Eastern Region "Getting Connected" Support Staff Conference Registration Package CONFERENCE INFORMATION Welcome to the “Getting Connected” Eastern Region Support Staff Conference. This year, the conference will be held at Elmhirst Resort (be sure to check it out at www.elmhirst.com). The conference has been designed to provide you with a professional development experience that you will find rewarding, challenging, interesting and, most of all, fun. Along with colleagues at your College, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with others in the Eastern Region enabling you to become a part of a learning community that will continue beyond the span of this experience. The Conference kicks off in the Enterprise Room at 11:15. In order to maximize our time together, we ask that you check-in and register between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Your registration fee includes accommodations, meals, and workshops. Transportation cost will be paid by your Manager. Please arrange to carpool where possible. Your room reservations will be made for you by the Planning Committee. You can expect a full program that offers a variety of workshops and activities that include ample opportunities for sharing ideas. We have a number of experienced facilitators who will contribute to the vast experience of all our participants. Bedrooms will generally be single occupancy, but this cannot be guaranteed. This popular resort features comfortable lake side cottages, each with a fully-equipped kitchen, 2 or 3 bedrooms, living room and open hearth fireplace. The quiet waterfront location and scenic views will provide the ideal environment for a relaxing retreat. Delicious meals will be served in the spacious Hearthside Dining Room, located in the main building. Socializing activities are planned for Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the Conservatory Room. Some resort amenities do require an additional fee payable to the resort including, but not limited to; Spa Services, Wine Tasting Seminar, Horse-back Riding, and airplane rides. Weather permitting, on Wednesday the resort will also be offering free wagon rides at 4:30 pm and a bon fire starting at 8 pm. Please bring your guitar (or other musical instruments) and singing voices - all are welcome! You are also welcome to bring along your favorite board games, cards, movies, or music and get together in your cottages or the pub for relaxation and conversation. Thursday evening will be the Super Hero theme dinner followed by a Euchre Tournament in the Conservatory (pre-registration required). We will also have some extra deck of cards if you want to play poker or other card games (drop in). Board games more your style? Join fellow gamers in the Pub for some board games. We will have a selection there for you - or you can bring your favorite along too! Fitness Centre & Pool Hours: 8 AM - 9 PM Each Cottage have 2-5 bedrooms Each Cottage will have; hair-dryer, coffee maker, kettle, fridge, microwave (bring your own coffee, tea or personal beverages of choice for in cottage use) All meals are buffet style Wine Tasting (Additional Fee) Experience Elmhirst Resort 's very own wine cellar. Offered on Wednesday & Thursday afternoon. Space is limited to 12 people per session. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Lobby. The cost is $15 per person.
