Once again the Southern Motorcycle Club Committee has worked very hard to organise the first ever British Enduro Championship round to be held on the Isle of Man. The 2 Day Enduro, as it was first known, has gone from strength to strength. This will be our 11th consecutive year. We still have as our main sponsor M&M Concrete which we are truly thankful off and now also Ellan Vannin Fuels, Metzler, Road & Track, Brierley Packaging, Promenade T-Shirts and the Isle of Man Steam Packet. Also a big thank you to our catering staff for providing the local homemade food for the event and the Hogg Motorsport Ambulance Team which support our club throughout this event and all through the year. The event could not be held without the willing support and help of the dedicated team of club and committee members. Also a big thank you to the land owners for their co-operation in granting permission for this event to pass over their land, DEFA for the use of the plantations and the Department of Infrastructure. A special thank you goes out to our Chairman and Clerk of the Course Nigel Beaumont and his helpers for the many long hours of hard work they have all put into this event not forgetting all the other events the Club organisers during the year. Yours in Sport Brenda Crellin Secretary 24th-25th September All Terrain Rally Official Campsite & Start area Special Tests 2016 The special tests will be ridden and timed every lap, no sighting laps are planned, tests will be available for walking from Thursday evening 4th August. Saturday and Sunday - Special Test 1, Carnagrie Cross Country Test • Latitude 54° 10.756’N • Longitude -04° 40.410’W • OS map ref 256794 Based on the clubs own land the Carnagrie cross country special test will be used for both days and ridden every lap. The direction of the special test will be reversed for day 2 Carnagrie will also be the hub for the event once the competitors have left the starting area of the TT grandstand. With a fuelling point and time check also located at Carnagrie there is ample car parking, Food, refreshments and toilet facilities. Saturday - Special Test 2, Eary Stane Plantation • Latitude 54° 07.362’N • Longitude -04° 41.565’W • OS map ref 242700 A technical special test in the plantation, the test start is at the top of a stone track, access up the track is restricted to competitors only. Parking facilities will be available at the bottom of the track that will be clearly signposted with a short walk to the test start and finish. Sunday - Special Test 3, Arcahallagan Plantation • Latitude 54° 10.303’N • Longitude -04° 36.477’W • OS map ref 298783 Starting adjacent to the road with easy access this open and flowing plantation test will provide a good balance of terrain for the championship. The start and finish is next a plantation carpark ideal for access by support crew, access into the plantation carpark will be restricted to support crews only.
