Rowayton, Conn. – April 24, 2015 – William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty
(http://www.williampitt.com/eng) announced today that the firm’s Rowayton
brokerage will be hosting an artist reception as part of the “Sundays at
Sotheby’s” series, a monthly program in which the office welcomes new local art
to display in its office. The reception is typically held on the first Sunday of each
month. Local artist David Dunlop will introduce his work on Sunday, May 3,
2015 from 4-6 PM.
Dunlop is a painter, teacher and lecturer, as well as the writer and artist on the
Emmy Award-winning PBS series Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop
(http://paintingclass.net/aboutNEWPURCHASE.htm). He is also on the faculty of
the celebrated Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Conn. Based in Wilton,
Conn., Dunlop is widely known in the local art scene for his landscape paintings
that draw from both Renaissance techniques and modern-day science. He was
chosen as the featured artist of this year’s 53rd Annual CCNS Art Show
(http://www.ccnsartshow.org/), a local charity fundraiser running from June 4-7
where buyers will enjoy a 40% tax deduction on purchases and proceeds will
benefit the Community Cooperative Nursery School in Rowayton. The annual
art show brings hundreds of visitors, many of whom are Dunlop’s own
dedicated fans, to the town of Rowayton each year.
During the May 3rd “Sunday’s at Sotheby’s” artist reception, the Rowayton office
will serve as a preview stage for the patrons of CCNS to come see Dunlop’s
work prior to opening night. In addition to showcasing his artwork and greeting

guests, at 5 PM Dunlop will discuss the “psychology of perception” and how it is
recognized in art. All events of the evening are open to the public.
“I am so excited that David’s work will be featured in our Rowayton brokerage,”
said Darien agent Molly Crosland, who spearheads much of the brokerage’s
artist series. “Not only is David an incredibly talented artist with quite the local
fan base, he is also an amazing lecturer, and hearing him speak at the
upcoming artist’s reception will surely be a major highlight of an incredible
evening.”
