WHO SAYS LIGHTNING DOESN’T STRIKE TWICE ?
Oh dear, poor Dag Overli !!! After last week’s cruel game which saw a point ripped from his grasp by an eightyninth minute Petersen goal, he looked to have got a win under his belt at the fourth attempt, and a very much
deserved win at that, when up popped NEW LORDS striker Vladivar, in the very last minute of the game, to
complete his hat-trick and secure a point for Paul Sutton’s side. On a brighter note, it was a tremendous game of
football, Overli played a diamond formation in the absence of a decent sweeper and his side swept forward time
after time, with Hughes & Flo getting up to help Findley & Moa. Sutton’s SW-2-3-4 were at risk of being
completely swamped at times, but it was they who got off to the better start with Vladivar opening the scoring in
just the second minute & then adding his and his side’s second, somewhat against the run on play, thirteen
minutes later. The two home strikers combined to get the scores back level and it looked like that’s how they
would finish the half, when Ceolwulf powered home a drive from about five yards outside the penalty area that left
Bonner grasping at thin air. After the break the pressure from the home side finally paid off and again it was one
each for the twin strike-force, both of whom should really have wrapped up a hat-trick before the end, but as I’ve
already mentioned, it was visiting striker Vladivar who took home the match ball with a last minute header. Overli’s
side have now conceded goals in the closing moments of their last four halves of football, and it has cost them
badly, is it a fitness thing or a mental thing ? The only person who knows is Dag himself, but he needs to sort it
out pretty soon or he is in for a rough old season !!! The point for Thistle means that AQUALINA are now the only
team in the division that are not off the mark, a three-one home defeat this week by PLUTO PIRATES leaves
them at the bottom, pointless and with a goal difference of minus ten. Manager Neil Barrett opted for a diamond
formation but it struggled with the visitors’ 3-3-4 who were creating chances , mainly through the brilliant
combination play of Ronnie Rinaldo and their captain, Rolando. Still as the game was heading for a draw,
Barrett’s side looked to have done enough to secure their first point of the season, but much like as at Renfrew
Park, the visitors had a sting in their tail and goals from midfielders Van Damme & Schwartze Haia gave Mark
Napier’s side a three-one win.
THE LIONS WHIMPER !
and boy did they grasp that opportunity with both
hands ?!? There is a real renaissance this season
about Warwick Mansell’s side and the fans are loving
it. Having been starved of not just success over the
past couple of years but of goals, entertainment and
well, anything good, they are lapping this up and it is
driving the team on. This week’s all-out attack
brought them four first-half goals and two more in the
second to inflict a six-one defeat on the unmanaged
SOFIA TASNEEM. Not until nineteen year-old striker
Kronenbourg netted the sixth in the penultimate
minute was there a duplicate name on the scoresheet as the Magyars shared the goals around as
much as their fans are sharing the love !!! Top of the
table then, for Mansell, are the good times back for
good ?!? Finally, spare a thought for LILYPUTT and
their manager Oren Minzer. Who find themselves
second from bottom on zero points after a second
postponement already, Minzer has some arranging
to do !!!
Leaders YOUNG LIONS FC welcomed Craig Lawton &
his STALIN CITY side to Roaring Lane this week
looking to maintain their one-hundred percent start to
the season. Manager Paul Stevens opted for a 3-5-2
formation employing an offside trap to ensnare the
visitors’ three man forward line, but with no manmarking on the very dangerous midfielders Kursk,
Estaradez & Garian, the home side still found it tough
going and it was Lawton’s side that were the more
dangerous, taking the lead in the eighth minute. Both
sides traded chances but only one more was taken,
and that was three minutes after the half-time break
when Buthelezi headed home a far post Kilkenny cross.
The man of the match award was shared, bizarrely, by
Neuer & Nagi, the two opposing goalkeepers, but I
suppose that was fair reflection on a game that was
played pretty much box-to-box from the very first kick.
So with the perfect record gone, ESCHTERGOM UTD
had the chance to take over at the top by beating
struggling SOFIA TASNEEM by more than three goals,

them coming in the last
thirteen minutes, but again,
the home side should have
put this tie to bed +++ No
problems for COMICS
UNITED over non-league
WOKING but the minnows
gave the league side more
of a match than most this
season. A problem for The
Laughing Boys though as
their captain, Fokker, is
carried off with what looks
like a very bad knee injury +++ YOUNG LIONS FC’s
season is stuttering as third division WRAITH go one
better than STALIN CITY did in the weekend’s league
game +++ NEW CATTON host Conference side
ENFIELD and suffer a heavy defeat and CEREAL
KILLERS suffer a similar fate against MARGATE +++
READIEONIANS live to fight another day and take
HEDNESFORD back for a replay +++ Three first-half
goals for RED STAR UNITED seal TELFORD UTD’s
fate before Acie Paskio hits his second of the game and
his side’s fourth early in the second-half +++ LILYPUTT
are cruising at two-nil when CARSHALTON produce
their only two shots of the game which both go in. It
looks like Oren Minzer’s side are in for a difficult replay
at the War Memorial Sports Ground until two goals in the
last four minutes put the league side through +++
SANTIAGO WANDS have no trouble with SILENT
RUNNINGS nor do EVERTON with FOREVER UTD +++
Conference side STEVENAGE will feel they should be
through to round two, but they will have to replay at
home to BALAMBAN after a goalless ninety minutes +++
No shocks at Gander Green Lane as SUTTON UNITED
are ousted by a confident STALIN CITY +++ CASTLE
DULOC hit seven past a shell-shocked SOUTHPORT,
Tzsareitou hitting a fine hat-trick +++ Some well received
joy for OAKLEY FOREST as stand-in manager Cristiano
“Amsterdam Cris” Demsee steers them past ALFRETON
TOWN +++ HASTINGS UTD & WEYMOUTH finishes
goalless +++

IT’S RAINING GOALS
This division is just mad and this week’s fixtures threw
up a situation where, apart from Niel Numphrey’s
W RAITH entertained the unmanaged OAKLEY
FOREST, all of the established teams played against
teams who are new and building for their first season of
league football. This resulted in thirty-nine goals in the
six games, including the five that Humphreys’ Ghosts
scored at the Hive, the only side who struggled in front
of goal were, bizarrely, league leaders MIDGARD
VIKINGS, who entertained basement club BALAMBAN
but could only manage two goals past the visitors’ only
decent player, goalkeeper Edwards. The main reason
for that is that despite carving out almost three dozen
decent chances, Edwards was only called into action on
about five occasions, stopping three of the efforts. In
fact, the Vikings were so wasteful that the visitors were
sitting back and inviting the home side to shoot, then
laughing at their efforts !!! A goal in each half had the
leaders two-nil ahead when Killy needlessly put through
his own goal with a ridiculously overhit back pass that
Barry had no chance of stopping, manager Dennis
Engslev was a nervous wreck by the final whistle
knowing that with abysmal finishing like that his side
were so very close to the season’s most embarrassing
result !!! COMICS UNITED are second having scored
twenty-four goals in their opening quartet of games, with
their visit to CASTLE DULOC last week being the only
game where they have faced a decent side. This week
they entertained READIEONIANS and again had no real
opposition to worry themselves about, so an outing for
seventeen year-old Cortez was on the cards, behind a
rather unnecessary four-man defence. Six-nil it finished
but if they hadn’t taken their foot off the gas for the
second-half I am sure it would have been double that.
One side who very nearly did double that, but fell short
with “only” the ten goals, are EVERTON, who swept
aside CEREAL KILLERS ten-one, with half of the goals
coming in the last quarter of the game as the visitors
ageing team tired badly.

+++ ESCHTERGOM UTD slaughter READIEONIANS
on their own turf, scoring seven to take over at the
head of group one. Previous leaders APPLEJACK UTD
kept up their one hundred percent record with a two-nil
win over PLUTO PIRATES, but Warwick Mansell’s
side’s bonus point gives them slight breathing space.
YOUNG LIONS FC put four past PONTE BRIDGE but
it’s probably too late now for the Lions. +++
+++ STALIN CITY get their second win in a row and the
bonus point for the four-nil win away to MIDGARD
VIKINGS takes them top of the group. Previous leaders
ROCKODROMO slip to fourth with a tame defeat away
to SANTIAGO WANDS, Rob Lewis’ attempt to play for
the draw falling short as Ballabriggs scores a brilliant
solo goal twelve minutes from time. COMICS UNITED
are second, laughing all the way as they manage to
score four goals from just five attempts, whilst
LILYPUTT manage just the one in an otherwise very
even game. +++

Skankers and NEW LORDS win one-nil with a sixtyninth minute Boudica goal to take pole position.
ARDMOR COASTERS are second on goal difference,
beating BARR VALLEY two-one and these top two are
now a point ahead of Richard Pickup’s side. Fourth are
KIRKBY AS but they are still right in there with six
points, just a single point behind Pickup’s team, a

+++ The top two clash at Saw Mill Park and although it’s
close and the one-all draw is a fair result, the bonus
point for being the away team has taken Dab Overli’s
ALBION THISTLE to the top of the group and they must
now be favourites to qualify. However, you can’t quite
write off Ally Hendry’s United and with that better goal
difference they will still fancy their chances. EVERTON
score three minutes from time to steal all the points from
struggling AQUALINA and they are now level with
Hendry’s side, but surely the third division side will falter
in their remaining two games !!! CEREAL KILLERS &
OAKLEY FOREST shared a six-goal farce which saw
practically every shot in the game count as both
‘keepers surely creep nearer to the end of their careers

Garian leave Craig Lawton’s second division promotion
hopefuls for the depths of division three, in return for
eighteen year-old apprentice Muesli AND 600k !!! +++
FOREVER UNITED send striker Owen and 400k to
SILENT RUNNING in return for apprentice striker Gargi,
the Scott Abraham rebuilding continues apace. +++
THE AUCTION
+++ 1379K seems a lot of money for CASTLE DULOC
to pay for young schoolboy sweeper Sverinsonn, but
rumour has it that manager Heath really is as stupid as
he looks !!! +++ CONCORDIANS FC pay just 479K for
wing-back Eriksson, manager Danny Breznitz obviously
like what he saw on his recent scouting trip to
Scandinavia +++ Another big spend by Heath at
CASTLE DULOC, this time signing defender Ulrikakaka
and pipping the next bidder by just 12k +++ Twenty-four
year-old midfield all-rounder Limpar signs for
SANTIAGO WANDS for just 2k short of 2 million, a
dangerous game being played by Oliver Jones if he
hasn’t the resources to train the player +++ SILENT
RUNNING are fast becoming a decent side and
nineteen year-old Erikson seems happy to sign on the
dotted line, saying in the press conference that he has
full faith in Scott Abrahams that he will soon be playing
higher-level football. +++ Utility man Mellberg signs for
EVERTON to strengthen Paul Hansford’s promotion
push +++ PSV BARKING pick up the brothers Erik,
Odense for 1089K & his older brother Bosie for 250K,

ROLLER LEVELS
The following are the minimum levels relating to each session for entering players into the rolling auction:SESSIONS
MIN LEVEL
1 to 3
5
4 to 5
6
6 to 8
7
9 to 10
8

9
These are also the same levels which decide whether a player will go straight to N/L when out of contract
rather then being put into the auction
AUCTION NOTES
From now onwards we would like you to always write, `don't sell if he turns star in the messages to GM box, as
well as ticking the relevant DON'T SELL box in teampick. NOTE THAT TICKING THE BOX IS THE MAIN
DECISION-MAKER IN WHETHER A PLAYER IS SOLD OR NOT, the GM Message is just to help the GM if there
is a problem!
Also PLEASE DO NOT leave partially-completed transfers in your transfer section, i.e. leaving the team name or
the player, etc., it is laziness on your part and might result in strange things happening to your team!!!
And you MUST spell the names of the players included in any deal correctly. If you don't then the program might
refuse them and they don't go through, so be careful.
In future, you are allowed multiple conditional bids from which the program will attempt to purchase just
one item. However, you are also allowed multiple Unconditional bids from which the program will attempt to
purchase all. teampick users just have to use the relevant boxes in the program, those who don't use teampick
must ensure they stick to these rules and make it clear on their turns just what they want to happen in their bidding
process.
LSO, be careful when doing deals etc. The program works on team order, which can cause problems. Best
idea is NOT to have 25 players in your squad at the start of a turn and do deals and sell to NL, cos if the
manager you are doing a deal with has a lower team number than yours, the program will say you have no
space in your squad, even though you are trying to sell players to the non-league. His orders will be
processed before yours!!

THE KICKABOUT COMMUNITY HERE
EMAIL CHAT LIST -
yes, you can subscribe to our email discussion group. There is a
list for general Kickabout topics, a list for each individual league, one for the vulcano, one for
teampick subscribers, even one for the weekend players. Learn more about the game, talk to
other players and the Gm. To subscribe to the main list send a blank email to [email protected]. For others you do the same except put the league, name with
Ka- infront of subscribe. However, some league lists have an ending in .co.uk instead of
.com, so if one doesn't work then please try the other!!
One thing to note about subscribing to the list, we post a regular schedule of where every
league is in the processing schedule, when it is sent out, when the latest return-by-date is.
This is of great help and if you have email you should really be receiving this.
NEW WEB-SITE
is now up and running,
www.Kickaboutonline. co.uk to see the goodies
Remember the league Despatch Schedule is posted to the web-site forum regularly.
