R ® Ultrasonic Wound Care System SonicOne ® SonicOne The Misonix SonicOne is an innovative wound care system designed to address the challenges chronic wounds present to the patient, the healthcare professional and the healthcare system. The SonicOne ultrasonic wound care system establishes a new standard in wound bed preparation, an essential first step in the wound healing process. Achieving superior levels of debridement Innovative technology The successful removal of necrotic materials and devitalized tissue from a wound is an essential first step towards wound healing. The SonicOne differentiates itself from other debridement systems by facilitating an extremely thorough debridement, with minimal pain sensation and excellent preservation of healthy, soft tissue. The built in, adjustable irrigation system allows cell debris, bacteria, and exudates to be easily flushed from the wound site, an important element in wound cleansing. The SonicOne generator converts standard wall voltage to a 22.5 KHz electrical signal. The handpiece, using highly efficient piezoelectric crystals, converts the electrical signal to mechanical vibrations. The titanium alloy probe amplifies the mechanical vibration and transfers the acoustic energy into the tissue, via direct contact. The resulting cavitation, mechanical and hydrodynamic effects produce tissue disruption, fragmentation and emulsion in the wound bed. Clinical experience with the SonicOne suggests exceptional wound bed granulation, accompanied by significantly reduced bleeding and tissue trauma. Clinical Flexibility The design of the individual wound care probes allows the SonicOne to be effective on a variety of tissue types. Clinical applications include, but are not limited to the debridement of diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure sores, burns and bone. Ease of use and portability make the SonicOne suitable for a broad variety of wound care settings: acute care, operating rooms, extended care facilities, outpatient facilities and wound care clinics. The SonicOne system includes everything needed to start cleansing and debriding wounds ultrasonically. “ SonicOne is an extremely useful tool in our out-patient clinic to safely and effectively debride wounds when other methods were totally ineffective. The SonicOne has now become a standard of care in our wound care center for rapid wound healing. Bioburden is a significant contributor to non-healing chronic wounds. With routine use of SonicOne, I have observed a significant improvement to overall healing when bioburden was a factor or issue to non-healing. Joseph P. Cavorsi, M.D Medical Director, The Center for Advanced Wound Care ” Features and Benefits ■■ Intuitive, user friendly design, allows clinicians to quickly learn and fully utilize the system ■■ Interchangeable wound care probes provide flexibility to address a variety of different wound types ■■ Ultrasound output can be switched between a Continuous or Variable Pulse Mode (50-90% Duty Cycle), to effectively debride the wound, while maximizing patient comfort ■■ Amplitude control optimizes debridement efficiency on a wide variety of wounds and tissue types (necrotic tissue, fibrin, necrotic bone, eschar, etc.) ■■ Automatic gain control function maintains the selected amplitude, regardless of wound type “ The SonicOne is indispensible in our clinic. There is a great sense of security to be able to achieve reduction in necrosis, debris, and bacteria from our patient’s wounds with minimal to no discomfort, as well as the satisfaction of promoting wound healing at the same time. ■■ Integrated peristaltic pump provides a steady irrigation rate to the wound site for cleaning and maintenance of a safe wound bed temperature. Clinician may adjust irrigation level from a lower setting for general debridement to a higher setting for wound cleansing. ■■ Handpiece and probes are fully autoclavable for easy reprocessing and quick turnaround times ■■ Digital display of ultrasonic use time, with reset capabilities, enables recording of ultrasound use time per site ■■ System monitoring for easy identification of fault conditions with audible and visual alarms ■■ Compact design and integrated handle allows the SonicOne to be easily placed on a cart for maximum portability between treatment locations ” Pre Debridement Dot Weir, RN, CWON, CWS Program Director, The Wound Healing Center of Osceola Regional Medical Center Post Debridement SonicOne Ultrasonic Wound Care System Probes The Gold probe, with its broad, angled wound contact surface, is effective on a wide variety of necrotic material. This makes it our most versatile probe for general ultrasonic wound debridement. NEW: The Purple probe is the next generation ultrasonic curette. The ultrasonic effects, induced by a curved contact surface with a non-sharp leading edge, facilitate the precise engagement and removal of targeted tissue. The curved edge shape allows the wound edge to be saucerized easily and accurately. The Green probe is designed for use on delicate wounds. When combined with the ultrasonic pulse function, the system is ideal for use on pain sensitive patients. NEW: The Copper probe has a narrow angled end optimized to access and ultrasonically break the bonds between the eschar and wound bed. The eschar can then be easily lifted off, while preserving the underlying tissue. The Blue probe can effectively penetrate deep, narrow wounds that may need moderate to highly aggressive debridement. Its cylindrical shape, with radially positioned energy directors, is optimized for ultrasonic debridement of tunnel or sinus track walls. The Magenta probe has a hatched wound contact surface that provides aggressive debridement. This probe is ideal for the ultrasonic removal of necrotic bone and thick eschar.
