The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is a leading
business school, offering a balance of management and practical

OUR HISTORY
The building that houses ICMS was originally St. Patrick’s
Seminary. It has stood in a commanding position
overlooking Manly and its surroundings for more than a
century.
WHY ICMS?
Construction of the College began in June 1885. Gothic
in style with a Spanish flavour, the College stands four
storeys high with a central bell tower with the entire
estate covering 20 hectares of parkland. St Patrick’s has
produced many outstanding leaders. Those who have
served the Australian community with great distinction
include Cardinals Gilroy, Freeman, Cassidy and Clancy
along with 41 bishops. Australia’s Prime Minister, Tony
Abbot was a student of St. Patrick’s Seminary.
St Patrick’s College is now a centre for excellence of
a different kind. In 1996, ICMS was established as a
specialised college of higher education. Today, the College
has more than 1,200 students from around the world.

International study opportunities
Our Study Abroad and Exchange programs allow you to
spend one trimester overseas at one of our partner institutions
and your study will be fully accredited to your ICMS degree.
Our international double degree courses allow you to study
at both ICMS and a selected partner institution and qualify
for a Bachelor degree from each institution. We have many
partner institutions in countries in Europe and the Americas
including Johnson & Wales University and San Francisco
State University in the USA, César Ritz Colleges, Switzerland
and a number of universities in Germany.

suburb of Manly. To the north of the College, there are
spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean stretching to the
New South Wales central coast. To the south, you can see

The historic site of the ICMS main campus is surrounded
by 20 hectares of parklands. It is a five-minute walk to
the famous Manly beach, one of Sydney’s premier surfing
beaches. A few minutes’ walk in the other direction will lead
you to the foreshores of the harbour. There are harbour side
bush walks to explore, extending more than 50 kilometers
north and south. Manly also boasts a vibrant shopping
precinct and is well known for its cafés, restaurants and
beachside lifestyle.

ICMS is also close enough to the city – 17 minutes by fast
ferry – for visits to art galleries, museums, the best city
shops, the historic Rocks area, and Sydney’s famous Opera
House.

GETTING TO ICMS
Regular transport services to ICMS are available via Sydney
ferries, buses and taxis.
By bus
Sydney buses operate regularly around Manly and can
transport you to all Sydney regions. ICMS runs a free regular
shuttle bus service for ICMS students from the main Manly
precinct up to our campus and also to the North Head
Sanctuary campus.
By car
If you travel to ICMS by car, free parking is available on campus.
By ferry
The most scenic way to travel to ICMS is by ferry. The quickest
option is by fast ferry which takes only 17 minutes between
Manly and Circular Quay. You can also catch the normal
ferry service which leaves approximately every half hour from
Circular Quay (Wharf 3) and returns at similar intervals. The trip
takes 30 minutes.

Every industry demands graduates with broad
business and managerial skills. If you’re looking
for a generalist business qualification or simply
don’t want to limit yourself to one particular
specialisation, ICMS gives you the option of
completing a comprehensive business and
management qualification which you can

If you love people and travel it’s hard to go past
a career in hospitality. Hospitality Management
opens the doors to careers in major hotels,
exotic resorts, restaurants, catering and
many other service oriented businesses.

and enhanced by our practical approach to

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND

Entrepreneurship and Small Business
Development focuses on developing the skills
and knowledge necessary to identify and
exploit business opportunities and manage
business growth. While there is a specific
emphasis on small to medium business and
new enterprise creation, opportunities also exist
in larger organisations seeking expansion or the
development of new products and services.
EVENT MANAGEMENT
Event Management is an exciting and dynamic
industry where no two days are ever the same.
With an ICMS Event Management degree
you will learn the essential skills involved in
conceptualising planning and running a range
of diverse events across industry sectors from
corporate conferences, community charity
events, weddings to large scale festivals and
concerts. It’s not all text book learning with a
focus on practical experience incorporated

Human resource management professionals
are responsible for an organisation’s most
valued assets – people. This course will equip
you with the skills and an understanding of
current policies used to manage people and
their contribution towards organisational

INTERNATIONAL TOURISM
Tourism is one of Australia’s largest export
industries and critical to many global
economies. An International Tourism
qualification from ICMS will prepare you for
careers in destination management and

Learn how organisations source products and
ensure they are delivered to the end consumer
- including the myriad of steps in between. You
will develop a deep understanding of logistics,
materials management, inventory control,
warehousing, transport and distribution. You’ll
also gain project management expertise,
learn the skills to deal with stakeholders and

products and services. In this specialisation
you will develop the skills modern marketers

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
Property is a growing industry with a
shortage of qualified professionals. Your
internationally recognised qualification in
Property Management can lead to a career in
property development, commercial valuation,
project management, facilities management
and property investment, to name a few. It
has provided a rich and diverse career path
for our graduates, many of whom are earning

RETAIL MARKETING
Top brands and companies are fighting for
market share both online and in traditional
‘bricks and mortar’ stores. As such, the retail
sector requires savvy marketers who can
employ the latest tactics and strategies to
secure sales and generate consumer loyalty.
Developed in conjunction with leading industry
professionals, Retail Marketing at ICMS gives
you exposure to consumer behaviour, retail
technology, advertising, e-commerce, buying
and logistics, and visual merchandising.
SPORTS MANAGEMENT
Transform your love for sports into a business
career. Professional sports management
spans everything from the management of
elite athletes and teams to the administration
of mass market participation sports. When
you study a sports management course at
ICMS you will take subjects in sponsorship,
sports marketing, player and performance
management media relations and facilities

WHICH ICMS COURSE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Once you’ve chosen an ICMS specialisation, you’ll need to consider the qualification level
you wish to attain. This depends on many factors like how long you wish to study and the
experience you need to enter a particular industry or position. You can enter straight into
one of our Bachelor degrees if you meet the entry requirements, choose an alternative
entry option or select a preparatory English language program if your language skills need
upgrading (see page 38). Double degrees are also available to Bachelor graduates in just
2-3 trimesters of additional study (depending on electives chosen).
BACHELOR OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (BBM)
DOUBLE DEGREE
Course length: 2.75 years full time, 24 subjects
The BBM is a broad business qualification that can be completed in
less than three years and includes up to nine months of compulsory
industry training which will give you a head start over other graduates.
You can combine your core business studies with electives from all
ICMS specialisations or, if you want to focus your studies, choose
electives from one of our specialisations and achieve a specialisation in
Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Supply
Chain Management, Marketing and New Media or Retail Marketing
Course length: 3.5 years full time, 32 subjects
At ICMS you can combine a specialist degree with the Bachelor of
Business Management (BBM) and be awarded with a double degree.
Our double degree combinations are flexible, the way you combine them
will depend on your interests, abilities and career aspirations. And you
don’t have to enrol in a double degree when you first apply to ICMS, in
fact, you can make your decision in trimester seven of your first degree.
SPECIALIST BACHELOR DEGREES

STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS AT ICMS
UNIVERSITY OF LONDON DEGREES
Spend a trimester in Australia and take study credits back home.
ICMS offers an exciting location for international students who wish to
undertake a study abroad program. Not only can you study in one of
Sydney’s most beautiful locations overlooking Manly Beach and Sydney
Harbour, the comprehensive academic and social programs ensure
that you experience the Australian lifestyle while learning within an
internationally recognised institution.
ICMS provides teaching support for two University of London
International Programmes degrees under the academic direction of
LSE (The London School of Economics and Political Science). Support
is available for the Bachelor of Science (Banking and Finance) and
Bachelor of Science (Accounting and Finance). The University of London
has an international reputation for academic distinction in teaching and
research. Graduates of the University are keenly sought by employers
the world over.
At ICMS you can study abroad for up to two trimesters and take three or
four subjects per trimester. That’s approximately 12 to 16 hours of class
time per week. This program offers a range of subjects in:

business programs: Master of International Business, Master of
Management or Graduate Certificate of Business. All ICMS Master
degrees include an industry research project when you work in an
organisation for 600 hours and apply your knowledge to real business
issues.

Diploma and English language programs are also offered via Aspire
Institute as a pathway into our degree programs and help you to reach
your fullest potential.
Internship options are also available for Study Abroad students. Intakes
are in February, May and September. Students on the Study Abroad
program are invited to attend the International Cultural Immersion

If you are passionate about golf, you can complete the Diploma of Golf
Management offered by the PGA International Golf Institute and receive
credit towards an ICMS Bachelor degree. For more information see page 39.

It’s not just valuable experience; it’s a structured part of your course
and provides a foundation for your capstone subjects.
Our Industry Training program is amongst the most
comprehensive programs of its kind in Australia and
highly regarded amongst employers who continually seek
our students for placements. It is a complete course
that allows you to gain the skills needed for a suitable
placement to build your career.

We have established an extensive network of industry
partners within Australia and overseas and you can complete

There are two stages of our industry training program as
outlined below.
Stage 1: Pre-Placement Program
During your first year of study you will undertake a
Pre-Placement Program to prepare you for your placement.
You will prepare a resume, practise interview techniques
and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to secure a

My industry training experience gave me a great perspective
about how what you learn in the classroom can be put into

Complete your industry training placement with one of
our industry partners in the second year of your degree in
trimesters four and five. There are no college fees for the

When I was on industry training I realised that the events industry was
made for people who really believe in their own capabilities and who are
not afraid of hard work. I came back to ICMS with open eyes and a more
concrete understanding of some of the concepts discussed in class.
Industry Training: Shangri La Hotel Sydney, Horizon Club
At the Shangri La Horizon Club I deal with high-end clientele
including dignitaries and government delegations from around
the world. It’s a lot of responsibility but I enjoy the challenge
and I’ve been approached to stay with the company in a casual
capacity after my placement.
After nine months of industry training at Brookfield Multiplex,
I secured a role at Colonial First State Property Management.
Now, at Anytime Fitness I’m in a managerial role and have
responsibility for the strategic acquisition of new sites. The
experience and contacts I gained during my industry training
gave me a head start to my career.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION SCHEME
The Community Contribution Scheme has been developed to encourage and
acknowledge voluntary participation within the College and local community. The
scheme acknowledges voluntary contribution by students on their academic
transcripts at the end of each trimester. Students may choose to donate their time
and skills to local charities, fundraising events and community activities.
SPORT AT ICMS
Whether you’re into rugby, netball, futsal, basketball, beach volleyball, or just
general fitness, you can become involved in sport and fitness programs at
ICMS. We have sporting teams in these sports representing ICMS in internal
and external tournaments. Our Student Experience Coordinators support all our
sports teams and if there’s not one that meets your needs, find 12 friends and
form your own.
Other activities on campus include tennis, tae kwon do, yoga, Zumba and even
boot camp. Manly is also a paradise for outdoor activities and we organise
weekend activities such as surf camp trips, snorkelling, kayaking, stand-up
boarding, canoeing, horse riding, surf lessons and amazing bushwalks all within a
short distance from the ICMS campus.
BASSMENT
The Bassment, located in Kelly House, is a fantastic area for students to meet,
unwind and relax. Major college parties and themed events are hosted here
throughout trimesters including auction night, karaoke and trivia night, and sports
viewing events such as the Melbourne Cup and the Rugby Origins. The Bassment
is open for leisure and games until 10:30pm daily and features Foxtel TV, a pool
table and table tennis facilities. Staffed by volunteers, all profits made from events
and serviced food and drinks are managed by the Student Representative Council
(SRC) to directly benefit the ICMS student body.
ORIENTATION WEEK
Your first week at ICMS begins with Orientation Week (O-Week). During this
action-packed week, you will be introduced to the vibrant and caring community
that is ICMS and also to life in Manly. You will get to understand the academic
side of things and enjoy memorable experiences with new friends you will be
spending your next phase of life with.
These are just a few of the things you’ll do in O-Week:

We open our doors to all new residential students on the weekend before

INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL IMMERSION PROGRAM
If you are an international study abroad student, the International Cultural
Immersion Program is designed to welcome you to your host country. This fiveday adventure will help you adjust to the academic and cultural differences you
might encounter, introduce you to ICMS Study Abroad students and expose you
to a beautiful and exciting area of Australia.
Taking place in Cairns, the package includes accommodation, breakfast daily,
some lunches and dinners, a day on the Great Barrier Reef, Aboriginal and wildlife
experiences, tours, airport transfers and more. Flights to and from Cairns are not
included. Cost is approximately $850.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES
ICMS offers a wide variety of academic support
services for students. Our Academic Learning
Centre (ALC) has academic learning advisers
who will help you to develop your academic
skills and prepare you for the cultural change to
tertiary student life. It is open from Monday to
Friday every week of the College trimester.

CENTRE
The Pollard Resource Centre houses the
College library. It is equipped with interactive
learning resources including computers, books,
journals and audio-visual materials. Quiet areas
and syndicate rooms dedicated to group study
and meetings are also located in the Centre.
A high-speed printer/photocopier/scanner is
available for student use.
Most importantly the library provides access to
the College’s impressive collection of electronic
resources, including hundreds of thousands
of e-book and e-journal titles from the most
respected publishers.
Our friendly library staff will guide you in the
efficient use of these resources. They will
ensure that you find high quality, relevant
academic resources for your assignments.
During trimesters, the library opening hour are
Monday to Wednesday 8am to 8pm, Thursday
8am to 5.30pm and Friday 8m to 5pm. The
library is also open on both Saturday and
Sunday.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
COUNCIL (SRC)
The Student Representative Council (SRC)
strives to improve and maintain the quality
of student life for the entire student body.
The SRC is elected by peers and acts as an
advocate for the student body with the SRC
President holding a position on the Academic
Senate. The SRC also works with our Student
Experience Coordinators to plan and organise a

range of social activities, including major events
such as our College Icebreaker. Throughout the
ICMS trimesters, the SRC also runs the student
common area, the Bassment Bar and holds
regular events for students to enjoy.
RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT
Our Resident Assistants (RAs) are senior
student leaders who live on campus and
provide support to all ICMS students. They are
responsible for the management of each floor
of residence, providing support and security
for residential students including emotional
support, academic guidance, student safety,
floor meetings, and kitchenette maintenance.
They also provide the student voice - your
voice - on issues and ideas to be put forward
about on-campus accommodation.
Your RAs are there to help you through your
time at ICMS. Chat to them if you require help
while studying at ICMS - they will be able to
point you in the right direction.

This spectacular city of over 4 million people
is widely regarded as one of the world’s most

helps; even in mid-winter, temperatures rarely

the average summer temperature is around

SOPHIE’S TOP FIVE THINGS TO DO IN MANLY
Australian people are generally very relaxed and laid back in manner
and are known for their cheeky sense of humour and their ‘tell it
how it is’ personality. Australians value common courtesies such as
saying ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and waiting patiently to be served or
attended to. Australians are known for many things, but perhaps none
more so than their passion and patriotism when it comes to sport,
which makes up a large cultural part of life in Sydney.
1. Snorkelling at Shelly Beach
Shelly Beach is one of Manly’s prettiest beaches and only a fiveminute walk from the ICMS campus. In my first week as a student at
ICMS, I went snorkelling there for the first time – it was a great way to
make friends and learn about the diverse sea-life in Manly!
2. Shopping at the Corso
The Manly Corso is a great place for shopping. You’ll find a mix of
franchise stores and boutiques catering to just about every fashion
need. Each weekend there’s a market with eclectic art, homewares,
clothing and food. When you’re exhausted from shopping grab a
coffee at one of the many cafes in Manly.
COST OF LIVING AND WORKING IN SYDNEY
The cost of living in Sydney compares with many European and
Asian cities. You can determine your budget depending on the type
of lifestyle you wish to lead. Fortunately, Sydney is an outdoor city
so many activities can be undertaken free of charge or for minimal
expense. International students require a minimum of $18,000 per
year for living expenses (not including tuition).
3. The view from North Head Sanctuary’s furthest lookout
North Head has amazing views overlooking Sydney Harbour and you
get to experience a unique perspective of the city. I like walking to the
furthest lookout – it’s a nice stroll from the campus and there’s also
some great cafés along the way!
As an international student in Australia, you are able to work in paid
employment up to 40 hours per fortnight (two weeks period) and
unlimited hours during College vacation periods.
4. Relaxing at Manly Beach
An easy place to relax when you’re short on time is Manly Beach. I
find an afternoon soaking up the sun makes a busy week of study feel
like you are on holidays.
ICMS students completing their Industry Training placement are
eligible to work full time during that period as the work placement is
a subject within their course and not subject to the same restrictions
as during their academic coursework. Visit www.immi.gov.au for more
information on your visa privileges.
GETTING AROUND
ICMS is located 17 minutes by fast ferry from the city of Sydney. The
public transport system in Sydney includes ferries, trains and buses.
Trains operate regularly in the city and tickets are purchased from
booths or machines at railway stations. The closest railway station to
Manly is at North Sydney, accessible by bus. If you intend to do a lot of
travelling, it can be worthwhile purchasing a weekly ticket which covers
unlimited travelling on combined forms of transport around Sydney.
5. Dinner at Criniti’s
There are a lot of fantastic restaurants in Manly but Criniti’s would have
to be my favourite. With stylish furnishings, delicious food, and great
hospitality Criniti’s is a great choice for a special night out. Must haves
are the two-metre long pizzas, cocktails served in mini Coliseums’ and
larger-than-life desserts. All enjoyed next to a Ferrari in the middle of
the restaurant.

FINDING YOUR NEW HOME
Manly and the surrounding northern beaches represent some of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Sydney. Students have a variety of accommodation
options available, ranging from living on-campus to finding lodging off-campus either alone or in a shared house with classmates. The Sydney rental
market is highly competitive, so we suggest you start thinking about what type of accommodation will best suit your needs as soon as possible.
Accommodation in Manly and surrounding suburbs
Manly is a vibrant cosmopolitan centre and as such there is a large
demand for temporary accommodation, particularly in the summer
months. Suburbs located close to Manly include Dee Why, Freshwater,
Manly Vale, Balgowlah, Brookvale, Seaforth and Fairlight. Should you
wish to live in the city centre, Manly is only a 17-minute fast ferry ride
from Sydney city.
On-campus accommodation
Students who live on-campus enjoy a fantastic lifestyle with all meals
provided, wireless internet, 24 hour access to computer labs, as well as
the luxury of being in close proximity to classes, and the world-famous
Manly Beach. Rooms are equipped with a desk, wardrobe, heating,
personal phones and wireless internet. All linen is provided and rooms
are dusted and vacuumed once a week. Each floor is equipped with a
kitchenette, common showers, toilets and ironing facilities. You will also
receive residential support from the Resident Assistants, senior ICMS
student leaders who live on campus.
You will have the choice of a single, double or triple dormitory room,
depending on your budget, residential preference and availability. Shared
rooms are single sex but are allocated randomly for cultural experience.
Options for accommodation include shared accommodation where you
pay for a room in an apartment/house or medium term accommodation
where you sign a lease for 12 months, although six month contracts can
sometimes be found. Of course there are also numerous hotels, motels,
serviced apartments, furnished accommodation and backpacker style
accommodation available.
On-campus accommodation is very popular and places fill up quickly
for the 177 beds available. It is recommended that you apply for a place
as soon as possible. The fees for on-campus accommodation are as
follows.
When searching for accommodation, remember that many rental
properties require an upfront bond of one to two months rental fees to
cover any damages occurring during your stay. You may also be required
to provide references to show you are an ideal tenant/flatmate.

Anne-Marie Flynn was the head of event management studies at ICMS
from 2004-2013. She has held the position of Associate Dean, Teaching
and Learning since January 2012. In this role, Anne-Marie is responsible
for managing, monitoring and evaluating the core teaching and learning
activities for all programs at ICMS. Anne-Marie’s academic interests
include best practice in teaching and learning, quality assurance,
curriculum design and development and e-learning. She was awarded
the Teaching Excellence Award at ICMS in 2008 and 2013.
Martin Long is a seasoned marketer with more than 30 years’ senior
management experience. More recently Martin has specialised in
membership engagement and marketing strategy for the not-for-profit
sector, regularly advising boards on branding and positioning. His work
has been recognised by the Australian Marketing Institute and the Public
Relations Institute. An experienced lecturer, Martin is passionate about
teaching young adults the whole range of marketing subjects and excited

Australian Business Association in Japan. In his role as Head, School
of Business and Management at ICMS, Professor March manages
the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including curriculum
development, recruitment, and professional staff development.
Bryn has extensive experience in the operational set up of new colleges
and schools, teaching, management and academic administration.
Having worked in the tourism, hospitality and education sectors for
30 years, Bryn has held educational leadership positions both in the
vocational and higher education sectors and gained international
experience in the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Switzerland. In his role
of Head of School Professional Services Management, Bryn manages
all specialisations of undergraduate programs including recruitment,
professional staff development and academic management.

Juliet has more than 25 years’ experience in the event, hospitality and
tourism sectors, in Australia and internationally. With a background in
management roles with Accor and Dockside group, she currently runs
EventED, a venue marketing and training consultancy and has worked
with a diverse range of clients including World Youth Day, Bob Wood
Travel Group, Hard Rock Café, the American Club Sydney and Outrigger
on the Lagoon Fiji. At ICMS, Juliet brings with her more than 14 years of
lecturing experience in the event, hospitality and tourism sectors.
Alex’s experience in the hospitality industry spans three decades in the
areas of kitchen management, food and beverage, and housekeeping
at five-star hotels and fine dining restaurants in Australia and the United
Kingdom. Alex has competed in many culinary competitions at a national
level achieving outstanding results, notably the ‘Golden Chefs Hat’. Alex
is motivated to deliver a hospitality program at ICMS that is exciting,
current and practical for today’s graduates to be successful in the global

years, John brings an impressive knowledge base with him to ICMS.
He is an architect with experience in design, property management,
building construction and project management. John also has many

John uses his industry knowledge and teaching experience to prepare
students for rewarding roles in the property industry.
Conrad has an extensive background in performance psychology. During
his many years as a sports teacher and lecturer in the UK, Conrad
was also the elite performance coach for the England South West RFU
Academy. Conrad has also worked as a consultant lecturer for the
England Rugby Union and the England Netball Academy, educating
their elite athletes in performance nutrition and performance motivation.
At ICMS, Conrad lectures in the areas of performance psychology and
innovation in sports management.

PGA INTERNATIONAL GOLF INSTITUTE
Bachelor degree study opportunities
After successful completion of the diploma, you can enter the second
year of study of an ICMS Bachelor degree in sport management,
business management or event management. Five subject exemptions
will be given for ICMS Bachelor degrees in all other areas including
hospitality and property management. To complete the PGA of Australia
pathway, you must also complete ongoing golf practical (skills) subjects
each trimester.

WHEN TO APPLY
ICMS has three trimesters per year (February, May and September)
and you can start your Bachelor degree in any of these trimesters.
Applications should be made at least two months prior to the
preferred enrolment date. Late applications are accepted, however
places at the College are limited.

STEP 2 CHECK THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All ICMS degrees have academic and English language entry
requirements. A list of entry requirements with some country
specific examples can be found on page 36. If you don’t meet the
entry requirements, there are other study opportunities through
Aspire Institute which provides pathways for you to become an
ICMS student. Read about the Aspire Institute entry pathways on
page 38.
STEP 3 SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
Complete and submit the application form on page 45. Alternatively,
you can apply online at www.icms.edu.au/apply or through an
education agent. Make sure you complete your application carefully
and include all supporting information including proof of English
language proficiency and academic transcripts. This will ensure
there are no delays in the process. If you are eligible for streamlined
visa processing (SVP), you may be required to submit additional
documentation.
STEP 4 ACCEPT YOUR OFFER
Once ICMS receives and processes your application, if successful,
you’ll receive a Letter of Offer. Sign and return your offer to ICMS
along with the required documentation outlined in your Letter of
Offer. Upon successful assessment you will be asked to submit
the CoE Request Form to the Admissions office with evidence of
payment to receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You can
then apply for your visa.
STEP 5 APPLY FOR YOUR VISA
All international students require a student visa to come to Australia
to study. For information on how to apply for your visa visit

At ICMS we believe that attitude and ambition is not always measurable by your ATAR.
Our Direct Entry option is based on an application interview and your performance in
individual HSC subjects (or equivalent) related to your degree, not your ATAR. Tuition
fees can be covered by FEE-Help (Australian citizens only).

ICMS High Academic Places (February intake only)
Hard work deserves to be rewarded. That’s why we have created ICMS High Academic
Places to allow you to study at ICMS at a cost more comparable with a university
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). These places are awarded on the basis of
application interview and ATAR (or equivalent).
How to apply: To be eligible for an ICMS High Academic Place you must apply through
the Universities Admission Centre (UAC) and include your chosen ICMS course(s) in
your list of preferences. UAC guides are available in early August – find ICMS in the
2015 UAC Guide - or you can apply online at www.uac.edu.au.
All UAC applicants will be considered for an ICMS High Academic Place at the College.
Students who are not offered a High Academic Place are eligible for direct entry or
alternative entry.
We recommend you apply both directly and through UAC.
STEP 3 ATTEND YOUR PERSONAL APPLICATION INTERVIEW
Because personal ambition for a career in one of our specialisations is just as important
as academic results we interview all applicants. Your interview will be one-on-one with
an ICMS staff member and take approximately 20 minutes. It’s not a test! We want to
get to know you and asses your enthusiasm for your chosen course. We’ll contact you
about your interview once we receive your application.

Through the Aspiring Education Foundation (AEF), ICMS awards equity

financial hardship is required, and the AEF Committee determines the
