Identification of old settlements Conservation state of buildings Functional profile ... •Objectives of Loures Landscape Management Plan – Cultural heritage • Management strategy preventing the degradation of built cultural heritage. • Study the possibility of tax benefits’ policies for cultural heritage rehabilitation. • Study modes of attracting private investment for cultural heritage. – Landscape • Study modes of increasing the production of high quality items from agriculture and herding: wine, cheese, biological vegetables. • Study regulations for non-aedificandi areas. • Make public the actual potential of the abandoned land for its multi-functional use: studies on biodiversity, nature conservation, sustainable tourism, recreation and aesthetic fruition. – Involvement of local actors • – Foster the creation of partnerships between enterprises and public institutions for landscape and cultural heritage protection. • Organize meetings with local schools: teachers and students towards the dissemination of the project. • Involve property owners and local entrepreneurs (farmers, wine producers, sheep and goat raisers, tourism agents). • Involve local cultural and recreational associations. • Foster the creation of networks of common interests. We need external expertise and support on techniques of sensitization and involvement of local actors • towards the understanding of non-urbanized areas as resources for leisure, sustainable tourism, sports, the study of biodiversity ... • Territorial limit of the plan Area of the plan 80: squared kilometers Municipality of Loures: 168 squared kilometers Landscape diagnosis of an old town center • Diagnosis and studies to be produced and completed – Economic data • Up-to-date and accurate data on active agriculture areas, herding parcels, agriculture abandonment and cynegetic areas. • Existing economic activities and companies in the area of study. • Identification of potential investors in the field of agriculture, derivative products, sustainable tourism, recreational and cultural activities. – Social data • Up-to-date and accurate data on the local population. Info from last census (2001) is outdated. • Production of specific surveys on: – People’s intentions and expectations regarding the land they own or inhabit. – Social and cultural practices associated with the territory they inhabit.
