COURSE INFORMATION 8.25 mi 9 mi 9.75 mi 10.5 mi 11.5 mi at the castle on the summit of Whiteface. Each participant is responsible for their own transportation down the mountain at the close of the race. Riding back down is at your own risk, following pacing marshals. A minimum of two brakes are required. Entrants are responsible for their own fluid needs during the race. No aid stations will be provided along the route. Fruit, snacks, and beverages will be served at the finish line. A barbecue, complete with a vegetarian option, will be served after the race. This is included in the race fee. This USATF certified course covers 11 miles over an 8 percent grade up Whiteface Mountain’s scenic Veterans Helmets are required. Memorial Highway. These passes are for spectators only and are valid from 7:45 - 9 a.m. on the day of the race. Please note that Route 86 will be closed to all traffic starting at 7:45 a.m. until the last racer has reached the intersection of Route 86 and the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway. 8 There will be a special viewing area on the corner by Adirondack Chocolates, where spectators can cheer everyone on as they start their climb to the top! See flips, jumps, and balancing like you’ve never seen before. Starring Sam Perkins and the Krushers Stunt Team of Montreal. There’s also food and face painting for the kids. Located at the Wilmington Bike Park behind the Little Supermarket ( 2 on the page 16 map). 10 www.BikeWilmingtonNY.com #wwbikefest 11 POOR MAN’s DOWNHILL (See map on page 16) The most recent addition to the riding options in the Whiteface Region is a shuttle run, affectionately known as “Poor Man’s Downhill.” The smooth tread in this directional trail makes it appropriate for any fat tire bike. Oktoberfest is a weekend-long celebration of Bavarian culture, with authentic music, dancing, food, and beer. What stands out the most about the West Branch is the large amount of pocket water. Adirondack fishermen and women will tell you that’s where the best trout live. rocks and boulders, which provide plenty of hiding places, food, and resting spots. The oxygen and shade from the tree cover help the survival of the fish during the warmer months. The river also harbors slower sections that are deep with undercut banks just waiting for your fly to drop in. In 1.3 miles turn right onto Fox Farm Road. Turn right onto Springfield Road. Continue to Route 9N and turn right. After 2.8 miles turn left onto Trumbulls Road. Bear right at Jay Mountain Road for the next 1.5 miles, staying left at the fork in the road. INBOUND RETURNING TO WHITEFACE MOUNTAIN Follow Jay Mountain Road back to Route 9N (3.3 miles). Turn right onto Route 9N (3.7 miles). Turn left onto Route 86 (5 miles).
