Editorial ::
Dear Reader,
“I have very simple taste: I am always
satisfied with the best!” As Oscar Wilde
is reported to have said. An exceptional
hotel with exceptional cuisine and
exceptional service will then of course
not be content with the commonplace
when deciding on a carpet.
To consistently meet a demand such as
this means not making the path from a
vision to reality an easy route. It was a
fascinating experience to work with
professionals who are masters of their
trade and to get really involved with
them in developing individual solutions
together, step by step. All our expectations are now more than fulfilled. I
would therefore like to thank the staff of
Halbmond Teppichwerke, who have
supported us proactively in literally
providing our hotel with a new “base”
for success for of our hotel.
See for yourself on the following pages
the full extent of the success that our
“simple taste” has created. I hope you
have a lot of fun!
Yours

Designed for
Gourmets
A treat for the taste buds ... a treat for the eyes. This applies
in the Romantic Hotel & Restaurant Pattis in Dresden; we
aim to impress each and every guest who values impeccable
taste and an overall dining experience. This comfortable five
star hotel with gourmet restaurant and a versatile range of
comforts has recently refurbished corridors and rooms, using
dare we say, only the best materials.

steam grotto or during cosmetic treatments.
They also stay overnight in elegantly furnished
rooms and suites which leave nothing to
be desired from the overall room concept,
through to the most minute detail.
“Perfection can really be fun – working together with a
team of specialists and with guests who enjoy quality,
shows me everyday that it was worth the expense!”
Now even the floor composition is exemplary,
which has been especially co-ordinated to
the Art Nouveau atmosphere of the furniture
and decoration, by working closely with Frank
Pattis. In total 1,110 m2 of carpets, which were
individually designed in their pattern and required a special installation technique to the
particularities of the corridors and individual
rooms, were installed.

Action!
Life – in motion
Whether the Terminator is coming, a dramatic love story develops on the sinking Titanic or Disney
characters capture the hearts of young and old: The screens of multiplex cinemas show life in
motion, attracting the most various types of visitors. It’s no easy task to satisfy all target groups
and at the same time fulfil the expectations of the operating company, who expect that a carpet
doesn’t just have a perfect appearance but also a high level of resilience.

“Dream world and reality come together ideally in the
Multiplexkino Wroclaw Pasaz Grunwaldzki – the overall
interior architecture of the interior results in a ‘light play
theatre’ a perfect exterior form.”
Dariusz Urbaniak, Carpet Installer
Since the concept of moving pictures, cinemas have been opening up a path into a
dream world of suspense, romance, fantasy
and action to their audience. Today modern
multiplex cinemas like the one in Wroclaw in
Poland show films in 20 halls at the same
time. However, even if with regard to size,
technology and services, many changes
have been made but the fundamental essence is still what was earlier termed “light
play theatre”. The cinema in the Trade Centre
Wroclaw Pasaz Grunwaldzki now lives up to
this concept with its atmosphere.
A fascinating architecture with artificial and
natural lighting creates a foretaste of the experience to come, even from the very first
glance. While the light has a playful aspect,
a natural flowing movement arises from the
curved shaped walls, ceilings and the entire
interior. The fundamental geometric shape of
the interior design finds ellipsis again in the

a complex and error-prone installation of individual “puzzle parts“, all surfaces can be
relatively easily and efficiently installed in
strips. Ultimately these are not only produced
with precise pattern repeats, but also according to the plans which have been developed
together with the carpet installer Monti. Rolls
(strips) were numbered and labeled – this allows for ease of intallation.
As with all Halbmond Teppichwerke productions, the overlapping strip designed pattern
has worked again, without inlays. Instead of

Presence ::
The patterns of the Halbmond trade fair stand at
DOMOTEX have been very different in the last few
years but still always have one thing in common:
They are pleasing. The bright colours and fancy patterns show the customer that Halbmond Teppichwerke can put any idea and effect on a carpet.
We’re there
where you are!
Customer contact is very important to the team of Halbmond Teppichwerke.
Manufacturers are represented at the important trade fairs of the sector. Sometimes large, sometimes small, but always with an unusual, eye-catching appearance!
“Transgress the narrow constraints of a standardised world
and give your imagination free rein.” This is how it is, not
just in Step by Step 2 but also on the trade fair runners
which Halbmond Teppichwerke presented this year at the
specialist fair, CASA, in Salzburg. A motto which also gives
Johanna Hartung inspiration: In the Get2Gether sector
artists known for their creative “pouring technique” used
plain carpets as the canvas for their colourful textile work,
which were placed at the feet of the astonished visitors to
the trade fair.
It is a tradition: the DOMOTEX trade fair runners by
HTW Design Carpet, which this time were completely characterised by nature. “Forest Fantasy exhibits an interaction
of abstract flora with elements of the indigenous fauna,
which together create a cheerful, spring like fantasy forest.”,
explains Sigrid Neumann, the designer in charge of this
year’s concept. “the small cosmos and the friendly entities
which populate it, refer discreetly to the topic of ecology.
And to the careful handling of nature and its resources.”
“At events such as the autumn meeting at the Flairhotels, Top Supply and of course INTERNORGA people
come together who have one common interest: offering
their guests only the best. Their feedback is fundamental for the further development of our company.”

Research and Technology ::
Close to customers,
close to the market
As Tesa is to the adhesive film sector or
Tempo to the paper handkerchief sector,
which is what Aquafil is to the thread sector:
Manufacturers of first-class carpets use the
name as a synonym for high quality polyamide 6 BFC fibres.
From an idea to
reality
Dear Reader,
If I seem familiar then you have probably seen me at the DOMOTEX trade
fair stand. On the first pages of the Step by Step 2 books hot off the presses
for the trade fair I shall take you through the idea of the reality of carpets
produced from draft ideas. I will then leave you alone: with your creativity.
And with innovative pattern ideas which have imaginative names like “Pixel
Poetry”, “Lemon Crystals” and “Velvet Kingdom”. I could see while taking
pictures that the designers from Halbmond Teppichwerke put a lot of their
heart and soul into these collections. All parties concerned did their utmost
to make the image concept created in the run-up as realistic as possible. In
any case I would be delighted if you rediscover a part of this commitment
in the images and patterns from Step by Step 2 and hope that you have as
much fun with them as we did!
Best wishes,
Franca
The Italian thread manufacturer certainly
owes its prominent position to expertise and
also its proximity to its market and customers. In the Carpet Centre in Arco on Lake
Garda Aquafil employees work regularly with
customer representatives. And also with
Halbmond technicians and designers who
regularly give accounts of their practical experience with the Fibre brands, Aqualon, Alto
and Alto Chroma and thus create the basis
for specific further development.
New items

are also brought together, making the Carpet Centre a creative hotbed of

level. No matter how fancy print

properties are to be: Aquafil
does e
everything to fulfil market expectati
o
tions.
As a result an innovative carpet
m
manufacturer such as Halbmond Tepp

can meet the wishes of its

customers
without restriction.
The patterns shown in the Step by
Step 2 presentation book should
awake your creativity. Nothing is
compulsory, everything is possible.

If you like this scene you must be a
devotee of individual holidays: The
Grand Resort is not in any all-inclusive

via travel agent, no matter how
exclusive.
In Cypriot weddings it is a custom to give “Whether it is the business travelers or a bridthe bridal couple financial support during an al couple: our guests are of course welcome

Stavri Papasavva: “Well, the philosophy
of the Grand Resort is to distinguish itself
from the rest. I am also convinced that
many people appreciate the way carpet
feels underfoot and its soft backdrop. Especially in a 5-star hotel.”
The Carpet Magazine: “Was it difficult
to convince the hotel manager of your
idea?”
Stavri Papasavva: “Actually no. Mr Theoharous is someone who really places a lot
of emphasis on his hotel’s image. Unfortunately in floor layout sector to date has
been very limited. Since this design facility in carpet exists at Halbmond Teppichwerke we were able to freely create the
covering right to the very last thread, and
this facility convinced him immediately”.
