It should NOT be considered a substitute for
effective inventory management or proof against
stocking outages. A “Customer” is defined as
any Star Holdings account holder with a unique

The following guidelines and limitations are
designed to ensure consistent and effective
inventory of QS items for our entire sales channel.
Star Holdings reserves the right to limit the
number of QS identified items on any order, at any
time, to ensure consistent supply.
QUICK SHIP PROGRAM TERMS
1. All orders, regardless of
size, are entered to ‘Ship
Complete’. As such, any
order comprising both QS
and non-QS items will ship
at the rate of the last item
produced.
2. Not every request
for QS items are
actually required by our
customers in 24 hours.
To avoid confusion
and ensure customer
satisfaction, Star strongly
recommends submitting

a separate order for
QS items that are truly
required for shipment in
the proscribed 24-hour
timeframe.
3. A maximum of ten
(10) QS items per order
for next business day
shipment.
4. Per calendar week a
maximum of ten (10) QS
items may be guaranteed
for next business day
shipment per Customer.
5. A maximum of three
(3) identical QS items per
order for next business
day shipment.
8. Customers on credit
hold or exceeding credit
limit with Star do not
qualify for QS shipments.
6. Items are guaranteed
as listed, without
variation to electrical
requirements, gas type or
construction.
9. We reserve the right to
hold free freight orders
until order is complete.
Customers may request
release of such orders and
pay appropriate freight
charges.
7. Star will designate the
freight carrier for QS
shipments. Customer
designated carriers
cannot guarantee timely
arrival.
10. Items may be added
or removed from this
program without notice.

PILOT SAFETY
Direct Spark Ignition
lights the burner as
demanded by the
thermostat, eliminating
the need for a standing
pilot burner. Requires
electric power.
THERMOSTAT OPTIONS
SOLID STATE THERMOSTAT
Electronic controls with thermocouples embedded in
the plate material react almost instantly to surface
temperature changes. Cycles the burner more
frequently for more consistent performance. Surface
temperature control of ±4°F to set point is typical.
Temperature control range of 150-450°F.
ELECTRIC SNAP-ACTION THERMOSTAT
Electric controls cycle the burner completely ON-orOFF as demanded by surface temperature changes.
Requires electric power. Surface temperature control
of ±15°F to set point is typical for embedded probes.
MECHANICAL SNAP-ACTION THERMOSTAT
MECHANICAL controls cycle the burner completely
ON-or-OFF as demanded by surface temperature
changes. Controls are heat, water and grease resistant,
with no power required. Surface temperature control
of ±15°F to set point is typical for embedded probes.
MODULATING THERMOSTAT
MECHANICAL diaphram and probe controls the burner.

MAP POLICY
Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Policy
As an authorized dealer or distributor of equipment for Star-LangHolman-Toastmaster brands (referred to below as “Star Group”), be it
through a buying group affiliation or through an independent relationship, all dealers must comply with our mandatory MAP program. We ask
them to follow our policy and to remain in good standing. The program
is in place to solidify brand equity and ensure our dealer partners are as
competitive and profitable with our brands as possible.
MINIMUM ADVERTISED PRICING
The Minimum Advertised Price is 50% off LIST. All advertised,
displayed, or listed prices on the Internet or in print of Star Group products in any format on the Dealer’s Internet website, or Internet-based
account, are subject to this policy. Refer to the most current Star
Group Price Book(s), including amendments as may develop between
printings.
MAP POLICY
Our policy was created to develop strong brand equity, which is beneficial to our company and those of our Dealer partners. Dealers who
have found additional ways to represent lower available pricing for our
products are working against our policy, and working against development of our brand equity. If you wish to represent a Star Group product,
either through electronic or printed media, the pricing must be listed
clearly at or above the MAP price. Any exemptions from this policy are
solely at the discretion of the Star Group, with written approval by a
Vice President. A Dealer may sell or distribute to another Dealer, but is
responsible for ensuring the
subsequent reseller is also following our MAP policy as all serial numbers are tracked through you. If a MAP violation is identified but cannot
be traced to a Star Group account holder through reasonable means,
the Star Group may track the violator via purchase of equipment from
the site to audit serial number(s). In this case, the cost of the purchase may be debited from the account of any Star Group Dealer found
to be the source of the equipment, and constitutes an immediate 2nd
Violation as outlined below. Mechanisms to circumvent MAP policy
evolve over time. Below are guidelines that include approved and disapproved practices, though any means of representing product price
is expected to adhere to the intent of this policy, even if a specific
practice is not explicitly prohibited.
Approved Practice
• List the Minimum price or higher. It should be listed clearly and
unadulterated on your web site, publication or other media,
and display appropriately in a search engine.
• Sell Star Group products on their merit, value, features and benefits.
• Sell on the unique value proposition of your company, including your
ability to provide a great product, service and customer support.
• In lieu of stating or referring to a price on the Internet, a Dealer may
indicate “Call for Pricing” (see Exceptions to MAP Policy, below)
Disapproved Practice
• Suggest or provide a price below MAP through any of the following
mechanisms:
• “Place the item in cart”
• Strike through the MAP pricing
• “Call for best pricing” (see Exceptions to MAP Policy, below)
• Ask to “Email for lower pricing”, or provide lower pricing via email
without Personalized Contact, as outlined below.
• Use alternate alias websites and/or re-direct to your site with MAP
or below MAP pricing, including but not excluded to eBay.com,
Amazon.com and other online ‘consolidator’ sites.
• Changes to pricing structure outside of ‘normal business hours’,
including weekends and holidays.
• Any other mechanism for avoiding or circumventing the MAP
policy as written.
Exceptions to MAP Policy
• Used Equipment
• Dedicated Customer Accounts
• Internet-based sites with a dedicated customer login, indicative
of pre-existing and ongoing private business relationship. This
includes chain accounts, dedicated private networks, terminals
and/or kiosks. In all cases the pricing listed through these means
must not be accessible to the casual internet user or search
engine.
• Personalized Contact
• The Star Group endorses and encourages personalized customer
contact that supports development of brand equity, superior
customer service and support. More ‘traditional’ face-to-face
customer interaction and sales techniques can now often be
handled by an individual over the phone or through a chat-box (or
equivalent) via the Internet. This contact must always be conduct
ed by a human being – artificial mechanisms such as ‘bots’ or
interactive voice systems of any type are excluded. For the pur
poses of MAP, this level of contact is considered equal to face-toface communication.
• Phone Sales, negotiations in the field or at Dealer’s place of
business
• “Call for Pricing”
• May be listed in lieu of any other pricing option, provided that it
results in a Personalized Contact experience (see above).
• Pricing for the product may not be found or identified by any
means via the Dealer website, publication or Internet search
engine.
• Excludes any suggestion of pricing lower than MAP, including but
not reserved to the terms “best”, “exclusive” and “lower”.
• In-Store Advertising
• Merchandising such as Point-of-Sale, shelf-talkers, pricing tags,
end cap displays and window displays. Within the guidelines as
written, a Dealer is free to sell any product at any price.
ENFORCEMENT OF MAP POLICY
The Star Group makes no exception for lack of awareness, or timeliness, in regards to enforcement of MAP policy. All pricing changes are
communicated to the market at least 60-days before implementation.
It is the responsibility of our Dealer partners to be aware of these publications and integrate them into their business model in a complete
and timely manner.
The Star Group reviews Internet pricing using an outside 3rd Party
monitoring service to assure consistent adherence to this policy by
all Dealers. In addition, documented and verified pricing excursions
reported in good faith by other Star Group Dealers may be considered
as violations.
If and when a violation of this policy is noted, the affected Dealer will
be contacted and given two business days to make the necessary
changes and return to compliance. This applies to all Violation levels. In
the event of extenuating circumstances, reasonable accommodations
can be made at the discretion of the Star Group.
Dealers violating MAP Policy over any 12 month period will be
penalized as follows:
• 1st Violation – Warning via phone AND email
• 2nd Violation – Formal written warning on company letterhead,
and/or via email from a Regional Manager and Executive.
• 3rd Violation
• All in-house Star Group orders held until compliance is verified
• Forfeiture of all base rebates for that quarter (or preceding
quarter) by the Dealer
• 4th Violation
• Loss of discount, marketing and all rebates accrued, and future
rebates earned in that fiscal year. This applies whether the dealer
is a member of a Buying Group or independently representing the
brand.
• Final Violation - Account with all Star Group brands is terminated.
Thank you for ensuring that our policy is followed and that you are
doing everything to ensure your company remains in good standing
and a strong partner.
