Designated natural treasures. The cavern was created
after lava flowed, and the wall is covered by ice.
Groundwater of Mt. Fuji leaked from the ceiling
during winter creates natural icicles and ice pond.
A lava cave with the total length of longer than 350 meters,
and the cave wall maintains its original state since the lava
stalactite surface was developed. The cave is known for a
hibernaculum for bats since it is warm even in winter and
does not freeze unlike many of the other caves.

At the summit, religion related facilities such as shrines
are dotted along the crater wall. With the start of worship
climbing to Mt. Fuji, religious acts at the summit was
systemized along with the construction of temples and the
contribution of Buddhist statues. Praying to the “rising
sun” at the summit and “Ohachimeguri” which one goes
around the summit eight times, are still performed today
by many mountain climbers.

Located in Shimoyoshida district. Since the ancient times, people have prayed
the safety of people living in the area. At Yabusame Festival held every
September, fortunes of the coming year are determined by horseshoe prints.
In Koshogatsu (small New Year), there is also a festival called Tsutsugayu
Festival which tells the number of Mt. Fuji climbers who will visit Mt. Fuji.
It is the only temple of the Rinzai sect in Yamanakako area. It
is deeply associated with the Takeda family and was a place
where the Takeda family prayed for a victory. There is the
grave of Tamaki Miura who was highly renowned throughout
the world as a great opera singer in the early Showa period.
