Banking on it
To follow on from our two Club Events, a film
night, and a tea and cake social with a Q&A
on bike maintenance, a track session at the
Newport Velodrome is being organised by
Stuart Wroot..
The Session is on 29th May from 16:00 to
18:00, all club members are welcome whether
or not they have ridden a banked indoor
track before. The session will be coached
and beginners will be shown how to ride the
track. It’s great fun! If insufficient members are
interested, friends will be invited to join us.
Specific fixed wheel track bikes are
required and can be hired from the velodrome
(at a cost of £10.00 for the two hour session)
which is included in the cost below. The
hire bikes are fitted with Look Keo pedals,
which cannot be changed. We would advise
riders to fit Look Keo cleats for the session,
as the alternative is to ride with “trainers” on
pedal adaptors.
The cost of the session will be £30.00,
excluding transport to and from the venue.
Last time we ran this event members got
together and we went in two or three cars.
To reserve a place for this session please
advise Stuart Wroot and provide a £20.00
deposit to reserve your place, this will
cover the hire of the Velodrome and coach.
Additionally £10.00 will need to be paid at the
velodrome for the track bike hire.
