The Ridgewater College Foundation awarded $327,979 in scholarships to 434
deserving students during the last school year and expects to award a similar
amount in 2015-16. We wish to recognize and congratulate the following
students who have been selected to receive scholarships for Spring Semester.

BREMER FINISH LINE
The Finish Line Scholarship grant of $200,000 was first awarded to Ridgewater College Foundation during the 2014-15 school year and provided 42 students with financial
assistance of approximately $4,000 each. The Otto Bremer Foundation renewed the Finish Line funding for a second year in October 2015 and 52 deserving students were
selected to receive the scholarship. Finish Line is a performance-based scholarship program designed to assist underrepresented students who are first generation, low
income, students of color, or who have a documented disability. The scholarship aims to improve persistence, retention, and degree completion for these students and
requires that qualified students enroll in the TRIO or Student Success programs at Ridgewater, which offer such specialized services as advising, workshops, one-on-
one progress meetings, and learning communities. Students awarded the Finish Line Scholarship for 2015-16 will receive a maximum of $3,200 in financial assistance
over the next 2-3 semesters, provided they successfully complete all of the performance requirements. Thank you to the Otto Bremer Foundation for changing the

ENDOWMENT FUNDS
The Ridgewater College Foundation manages more than $2.5 million in endowed funds, which generate approximately $50,000-$100,000 to support scholarships and
program needs each year.
Q: What is an endowment fund?
A: Endowed funds are permanent, self-sustaining funds which grow slowly through prudent investment. A percentage of the fund’s annual earnings are used to support the
College, in the form of scholarships for students and funds for program needs. When you establish an endowment fund at Ridgewater College, you create a permanent legacy
