The Main Hall is a flexible space consisting of 3 individual sections that can be adapted to suit any occasion. These rooms are available in various formats including boardroom, workshop or seminar layout. All rooms feature various audio-visual equipment including LCD screens and one with ceiling mounted projector. We also have a private interview or consult room and crèche area and/or secure playground available for hire. Aberfoyle Social Links Wednesday 10 am-2 pm A social program that meets on Wednesdays for people who require support, socialisation and special attention to enhance their life. A wide variety of activities and occasional bus trips. A lowcost home-cooked meal is included on program day. Transport to and from the Centre is available for a nominal fee. HACC assessment criteria applies. The Program is managed by ACH Group through funding provided by Home and Community Care. To register, phone 1300 224 477 Active Bodies Tuesday 5.45 - 6.30pm $8 /session for a casual class but multi visit passes available at a cheaper rate. A High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) program that is fun, safe and suitable for over 50’s and ALL fitness levels. HIIT involves repeatedly exercising at a high intensity for a short period of time followed by a short period of rest and has been shown to significantly reduce subcutaneous fat, especially abdominal fat, as well as total body mass and insulin sensitivity. HITT has even been used to improve the wellbeing of people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes and stable angina as well as those recovering from heart failure and other cardiac related procedures. Contact the Centre 8270 5377 to register your interest Adult Community Education Foundation Skills Non-Accredited Training English Language and Literacy Support Program Time: 9.30-11.30 am Tuesday and Thursday Funding assistance provided by: Term 3-Commencing Tuesday 26 July and Thursday 28 July Term 4-Commencing Tuesday 18 October and Thursday 20 October Our Program is designed to provide a high level of support to assist learners to further develop their ability to function effectively in life, community and work. First and second-language speakers of English experiencing any degree of difficulty with the written and/or spoken English language are encouraged to attend. Our program has a focus on English language and literacy support, including: Functional Literacy- English conversation, reading, writing, grammar, punctuation, spelling, numeracy skills Cultural Literacy - understanding the cultures that make up our Australian society, its language, history, laws, systems and customs Digital Literacy- using computers and other technology to access information for personal, family and work needs Employment Literacy- setting career goals, identifying training options/work pathways, writing applications and resumes Financial Literacy- managing money in order to maintain and/or improve your standard of living, health and wellbeing Health Literacy- the Australian health system, reading/ interpreting information and advice relating to health and wellbeing Environmental Literacy – understanding issues relating to the environment Our individual and small group sessions are delivered by volunteer tutors in a friendly community setting. Our aim is to assist you to learn at your own pace to achieve your own goals. We welcome all adults not attending secondary school. New volunteer tutors are always welcome to apply. The children will learn food handling and preparing, kitchen safety, recipe reading and skills such as chopping and measuring all whilst cooking something delicious to eat and share.
