Note: Based upon family knowledge this plaque is most likely to relate to 345454 Private T. Cocking, 16th (Royal Devon and R. North Devon Yeomanry) Bn, Devonshire Regiment, who died 18th September 1918. He is buried with honour at Ste. Emilie Valley Cemetery, Villers-Faucon. £40-50 645 A GREAT WAR MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO MIDSHIPMAN ARTHUR WELLESLEY ALISTER WILSON, 'H.M.S. VANGUARD', ROYAL NAVY (Arthur Wellesley Alister Wilson). Note (1): Midshipman Arthur Wilson, the son of Arthur Wellesley Wilson and Gertrude Wilson of Maida Hill, London, died on 9th July 1917, at the age of 17. He is buried with honour at Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery. Note (2): He was one of an estimated 804 men who were killed when H.M.S. Vanguard suffered an accidental internal explosion at Scapa Flow.
