He studied at the Academy of Applied Art under professors Karel Stipl and Plátek and became the lead designer at the Škrdlovicé glassworks in 1967, before becoming an independent studio glass artist in 1977. His work can be found in many museums and important institutions all over the world. In 2012 ,Vízner was ranked amongst the top ten of the most influential artists of all times by the Studio Glass movement in the United States.
