2009 Annual Report
It seems impossible
that it was just
five years ago that
Pacific Northwest
University of Health
Sciences was a dream
and a goal among
local business and
medical professionals.
Today, two classes of
bright and capable
medical students are
receiving top-notch
medical education;
preparing to serve
rural and underserved
communities in
primary care.
Your investment in the success of PNWU
has grown the university from a roundtable
discussion to bricks and mortar and now
students filling the building. We wouldn’t have
been able to accomplish this without you.
It is our mission that sets us apart. Our dedication
to meeting the needs of rural and underserved
communities, specifically in primary care will
ultimately funnel hundreds of health care
providers into our communities and region. Each
day is one step closer to making that a reality.
With just two years left before the inaugural
class of medical students graduates from
PNWU, time is of the essence for our local
community to remain supportive and committed
to its success. The Yakima Valley specifically,
but also the entire Pacific Northwest (36
out of 39 counties in Washington alone),
face severe health care shortages. PNWU
provides a real solution to this problem.
With qualified faculty, outstanding staff,
dedicated students, and a supportive community,
PNWU will meet its mission of educating and
training effective medical professionals to
serve rural and underserved communities.
