bidding on silent and live auction items,
along with a delicious assortment of heavy
hors d’oeuvres, including those popular

are $5 and children 12 and under are admitted free. You may

Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County works to prevent accidental childhood injury, the leading killer
of children age 14 and under in the U.S. Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County is a member of Safe
Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing accidental injury. Safe
Kids Gainesville/Hall County was founded in 1992 and is led by Northeast Georgia Medical Center. In addition to the Medical
Center, the coalition is made up of numerous community agencies, including the Gainesville City Police Department, Hall
County Sheriff’s Office, Gainesville City Fire Department, Hall County Fire & EMS, Georgia Department of Natural Resources,
Hall County Extension Service, Army Corps of Engineers, Hall County and Gainesville City school systems and many others.
The coalition focuses its efforts on the prevention of childhood injury in the following areas: occupant safety, fire safety, water
safety, home safety and bike safety.

The Medical Center Auxiliary volunteers will be selling Susan
Snaps, a gourmet gingersnap
and Incredible Southern
Poundcakes. All proceeds will
benefit Safe Kids
Gainesville/Hall County. Susan
Snaps are made in Atlanta and
have been featured on Rachel
Ray as the “snack of the day.”
The owners developed the
gingersnap to help family
endure chemo treatments –
ginger being a natural stomach
soother. Incredible Southern
Poundcakes are a perfect blend of the family’s century old recipes
from the late 1800s. They appeared in Paula Deen's magazine as
one of Paula's Picks, and they are believed to be the best pound
cake you will ever taste. Please plan to stop by The Medical
Center Auxiliary booth to make your purchase – Susan Snaps and
Incredible Southern Poundcakes make excellent hostess and
teacher gifts. The Auxiliary will also be selling gift enclosure cards
with feature art by local artist Elizabeth Embry. The note cards will
be great to have on hand for holiday gift giving!

Martin Furniture and Design in downtown Gainesville has been in business almost 70 years! Welcome them to Marketplace where
they will showcase many accessories just perfect for holiday decorating and entertaining. They offer plenty of great, affordable gift
items for all the special people in your life and some you may want to treat yourself to! Burlap tree skirts, stockings and runners,
an assortment of ribbon, Kennebunk throws, scarves, holiday-scented candles and even a few jewelry items will be new this year.
And as always, they will have a few stunning furniture pieces on display to complement any home!
Gainesville Ballet
The Gainesville Ballet cast of "The Nutcracker"
will visit from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8. Bring
the children to enjoy visiting with the cast while
shopping and learn more about the upcoming
2013 Nutcracker performance.

Snack or Lunch with a Friend at the Tea Carts
You are sure to enjoy lunch with friends at Marketplace. Slip out to the Green Street Porch or
down to the Chestatee Room and relax while enjoying a delicious lunch. Marketplace
volunteers will provide friendly, helpful service at booth tea carts. This year Honeybaked
Gainesville is partnering with The Medical Center
Auxiliary to make Honeybaked ham, turkey or
roast beef sandwich boxed lunches with chips and
a delicious cookie available at the Chestatee Room
Tea Cart. You may select a chicken salad or pimento
cheese sandwich or salad with soup on the Green Street Porch, and choose chips and a taste
of dessert. Thank you for supporting Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County by lunching at the
Tea Carts!
The Medical Center Auxiliary sincerely thanks local artist and former Marketplace
chair, Elizabeth Embry, for donating the Preview Party feature art shown on the
front cover. Elizabeth is the owner of D'stressed Designs where she enjoys focusing
on hand-painted and distressed furniture as well as custom signs. She received an
interior design degree from the University of Georgia in 1993 and has been growing
her business for about five years. Elizabeth is married to Cooper Embry, a native of
Gainesville and they have three children that keep them active. Both Cooper and
Elizabeth enjoy being involved in the community, and she is happy to be involved
with Marketplace again after serving as a tri-chair 2007 and 2008. Please visit
