LOCAL LODGING INFORMATION: (800) 782-2775 Groomed Trails Cross Country Ski Areas Association Exploring mountains with winter traction is a nice way to break off on your own, or have the whole family join you. We lead a series of natural history walks that utilize snowshoes and explore the many snowshoe trails at WG. Snowshoes We are located at an abandoned alpine ski area and run by a group of backcountry telemark skiers. Hundreds of hours, mostly from volunteers, are spent each year nipping the NATO Breakfast Bowl, Cathedral Glades, and the Jack Frost woods. Always improving, never done, new glades every year. Telemark Glades We have developed a system of snow fences combined with grooming that catches windblown snow along a 5 km series of trails and slopes. It’s 245 foot vertical provides plenty of challenge. Snowfarming 30 km of trail are regularly groomed for both classic and freestyle skiing. We also groom slopes for Nordic downhill. A fleet of modern 4 stroke snowmobiles and a Pisten Bulley snowcat do much of the work. Most of our groomers are from Yellowstone Tracking Systems, the world’s best. 1. Easy Beginner (1 hr.-2.5km).
