Kerry Armstrong and Jay Laga’aia are feeling the love as a new series of BED OF ROSES returns to
ABC1; the hugely successful feel-good film, BRAN NUE DAE debuts in the lead-up to Australia Day;
and the award-winning Showtime series THE TUDORS makes its royal ascension to the ABC2
throne.
If summer screams sport, then check out our brand new quiz show, THE TROPHY ROOM, backed up
by a sizzling season of WOMENS SPORT hosted by Stephanie Brantz, featuring basketball, football
and golf, as well as the biennial AFL INDIGENOUS ALL STARS match.
Santa ABC has really come through for Christmas this year and top of the tree is the DOCTOR WHO
CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, fast-tracked from the UK and premiering on Boxing Day night. Throughout
the Christmas week have a hearty laugh with A VERY SPECKY CHRISTMAS, THE CATHERINE TATE
CHRISTMAS SPECIAL and THE BEST OF MR BEAN. Gather the family together to enjoy the KUNG
FU PANDA HOLIDAY SPECIAL premiere and SCARED SHREKLESS (yes, ogres enjoy festivities too)
along with CAROLS FROM ST MARY’S. Even MYLES BARLOW gets in on the act, with his own
seasonal special, reviewing traditional Christmas activities such as Giving and Indulgence.
Australia’s most gleeful young performers (all 3,000 of them) are set to rock your world with the
SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR. Summer in Queensland means peak time for the men and women of
CHOPPER RESCUE and we pay tribute to the Australian athlete who made a stand for humanity in
SALUTE.
Kids will enjoy the new ABC3 quiz show WHAT DO YOU KNOW?; while everyone’s favourite
prankster, Scotty T is back with fresh episodes of PRANK PATROL. And for the little ones, ABC FOR

A quiz show for casual and committed sports fans, The Trophy Room celebrates Australia’s
national obsession. As well as answering sports questions based on current and classic trivia,
two star-studded teams of three panellists must conquer a physical challenge based around a
sporting theme. Combining sports chat, knowledge and trivia with parlour games and physical
sporting challenges, The Trophy Room promises to be good clean fun the whole family can enjoy,
with an Australia Day special thrown in for good measure. An ABC TV and Granada co-production.

SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR

3000 of the state's most talented singers, dancers, and musicians, including a 1200-voice choir,
80 piece orchestra, 1500 dancers, rock, jazz and brass bands and soloists from ages 5 to 18 are

version of the show will then screen on Sunday 19 December at 7pm on ABC2. (90min)

Myles turns his critical eye to the most celebrated occasion of the year: Christmas. In examining
the practice of Giving, Myles attempts to impart the lessons of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to a
reluctant Andrew O’Keefe, with some expert help from Barry Crocker. Indulgence sees Myles
spending up and wreaking havoc at his ex-wife’s office Christmas party, in an effort to examine
festive excess. And in the Letter of the Season, family secrets explode when Myles invites an old
friend around for dinner in order to capture the Christmas Spirit. (1hr)

A unique cultural and sporting event, the best Indigenous Australian rules footballers in the
country take on an AFL side. Under lights at Darwin’s Marara Oval, the All Stars will face Richmond
Football Club. Expect current AFL stars like Cyril Rioli (Hawthorn), Adam Goodes (Sydney) and
Austin Wonaeamirri (Melbourne) to be considered for the All-Star line-up, which complements the
ABC’s coverage of the Tiwi Island Grand Final and is another opportunity for a national audience to
see our leading Indigenous Australian Rules players in action.

deeper interest in the world of alternative energy by showing the incredible solutions science is working
