Families will find Mechanicsburg and Enola beautiful towns to relax in for a day or two of
sightseeing. Community parks, art galleries, old-fashioned restaurants and museums are
prevalent throughout both towns. Be sure to check out the Mechanicsburg Museum and explore
the remaining structures of the old Pennsylvania Railroad, which had a huge impact on the
development of both communities in the 1800s. You can also stay and play here and visit nearby
Hershey, Harrisburg, Lancaster and York.

Connected by the 11-mile Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, these two communities have a lot to offer
in the way of historical attractions and small town charm. Shippensburg is the oldest town in
the Cumberland Valley with strong ties to the Civil War, while Newville is proud of its numerous
preserved homes, farms and churches reflecting the past. Stop by and visit the local shops and
home-cooked restaurants for an authentic experience. Plan to slow down and relax as you travel
through Amish farmland and rolling hills.
