We Will WALK By Faith Frazier
Walk to the Beat….a catchy title
for our Walk for Life this year, but
the underlying meaning is from God’s
treasury of wisdom and blessings. Our
verse for the year is from Proverbs
4:23, which says, “Guard your heart
for it is the wellspring of Life.” There is
something about the heart! When young
parents see the baby’s beating heart, even
their vocabulary changes. No longer is
this just a fetus or a blob of tissue, but
now he or she is a baby – a baby who
already has many qualities that make him
or her special and irreplaceable. There
has been a heart change in mom and dad!
Since guarding our hearts is so important
to securing life, here are the 5 ways we
will WALK:
1. We will walk to the beat of Christian
praise music - a wonderful way to start
your day. Music penetrates the heart,
mind and soul, and boosts your strength
and energy to serve Him.
2. We will walk together - as the Bible
says, two are better than one. This
provides a strong bond and the blessing
of comradery and fellowship, not to
mention accountability.
3. We will walk with God - in His ways
and in His footsteps. The Bible says
whatever you find to do, do it with all
your strength and do it for the Lord.
This often means our motivations are
completely separate from the world’s
desires. We are quite peculiar. Maybe we
can duck walk!
4. We will walk with energy and
passion - on a mission for life. Supporting
New Hope provides us the perfect
platform from which to be effective in
that mission.
5. We will walk in faith - knowing that
the key is to finish well. We don’t always
know the outcome of our walk with
God, so for now we just walk in faith.
II Corinthians 4:18 says, “So we fix our
eyes not on what is seen but what is
unseen since what is seen is temporary
but what is unseen is eternal.”
Sometimes our clients leave us
hanging. Though we are so willing
to walk with them through the entire
pregnancy and beyond, we don’t always
know where they go when they walk
away. We can only know that God sent
them to us for a reason, and we turn that
concern back to the Lord. I think we’ll
know when we walk through the gates of
heaven, but we are not accountable for
the outcome, only the walk.
Very often families return to us with
a heart change, child in tow and so
equipped to live a life without regret. For
that we are oh so thankful for any part
we may play - it fills our hearts with joy!
Now is the time to live our lives for
the Lord and to walk with others who are
striving to do the same. So, just like we
used to say as children,
Ready…Set…Go!
Guard your heart for it is
the wellspring of life.

Walk in Love, Light & Wisdom! By Denise Nevins
Walk to the Beat is our theme for this year’s Walk. As we
prepare for this fundraising event that brings us together
to celebrate life, it causes me to ponder and be thankful to
have our Lord leading, guiding and directing our steps, as He
fits our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace to:
Walk in His Ways and not in the ways of
the world. For you were once darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord. Walk
as children of light. Ephesians 5:8
Within this verse is our testimony that we are children
of God! What wonderful news to share with our clients
Teens, Sex & Social Media
as they come to us in crisis mode, needing assistance
and not knowing where to turn. We are able to share the
hope of Jesus Christ and share the salvation message that
they too can be redeemed in Jesus! These are our divine
appointments at New Hope Center. We would love to have
YOU as a part of our Walk to the Beat event. Come out and
walk in His Love, His Light and His Wisdom.
Will you also pray for direction in volunteering with us?
Consider walking with someone through their unplanned
pregnancy by becoming a mentor! Our next volunteer
training will be May 21, 23 & 24. Call Denise Nevins at

for more information. We look forward to seeing you at the

Teens, Sex and Social Media are common and
often intimidating topics for parents, youth leaders,
educators, and other adults both inside and outside the
church. Are Instagram, Snapchat, Tinder, Kik, Tumblr,
BurnNote and other online tools robbing our youth of
healthy, meaningful, and loving relationships? Are you
struggling with how to safely navigate and direct the
teens in your life through the challenges of our rapidly
changing social culture? You are not alone. Let New
Hope Center help you and your friends by providing
education that will help you understand the social
challenges and frustrations faced by today’s teens
on a daily basis. Contact Marla Specht (mspecht@
newhopecenter.com or 859-341-0766, ext. 11) to learn
more about our educational programs for teens and
parents that can be offered at your small group, youth
group, or any other church or community gathering.
Our programs can be tailored to meet your needs from
a one-hour presentation to an overnight retreat.
Call us today to schedule this vitally important
program for your group!

Stepping out for three glorious nights of FUN! By Deb Wadsworth
The three much anticipated New Hope Center FatherDaughter Dances were held on February 19, 20 & 26th and
were an experience to remember. It seems each year is more
fun than the last. The Kindergarten through 5th graders got
to ham it up for the camera in “candyland”, and the 6th
through 12th graders had a beautiful “starry night” and an
opportunity to pull their dads into the instant photo booth.
Even our staff and volunteers joined in the fun. We ALL
look forward to this event each year – and for good reason!
Watching all the girls in their beautiful dresses and dads
in their handsome suits twirling together on the dance floor
was an amazing and heart-warming sight!
Though you wouldn’t know it by watching, there is much
more happening here than fancy clothes, great music, fun
dancing and delicious treats. This is one of those rare and
special times for fathers and daughters to get to know each
other better while having a lighthearted evening out. We
know that girls who develop strong, loving relationships
with their fathers are far less likely to seek affirmation in
unhealthy relationships and risky sexual behaviors.
Daughters need to know that they can talk to their fathers
about anything, and that their fathers can be trusted to listen,
guide, and love them through life.
These annual Father-Daughter Dances are just one of the
ways that New Hope Center helps to strengthen families.
Though these dances are not a means of raising funds for
New Hope Center (the ticket price covers only some of the
expense of the evening), we’ve seen first-hand the life-long
positive impact of these events.
Everyone present saw the joy in the faces of these lovely
young women and their dads. What better reminder could
there be of how much our heavenly Father loves and cares
for us!
