ONGAONGA SCHOOL NEWSLETTER – 2ND JULY - TERM 2 - WEEK 9
Greetings to the Ongaonga School
Community, Kia Ora…
End of Term
This Friday sees the end of term. We will be
finishing school with an assembly beginning
at 2.20pm. There will be no sport this Friday.
Term 3 starts on Monday, 21st July. I look
forward to seeing everyone on that day.
World Cup
The World Cup of Soccer has been a
tremendous event to watch. Some of our
families have brought along flags of the
different countries that are playing. If you
have a flag that we can borrow to fly when the
country is victorious, that would be fantastic.
Mid Year Interviews
A huge thank you to all who have attended
interviews. If for some reason you have been
unable to attend, try to arrange another time
for an interview.
CHB Science Fair
Well done to all our entrants in the CHB
Science Fair.
Tremendous news the following students
have placed in the following worlds.

Round and Round’
Material World:
1st Lars Hardy - ‘Spudzooka’
2nd Pippa Mckenzie - ‘Wool it Burn?’
We will be entering our projects in the
Hawke’s Bay Science Fair on August 15th.
School Future Roll Predictions
We have just submitted our future roll
projections for the next few years. I thank
Playcentre for providing us with information
to make an accurate prediction.
Our predictions for the next few years are as
follows;
March 2015 114
March 2016 118
March 2017 107
This means we will at least maintain our 5
teacher status and have the potential to
move to 6 if we have more students arrive
from outside the district. These predictions
