Camp Speers in the Poconos
Site and Facility Update – June 2015
In the October 2014, the YMCA approved $500,000
(phase one) of Facility Reinvestment Funds to address
significant deferred maintenance issues at Camp Speers.
In February 2015, the YMCA approved an additional
$300,000 (phase two) to address facility problems at
Camp.
The following is a summary of the accomplishments to
date:

Repairs

– structural, plumbing, electric, carpentry, sub-flooring, heating system,
sprinkler system, alarm system
– oak floor, kitchen equipment, dining room chairs, exterior stain

Eljabar Village Lodges - 10 bathrooms
Repairs
New
$170,000
– structural, plumbing, electric, carpentry, sub-flooring,
– tile floors and shower walls , toilets, sink counters , doors, partitions
BEFORE: Bathroom floor removed, view into basement
Rotted floor joist due to water damage were replaced
AFTER: New drains, tiled walls and
tile floor
