Add-on is included on your Android TV Box. Using this service is only
available to residents of the USA, however if you use a service such as https://www.unblockus.com/ then you can view it in other countries. You need to be fairly technically advanced to
do this and familiar with changing your DNS settings. If this is all Greek to you, skip this section.
If it’s not then it’s assumed you can change your DNS settings and sign up for whatever DNS
service you want so this will simply outline how to use the Add-on once you’ve done that
(remember, you can simply watch NBC live using ustvnow)
The Add-on is located inside of Super Favourites and then inside the Sports folder.
Once you open the Add-on, select “Live & Upcoming”
You’ll be presented with some channels/events in blue text and some in yellow text. The blue
text listings are live feeds and the yellow text listing are upcoming with a time listed. To watch a
Live feed, simply select it and hit OK.

NHL Game Center
If you have an NHL Game Center account you can use it with your Android TV Box to watch
Hockey.
If you’re a Rogers Wireless customer on a Share Everything or Hybrid Fibre 50 Plan then you
already have free access to NHL Game Center. Go here to see how to sign up:

To start, open up your Super Favourites and then your Sports.
Highlight the NHL Gamecenter Add-on and either hit “C” on your keyboard or the Menu button
on your remote to bring up the Context menu. Select “NHL Gamecenter Settings” and hit OK.
You’ll get a window where you can fill in your username and password.
Note you must use your username, not your e-mail address. If you have NHL Game Center
through Rogers, select the Rogers Login option.
From here, it’s quite self-explanatory; you can login and choose from Live or Archived games.
No screenshots are available since I don’t have a an account to login.
NFL Game Pass
NFL Game Pass works the same was as NHL Game Center except of course for NFL games. It is
accessed and set up in the same way, so please refer to the above NHL Game Center tutorial
and just use the NFL Game Pass Add-on instead.
