Fr. Jozo “Joe” Grbes Fr. Jozo “Joe” Grbes is a Franciscan Friar. He joined the Franciscans in 1986. After finishing his philosophical and theological studies in Croatia and England, he was sent to the United States. For 20 years, Fr. Jozo served parishes in New York and Chicago. In 2012, he was elected Franciscan Custos/Superior for the Croatian Franciscan Fathers in USA and Canada. He resides at the Franciscan Fathers main Friary in Chicago. Fr. Martin Scott Fr. Martín Scott was born in Miraflores, Peru in 1960. He and his twin brother are the youngest of seven. His mother almost died twice giving birth. Her doctor firmly advised her to have a tubal ligation. Our Lord spoke to her that it was not His will. Despite her doctor´s advice, his mother obeyed Our Lord blindly. Four months later, she became pregnant and six months later, gave birth to twin sons. In 1965, the Scott family moved to the United States where Father was educated, graduating with a Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration and Finance in 1982. His plan was to return to Peru, marry and pursue a job in his field. God had other plans. Our Lord began calling him to the priesthood. He tried to deny the calling for more than a year, but God was insistent. In 1983, he said YES and has never regretted his decision. After studying at Mount St. Mary´s Seminary in Maryland, he was ordained in 1988 as a diocesan priest of the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. For 15 years, Father served as a diocesan priest when God surprised him in a powerful way. He always had the desire to join a religious community and had a great love for the Eucharist and our Lady. Our Lord not only asked him to be a religious, but to found a new community in his native Peru. In 2003, he returned to Peru and founded the Servants of Divine Mercy Religious Community which is now 13 years old. Fr. Martin gives retreats, parish missions and speaks at conferences both in the U.S., Latin America, and even in Kuwait. Fr. Doug Lorig Fr. Doug is a former Episcopal Priest who converted to the Catholic Church with his wife and four children in 1979. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Catholic Church in 1984 and served as a teacher at St. Mark’s in Phoenix and Seton High School in Chandler during the years after converting. Fr. Doug was then Administrator of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Queen Creek, and Pastor of St. Thomas Byzantine Parish in Gilbert. After that, he served as Pastor of St. Anne’s in Gilbert for 14 years and is presently Pastor of St. Maria Goretti’s in Scottsdale. For the past twenty-four years, Fr. Doug has served as spiritual director for the Arizona Peace Center. Fr. Greg Adolf Rose Donation Fr. Greg Adolf is the pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Fr. Greg was born in Colorado in 1948, and his family relocated to Phoenix, in the early 1950’s. At the Conference, a statue of Our Lady is present. He served as a Lutheran pastor in Tucson for 15 years, and as Dean of the Arizona District of the Lutheran Church in America for four years. In 1989, following his reception into the Catholic Church, he did post-graduate study at St. Thomas Seminary in Denver. In 1991, he was ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Tucson. Fr. Greg is active in retreat ministry, which is grounded in Sacred Scripture and seeks to lead participants into a deeper experience of prayer and missional service. Char Vance When life seems to be closing in on us, in a world that so often seems upside-down, there is one way to escape, and that is through humor. A great example of both healing and laughter is Char Vance, the television producer and comedian from New Orleans who has people rolling in the aisles. Char spent over 30 years in broadcasting, including owning and operating radio stations, as well as serving as the creative director for one of the oldest advertising agencies in New Orleans. Char had been in the radio business when she suffered a horrendous accident. It looked like part of her leg would have to be amputated. During a trip to Medjugore, she experienced a physical healing, but more importantly a spiritual healing and a major conversion, which brought her to Jesus Christ. Char Vance is now president of Focus Worldwide Television Network which reaches over 130 million people. They are in 196 countries and Focus reaches 137 of them via the internet site www.getfocus.tv. She has also produced numerous Catholic radio and TV programs in the Chicago and New Orleans markets. She is one of the most popular speakers on the miracles of Medjugorje, delighting crowds with her extraordinary yet entertaining story that will make you laugh, cry, and re-examine the foundations of your faith.
