Design Studio
Yomaz Design Studio was founded by Andrew Simmons in 1996
as an outlet for the growing amount of freelance design work in
and around the Atlanta area. The Architectural work completed
ranges from Mixed-Use developments, High-end Hotels, Retail
and Hospitality architecture. While in Atlanta, Andrew was the
Senior Designer for John Portman & Associates where he gained
vast experience in the Design and Development of Hospitality,
Commercial, Educational and large Mixed-use projects nationally
and abroad.
In 2004 Mr. Simmons was recruited and relocated to Las Vegas
by a large International Design firm to help incorporate modern
esthetics into the hospitality and gaming industry. While employed
by these Architectural firms, Andrew was the Principal Designer
for over ten million square feet of built work on four continents.
Yomaz Design Studio, LLC has now become a growing regional
collaborative of talented design professionals with multiple
services who all believe in the quality of design and the ability
to execute a project within established constraints. We can
work directly with the owner or in a team role with other design
professionals; we bring creative and unique design solutions in a
variety of services to a broad range of projects in size and scope.
S. ANDREW SIMMONS, RA
Principal, Architecture & Interiors
Mr. Simmons is a registered, practicing Architect with over fourteen years of experience
in Mixed-Use architecture. He has been the Project Designer/Architect or Principal
Designer for over ten million square feet of build work on four continents. Prior to
focusing on Yomaz Design Studio full time, he was the Senior Designer at John Portman
& Associates where he was involved in the design and development of multiple large
scale, mid-used projects from concept to completion. The projects he worked on have
won numerous awards including the “FIABCI Prix d’Excellence” and nominated for an
“Emporis Skyscraper Award”.
After over ten year at Portman, Mr. Simmons was recruited by Paul Steelman Design
Group as the Senior Architectural Design where he managed and designed multiple
projects from Interior design to large scale Hospitality and Casino projects. As a designer
and architect, Mr. Simmons has extensive experience with the production of drawings
and construction administration of the projects to ensure the vision is realized.
Mr. Simmons earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, as a professional
Architect from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991. He did his graduate studies
overseas in sculpture focusing on marble carving and metalwork. Mr. Simmons is a
registered Architect in the state of Georgia and currently lives in Las Vegas with his wife
and two children.

TIMOTHY A. TREMAINE, AIA
Principal, Architecture & Interiors
Mr. Tremaine is a licensed architect who graduated from Ball State University in 1995
with dual degrees in Architecture and Environmental Design. He began his career in
California but moved to Miami, Florida when offered a job with Arquitectonica. There he
developed expertise in high-rise design, and first became interested in the hospitality
industry when he became part of the Golden Moon Hotel and Casino team.
Eager to immerse himself in casino and resort design, and realizing that the top casino
architects would be located in Las Vegas, he moved there and went to work for the Paul
Steelman Design Group. Under Steelman’s wing, he worked for many of the large gaming
companies including MGM Mirage, Foxwoods, Hard Rock, Caesars Entertainment,
Harrah’s Entertainment, and many others.
He is committed to developing the next generation of Entertainment Design –
characterized by a balancing act between personalized service and cutting-edge style.
His intent is to create and maintain a more nimble, responsive architectural design
service with a sophisticated, trend-setting design aesthetic which will redefine cool.

REID W. HAMILTON, AIGA, SEGD
Director, Branded Environments/Environmental Graphic Design
Mr. Hamilton is a design professional with over thirteen years of experience in brand
development, retail, environmental graphic design and graphic design. He has worked at
leading design firms in Vancouver, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las
Vegas. Prior to joining Yomaz Design Studio, he was Design Director at Gensler in Los
Angeles where he was involved in the design and development of multiple large scale,
mixed-used and retail projects from concept to completion. He then joined Paul Steelman
Design Group in Las Vegas, focusing main on high-end gaming properties around the
globe. After Steelman, he joined JMA as Design Director, leading its Environmental
Graphic Design studio.
Mr. Hamilton also gained extensive experience working in brand development and
communications. He worked as a Design Director in New York City and San Francisco for
Addison, an award-winning firm that works primarily with Fortune 100 companies. While
at Addison, he worked on print communications and annual reports for Kodak, John
Hancock, Merrill Lynch, FedEx, TXU, Gateway and Ambac.
Mr. Hamilton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emily Carr College of Art & Design
in 1994. Mr. Hamilton currently lives in Las Vegas with his wife.

A. KELLY KENA
Senior Designer
Ms. Kena is originally from Ghana West Africa. Kelly gained her years of Design
experience from living and working in several countries overseas including 4 years in
London, 6 months in Macau and Hong Kong, China, and 7 years in the United States.
While Living in London, Kelly obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in London. Kelly furthered
her education at the New York School of Interior Design and University of Las Vegas,
Nevada.
Kelly has worked for prominent Design firms including Marriott International –
(Washington D.C.), Design Innerface (Silver Spring, MD), Paul Steelman Design Group and
Cleo Design – Independent Senior Consultant. Kelly holds 9 years of professional design
experience Kelly has been involved in a wide range of interior design projects ranging
from Casinos, hotels, restaurants, offices and night clubs.
Her years of experience includes working on projects for Harrah’s Entertainment
group, Caesar’s Entertainment, Hard Rock Entertainment Group, MGM Group, Stations
Entertainment Group, Venetian Group, Silverton, and individual/third-party clients.

MICHAEL BIERMANN
Director, 3D Digital Animation
Mr. Biermann obtained a Bachelor’s of Science from University of Missouri and a
Master’s Degree in Architecture from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Michael Biermann
was involved in award winning projects during his years at Paul Steelman Design Group,
a prestigious Architecture firm in Las Vegas.
Michael holds about 6 years of professional design experience. His years of experience
includes working on projects for Harrah’s Entertainment group, Caesar’s Entertainment,
Hard Rock Entertainment Group, MGM Group, Stations Entertainment Group, Venetian
Group, Silverton, and individual/third-party clients.
