If necessity is the mother of invention, the drive for a better solution must be the father, because from
those two elements Hot Toppers® were born. For twenty years in the motorcycle industry, my
motorcycle had to be a show piece at all the different events I worked, and fasteners were a problem.
Chrome bolts rust. No matter how careful I was, even the top quality chrome bolts would disintegrate
immediately upon arrival in Daytona, eventually elsewhere, and there is no warranty. Rusty chrome
looks worse than zinc. I would rather be riding than tearing my bike apart replacing bolts.
Other solutions had other problems. Plug-ins only dealt with the face of the bolt – I could still see the
sides of the zinc fastener and they never stayed on. Full covers cost more, but every Monday morning I
still would have to replace the covers that fell off. No surprise that not one manufacturer would
warranty those either.
Polished stainless bolts are expensive, require special care and polish, and do not have the strength of
conventional bolts. Installation demands the costly labor of a tear down.
I wanted to spend my time riding, not tending to fasteners and I wanted my motorcycle to look good.
I needed to develop a solution that was full cover, would not rust and would stay on the motorcycle.
This quality product would have to work, because I was going to use it.
Time, energy and everything else that I owned went into the design and production of this solution. I
am proud to use Hot Toppers® on my motorcycle, and am sure they will suit your riding needs. I stand
behind my product. The chrome will last and they will stay on your bike, or I will replace them.
