22 dwellings in the water
Completed 2009
Koningshof is located on the green outskirts of Amsterdam
Southeast. The neighborhood consists mainly of low rise buildings and is rich in greenery and water.
The 22 ‘water dwellings’ are situated in two blocks adjacent to
the water. The dwellings have a wooden deck which hovers
above the water. The dwellings consist of two floors and have
a floor space of 100m2. The living area with an open kitchen is
located on the ground floor, the first floor has three bedrooms
and a bathroom. As an extra option the occupants could chose
for an extension and terrace on the roof. The roof terrace offers
the residents unobstructed views of the lake and green environment.
All dwellings have a front garden with space for a car and bikes.
The facades are made with a dark brick which creates robust
and sturdy volumes. The natural toned window frames and optional wooden roof extension provide a warm touch contrasting
with the dark brickwork.
