ONGAONGA SCHOOL NEWSLETTER – 2ND JULY - TERM 2 - WEEK 9 Greetings to the Ongaonga School Community, Kia Ora… End of Term This Friday sees the end of term. We will be finishing school with an assembly beginning at 2.20pm. There will be no sport this Friday. Term 3 starts on Monday, 21st July. I look forward to seeing everyone on that day. World Cup The World Cup of Soccer has been a tremendous event to watch. Some of our families have brought along flags of the different countries that are playing. If you have a flag that we can borrow to fly when the country is victorious, that would be fantastic. Mid Year Interviews A huge thank you to all who have attended interviews. If for some reason you have been unable to attend, try to arrange another time for an interview. CHB Science Fair Well done to all our entrants in the CHB Science Fair. School Future Roll Predictions We have just submitted our future roll projections for the next few years. I thank Playcentre for providing us with information to make an accurate prediction. Room 1 Stories Community Notices My Dad has a new 2 wheeler. It is white. He uses the 2 wheeler on the farm. Dad’s 4 wheeler broke down because the battery ran out. Dad sold the 4 wheeler. Art - Holiday Programme at the Museum: The CHB Settlers Museum in Waipawa is now hosting 2 Art workshop in the upcoming Holidays. The workshops are for primary school children on Wednesdays the 9th and 16th July, from 10am -12pm. The costs are $20 per 2 hour session with a family discount. All materials and morning tea are provided and also transport from Ongaonga to Waipawa and back if needed. The winning recipes will then go on to compete in the ‘Cook Off’ on the 26th of July. Entry forms and information can be collected for the Arataki Honey Visitor Centre over the July school holidays.
