Bruce Nechodom is 55 years old and lives in Darboy (originally from Little Chute) with he wife, Tanya. They have two
children, Adam (LeAnn) and Jeremy (Krystal) and ten grandchildren. On November 25, 2013 Bruce was at work and
came home complaining of tooth pain and weakness. He was taken to the AMC where they found his heart valves
were completely blocked and he was in cardiac arrest. Bruce was taken back to AMC, but his condition continued to
deteriorate so he was transferred to UW-Madison Hospital, where they didn't give Bruce and his family much hope.The
next day he had an ablation surgery, they came out of surgery and said they lost him and to call the family. Twenty
minutes later Bruce was revived and was placed on life support to stabilize him. The heart did not heal and they
surgically implanted a LVAD device which has been on since 12-26-2013. Bruce was placed on the transplant list on
6-4-2014 and is currently waiting for a heart transplant.
Bruce loves hunting, dogs, spending time with family and going up north. Bruce is always the first one to offer his
help to anyone that needs it. He’s an excellent carpenter and still works with wood as a hobby. Bruce has been
blessed with many second chances and hopefully will be lucky enough to receive the gift of life.
Bruce is such a kind, caring man and lives each day to the fullest. His motto is “It is what it is”. We would
appreciate help with Bruce’s overwhelming medical bills and ongoing costs towards rejection meds after the
transplant. God is good!! Second chances, Donate life!!
